Well I had to start this post to Brag about completing my 100 miles for the month. Yesterday I reached my personal goal and ended up at 100.9 miles so far for the month of August. Hpe everyone else did well, even without the wonderful support of this website for th epast 2 days.

wOW! Rob, I'm so proud of you for making that milestone.

You know, it's funny to think, but you can really get somewhere by walking. Think of all the places within a 100 miles of your home and realize, ...you could have walked there!

Well, Rob, I am not at all surprised. Congratulations and good goin'! And goin' and goin' and goin'! LOL

I'm so very very pleased that you started and ended this journey with such strength and consistency. WTG!!

    Woo hoo!

Sadly, no walks for me these last few days (migraine Day Four now). Grr.

You get to kick off the NEW Walk a Day Challenge thread when we're back to our old digs. You definitely earned it!!

Hope, gee that awful that you still have a migraine. Maybe it's time to talk to the doc about an different Rx?

I went to a Scottish country dance at the SF Caledonia Club Highland Games. I did 12 dances (out of 17) in 4 hours, so that was a whole lot of exercise - and, it was just way too much fun! I got to see a lot of old friends who I haven't seen in a long time.

I just finished my last walk for the month of august. Did 4 miles in 65 minutes which is an overall speed of 3.69 mph. okay I admit there was a tiny bit of jogging involved, but not much. 30 yards at a time and one 2 minute sprint at the end to get in at 65 minutes.
But that gives me 104.9 miles for the month.
Walked for a total 1894 minutes or 31 hours and 34 minutes. I walked for 27 out of 31 days in August. Contrast to the pre challenge months where I walked 40 miles in July and 43 in June and you see this challenge has been a great motivator.

    Rob

Teelbee I think scottish dancing counts at least as much and probbaly more than walking.
Hope- air pollution at this time of year can cause migraines. get a hepa filter for your bedroom and see if that helps.

Great going. it took me 6 months to get my walking up to what it is now. and I may not be so gung ho in September and may be happy with 80 miles for the month. well see. The important part is to get out there and do what you can.

    Way to go Rob!!

I've been away for about a week and haven't walked at all. This is starting a new month and a new challenge I guess.

Rob, how many miles did you walk a day (on average?)

I'm a-okay now. Migraine, she is gone. I used to get migraines every couple of months and for a week or more at a time. Now that I'm in my 30s, I get them once every seven or eight months, and only for a few days at a time. Thank goodness!

All better now. It's hormonal, I'm sure. And hereditary. So they say.

Back on the walking! Can't wait!

darlene-On average for the 27 days I walked 3.88 miles aday. But I had a couple ofd days where I didn't feel well and just got out and did a mile. I'd say a typical day was about 4 to 4 1/2.

Hope-glad you're back to the land of the living

Well I didn't feel well yesterday and am not so hot today. So i did 25 minutes yesterday and 45 minutes today. But i feel a little better and may go out for another 30 minutes tonight.

Please help me! I was once doing so well, just like you. I got out of the habit of the gym and out of the habit of Atkins. But, I've started today fresh and ready go! One mile this morning (a quickie) and I will go back tonight. Wish me luck!

Good luck, Jbug! I know you can do it! Keep working in those quickie walks - they do add up, you know.

I walked 30-minutes yesterday. It was already dark by the time DH and I got going - summer is really fading fast!

Hope, I'm glad your migraine is finally gone. I've had various forms of migraines over the years and they are definitely no fun. You sound much better today.

Rob, I hope you are feeling better by the time you read this. Good for you for walking anyway! Do you find that walking even a little helps when you're feeling punky?

Darlene, welcome back! You're right, of course, a new month is a great time for a new start!

Nursynurs, I think 41 miles in 2 weeks is a great achievement - Well done!

Okay, now I'm all inspired and I want to do a 60-minute walk today!

Hi...I'm checking in. This site might have been out of commission - but I guess we walkers were not!

Rob, way to go! You inspire me. I'm still chugging along, even with this heat. But over 100 miles - I'm impressed!

Maybe I'll set me a milage goal for September for myself...not just a walk a day, but a distance. HHHHMMMMM....
