I've been home now a full 5 days... been super busy, unpacking, lots of laundry, reorganizing stuff, much work in the yard [as the weather is decent] ... trying to get my diet back on track.

I'll do good all day, then eat a lil something... yesterday was good -- though i did find a small bottle [you know, the 1-2 ounce size] of vanilla Kahlua -- had that over ice last evening.

I think cutting out the alcohol will be the toughest -- I've really enjoyed my bottles of wine the past few months. Starchy / sugary carbs shouldn't be an issue, as I really didnt make them habits again -- just every now and then we went out for a meal where I had them. Like our last meal in Wisconsin... the best Mexican restaurant around... killer home made chips.

Have not found time yet to start exercising... but with all the yard work i'm doing, that should be making up for it.... the way i see it.. if i'm out working in the flower beds, i'm not in the kitchen eating.

I finally did step on the scale, about a week after we got home... I had 2 pretty bad months, eating-wise over the summer, and was pretty much "off" for 3 months... I only gained 3 pounds... so all in all, that wasn't too bad. I felt like I gained about 10+, maybe it was a lot of water retention.

    I was 157.5 this morning.

I'm back exercising, but not daily yet... probably 3-4 days per week... though I finally finished up cleaning my flower beds. That was about 8 days at approx 2.5-4 hrs a day. I finished up with the last bit of it this morning.... cutting back perennials, pulling annuals and collecting some seeds.

Diet is back on track 100%, has been for about 6 days now.... zero Halloween candy, and none of the cookies DH bought this morning.

Yesterday was actually ONE YEAR to the day, that I've been back on LC.
Have a lot of winter plans, and hope to lose another 10 by the end of January. Being back in the 140's will be outstanding... only thing -- I need more clothes.

I have found one great thing about re-losing weight.... "shopping" in ones closet. I have found a ton of clothes that I fit in again. Yrs back, I did happen to give a lot of my favorite smaller clothes to a friend... not thinking i'd get back in them again... Now i'm regretting it.

Yesterday I cleaned out my closet of anything that no longer fit... I am NOT going back to size 14-16 again. Offered them on FreeCycle, and it turned out a foster mom was looking for clothing for her 18 yr old foster daughter - who is in desperate need of nicer clothing.... So it went from an offer of 6 blouses to a 3/4 filled 33gal trash bag. I got rid of everything... jeans, suits, skirts, shorts, capris and the blouses. She was a very happy young lady. My good deed for the day.

I have decided that I have to eliminate wine and peanut butter for a while.

    Yesterday was day 1

did not have any PB [I have the all natural kind] or any wine.

They say it takes few days to break habits.

My diet, otherwise has been very good. Been exercising, just not as much as i should be.

    10 weeks til vacation.

Terese - Pb is one of my trigger foods so I rarely buy it. maybe once every year and a half. I occasionally get my pb fix at my sister's house. She makes her own in her magic bullet and often will add other nuts, like cashews or almonds or hazelnuts along with the peanuts. I love it so much but she only makes a cup at a time and there's usually only a couple of ounces left when I visit.

Terese I hope all is well with you. As I am sure you guessed I am back to square one. but 6 lbs down since I started. Not too bad for a week. Now that I have most of the proper ingredients it should be alot easier. I made a mockeroni and cheese the other day, cauliflower with bacon and cheese, all the adults loved it, no left overs what so ever. Hope every thing is okay and look forward to talking with you

OH -- i will have to try adding bacon to our cauli mash that we always make.

I think DH may be switching a bit to LC, he's having GERD issue and is reading the cutting the carbs will help with that.

Soooo good to see you again.
Will have to catch up soon, or as soon as i can.

    Back from vacation.

DH and I took a very long [45 day, 5000 mile] trip .... some days it was fairly easy to eat clean, other days impossible.

It all began last August when we went to Canada, then it was BBQ's for Labor Day, then a short trip with friends to Door County, October was a blur, then the holidays, birthdays, then the Trip.... so, needless to say -- I have not truly been on track for 6 months....

By the time I got home from my 'summer place' - I was up 2 pounds. After the Holidays, another 2, then I gained 6 pounds on our 6 week trip, which included a cruise. [I was pleased to see i was still under 170 ... that would have been crushing to break that barrier again]

NOW -- the big kicker.... I have an apt with a Homeopath today to talk about "Food Intolerances" -- my report was sent to me yesterday and according to the blood test, I have an intolerance to Dairy. [cheese, cream, butter - and anything else dairy]

The list goes on, but dairy will be a tough one for me.

I'll post back later once our appointment is over.

I have decided, after really thinking about it, NOT to do this food elimination thing that this Homeopath wanted me to do... mostly because i do not have any, i mean, ANY issues. Could be a whole bunch of hooey. It would have really ruined my current WOE.

Speaking of the WOE... i am really struggling to get back on plan. Things are not completely 'tossed out the window', but I have not been able to be 'rigid' yet. Things just keep getting in the way. Hopefully very soon.

I have to head back to work in about 2 weeks... and when DH is not there, my eating will be spot on, and i'll be able to get in my morning walks -- which i am so looking forward to.

Terese - I have too many bad eating days lately too. getting rigid, as you aptly put it, is easy when no one else is in the picture. pasta at my sister's house last sunday was unnecessary. They could have had pasta and i could have just had the chicken cacciatore by itself. But I'm bad at resisting temptation. I feel so much better when I eat on plan. last night's dinner was chicken thighs (2) with asparagus and steamed cauliflower with reggiano.

Rob -- i stock up on Dreamfields pasta. that way i can have indulgences. I have always ordered from netrition, but just found it for the same price [$2.49] at a local market. -- think in Wisc is about a buck more.

ops... just found tick crawling on me.... bbl

wheeeew, only the 1 ... brushed to dog too, he didnt have any ... they are really bad this year, and in March nonetheless.

anyways.... I'm still trying.... i've been doing much better, but having difficulty giving up my evening cocktail. I have quit drinking wine [for now] due to the higher sugar content. Our evenings were so wonderful, i'd enjoy a vodka tonic on the patio every night. [30's are coming our way for the next few nights - brrrrrr ]

getting ready to head north for the summer, and with DH not there, i'll be able to get back on track very easily... plus get my walking in. that is one area i have really been lacking -- nonexistent to say the least. so that should get the ball rolling.

I've been trying to spend about 2 or more hrs a day working in the flower beds ... and i feel any time NOT in the kitchen is good time.

ack on the wagon for a few weeks now and down 4 pounds that were put back on during my 6week vacation.

I am finding the hardest park is not having a cocktail in the evening.... went weeks without a glass of wine, but had one for dinner tonight.

went out with a friend and had an awesome Caesar Salad.... which is a staple for me. it is generally what i have if i eat out.

it's going to be a long haul... but one day at a time.. i'll get there.
