    Default Taco seasoning

    Hello All,
    I am curious if any of you have a taco seasoning that you make yourself with various spices. I have used the prepackaged Taco Bell seasoning before (which I do like) but It has been giving me terrible headaches lately, most likely caused by the MSG. So, I thought to myself, Self, why dont you just mix one yourself. The thing is, I dont know where to start. Any suggestions or recipes?

    This is a really good homemade recipe for your own seasoning.
    I make up the huge batch so I always have it on hand.

    (measurements are approximate, but pretty close)

    2 TB chili powder
    2 TB powdered cumin
    1 1/2 paprika (hungarian is actually best - a little hot)
    1 TB onion powder
    1 TB garlic powder
    1/4 tsp cayenne
    2 TB Thick'n'thin NotStarch

    Mix it all up and use a couple of TB for each pound of meat. Put it on when the meat is brown and add about 1/4 cup of water to blend, then cook till it's thick. I often put in a few dashes of Frank's Red Hot, when browning the meat, since I like it a little hot.
