Default Reviving my South Beach Diet (and this forum too?)

I notice it's been over two months since anyone posted here. I restarted my SBD on Jan 1, 2007, after losing 70 lb. with in in 2005, and gaining half of it back by the end of 06.

So far, so good; in the first week I lost 8 lb.

    205/197/170

If anyone else is doing SBD, please let me know; we can probably help each other. :great:

Thumbs up Re: Reviving my South Beach Diet (and this forum too?)

Well I started the SBD last Thursday due to my supervisor at work. So far I am loving it. I like it alot better than Atkins cause I get to eat more veggies. This week I've been really lucky about not having any cravings, especially when I've been cooking pasta and rice for my BF. I really think this a diet I can do forever. Well I really shouldn't call it a diet, its a "change of eating habits" :silly: Like tonight my BF wanted to go to Olive Garden, so I was "okay" cause I can have salad and some soup (just had to fish out the pasta). When I show his food, I had no desire to want any of it. I just saw a big plate of "glue" cause that what it does...gum up the digestion. This is the first diet that its been a week and I haven't cheated yet. Not that I wanted to, but just not worth it.

    Hey there!

I also started back on SB as of January 1st. I've not weighed in this morning yet,
but I had a carb crisis Friday and ate several pieces of pizza and chocolate so I'm
    dreading it.

Hi, I have been on SB for almost three years now. You just have to resolve yourself that this is a new way of life and a healthier one at that! It's ok to cheat once in a while, after all we are all human - but the thing we must remember is that we need to go right back to eatting heathly again.

    Hiya.

I posted a quick reply to you in the other SB forum. SB'ers don't seem to be a chatty bunch, but I know that I would benefit greatly from having someone to talk things over with.

    Thanx!

    Well..........

I never got anywhere in 2007 on my SBD. In fact I ended up gaining to 221 (as of last Sunday). We just got back from vacation, so I decided to start SBD again. Since Sunday I've gone from 221 to 216, a good start. I know last year I didn't stick with it, but also last year I think I tried too much improvising. This time I'm going with what worked in 2005- a literal interpretation of the diet. If it's not in the plan, I'm not eating it.

    Hiya.
I also stalled out on phase 2 - too much improvising (arrgghh!). I gained around 2 pounds during the first few days of phase 1, then dropped that and an additional five pounds. On phase 2, I gained back 3 pounds. That was 3 weeks ago.

This past weekend, my Mom suggested that I put a copy of my food lists on the fridge. As of today, I have already dropped a pound. It's amazing how helpful such a simple change can be.

Just starting to investigate the south beach diet. My friend swears by it and says she is healthier. Only prob I have is that I am probably gluten intolerant so I need a book to keep it straight.
