    Smile What a great idea!

I just found this, and I thought it was a great idea. I play WoW and alot of other PC Games. I see that there's not been much activity in here, so maybe we can get some folks posting.

I still play WoW. I'm a pretty casual player, only have one 80 character, but thinking about reviving my DK, who I sort of left languishing at around 61.

I haven't playing WoW in a while. It gets a tad repetitive if you're not playing with pals. I also have Age Of Conan, but I've never installed it. I usually will go ahead and jump back in when they produce a new add-on, but last time I ended up in a raiding guild and I suddenly had violent flashbacks to High School. That said, it is a hoot. I would describe myself as casual as well, I think I have a level 70. I have an epic mount, and I'm hallowed as an Undead Warlock. Boo!

Good lord, for the uninitiated this must look like two crazy people talking.

I can relate to violent flashbacks to high school.

Having no tolerance for being yelled at by some 13 year old ('scu-u-u-se me for being an arms warrior when you wished I was a tank ... which I never said I was) I've been unguilded for most of my experience. I decided early on to be a businessperson and get rich without buying gold. I've been pretty good at it, buying items and mounts and flying skills for myself and my spouse. I've got 3 bankers to handle stuff.

I like that one can play the game however one wants. My proudest title is "Salty." I'm an ace fisherman.

I came to gaming through one of my kids, starting with D&D - old school with books, dice and notes. Then Might & Magic (first computer game) then, on to Diablo (1 & 2), then a side trip to Baldur's Gate and on to WoW.

... and, yes, this section of the forum has it's own "language". If you look on some of the other threads in this area, you'll see my lame attempts to translate for non-gamers. FAIL!

(hmmm....I guess that was even before there was a gamers forum, in this thread. )

    Hey yall,
I've just recruited a couple of other gamers to lce. Yep, it's a different language. I started playing a bit more, and my pally is 77...
Guilds are funny, I have quit several because of the high school (or was it junior high?) mentality. I'm in a good one now. Adults, most of whom actually have a life and vocabulary outside of wow... After my day with Kindergartners it is kind of nice to chat once in a while and I love the fact that if i get in trouble the guild rallies around. People have also sent me mats to level my bs and weaponsmithing, unasked. They always say they are "dumping junk from bags" but its stuff u could sell for gold lol.

I used to feel sort of odd about the whole thing, but I would compare gaming to what alot of people do all weekend - stare at the TV. I mean, we're involved and thinking and using our minds as we play, and it can be a hoot. I always try to play on a Role Playing server, seems to cut down on the purile a bit. If you can get 8 or 10 friends to start over together there is much fun to be had.

Has anyone heard whether the new addon with allow mounts in Azeroth? I picked up something about that, just wondered if it was true.

Also, this is a GREAT web site for WoW. It's got a more professional/adult tone that almost any other, lots of light hearted humor, and they have deep contacts at Blizzard. If you play there's something there for you. Check it out - WoW.com: The new WoW Insider

Hey, Oonagh! Nice to talk to you again.

David, I never felt odd about gaming, but then again I've been at it since my kids were teens. I've often thought about an RP server. I'm currently on a PVE.

I understand that, in the next major expansion, we'll be able to have flying mounts in all areas - old world, outland, northrend and whatever else they're going to add. I hear they're going to flood parts of Azshara. I don't think it's going to happen in a patch (but I could be wrong, of course).

I love the Insider. Lots of good stuff there. Also, Thottbot and Allakhazam are very useful on a particular quest, item or NPC that you might be looking for. If you're a fisherman, as I am, El's Extreme Anglin' is a great source of information.

Once you're character is big enough to be hanging around Northrend, the Battle for Wintergrasp is great fun. You get to ride around in siege engines, etc. Plus you get honor points and other marks of honor to buy great stuff ... some of which are bind on account, which means you can send them to alts who are trying to level.

Right now, and almost exclusively because of this forum, I am a fighting not to install Age Of Conan. I have never played it, but darned if this discussion doesn't have my MMO bug buzzing. I suppose... there would be nothing wrong... with just installing them. I could see how WoW looks on my new computer. And Age Of Conan doesn't count cause it's free for the first month. That's not even really like I'm playing. Right? Right...

YES! That's what I was thinking... where are my collector's editions? Should be easy to find, the stinking boxes are the size of phone books....

I used to play Guild wars, but when I tired of it and I switched to WoW, that was the biggest problem I had. The graphics in GW are way better.

I am really hoping the next addon improves the graphics, I would probably play again for that reason. At least offer the option for an upgrade.

Oh I don't need to see this! I'm trying to NOT play that silly game..

They patched the game yesterday! All I can think about is the purple epic items that I can get in a few hours of quick random PvP runs!!

Actually all I need to get done before 4 is finding a brilliant supplier of gifts/prizes for a 3 family baby shower my sister is hosting. So far the best one I've had suggested to me is just a promotional products site. Other than some beanies and some hoodies, they have nothing for baby's and nothing really cool for new moms.. Unless I got some "oops" towels, but how "fun" is that?

Perhaps I should just get some WoW plushies, since apparently EVERYONE is a closet WoW player?

    Must focus... Hehehe!

Haha! Me too! I started from day one as a Paladin that cooks, fishes, picks flowers, and makes potions. Talk about "support" character! People were complaining about the daily quests in Dalaran and I couldn't understand since they only take me a couple minutes with my setup? What's so hard about cooking some hot dogs and picking some mustard plants? I have the meat in my bank, I had the recipe before I found Dalaran, and herbalism shows me where all the mustard is on the mini map?

    Hey, Lexie.

My main is an herbalist/alchemist, too. With that and the secondary professions, this combo turned out to be a great way to make a good living while leveling.

If the families of the baby shower babies are gamers, of any kind, jinx has a bunch of stuff for babies & kids.
