Started induction on 12/29, weighed today and I'm down 7 lbs! I need to lose 125 lbs total which is overwhelming for me. Need all the encouragement I can get, low will power!

crfields - I'm sure others in this forum will tell you the same thing, but think of your weigthloss goals in terms of minigoals instead (lose 10, non-food reward, lose another 10, non-food reward, etc). It helps so much to not get overwhelmed by the big picture. Oh, and BTW, good job on losing 7 lbs

    Congratulations on the 7 pounds.
I have a total of 107 pounds to lose. I agree with Jestey, I do it in 10 pound increments. Makes me feel successful to do it that way. I have been successful 3 times and have my fourth goal in site.

Congrats on the 7# loss. The longer you stick w/LCE the more control u will get. Cravings will subside. I always thought I had no will power but now understand my insulin resistance always made me crave food. No more...

I have to lose 105 more but I just focus on this day, today..
Look forward to your progess and welcome to LCE!

    crfields:

My best advice to you is to stay off the scale. Keep on plan, and just weigh once each month. You'll be astonished with the results a month from now. If you weigh more frequently, you may become discouraged with daily and weekly weight fluctuations, for various reasons.

Trust me...it's best for your frame of mind just now. I've been there...

Congrats on staring your new WOE. This is a great site for help and support. Let me add one thing to everyone else's good advice. MEASURE YOURSELF. This WOE is not only about losing pounds it is also about losing inches. Many times you won't show a weight loss but you will show inches lost.
I have no idea why (science etc was not my best subject in school). Good luck and keep coming back.

Everyone here has given you such great advice. It is so much easier to look at short term goals and not think so much about the bigger picture. When I first started this, I wanted to loose 110 pounds. Now I am only 40 pounds away from that goal. You will get there sooner than you think if you stick to your plan. (Unlike me who fell off of the wagon over the holidays.. lol)

    Take care and welcome!!!

Congrats on your loss so far!!! What great advice above...all those baby steps add up

Deb...I too had 200 to lose to get to goal...and I know my goal is well above what those charts say for me. But pound by pound they do come off, when you stay true to plan.

Good luck Debs! The advice above is good and I'm trying to follow. Kamren, you're right it does come off. I've now lost 10lbs!

I've tried to change my mindset on setting weight loss goals. My goal right now is to get below 200. That's only 16 pounds away, and not too overwhelming. I can't remember the last time I was below 200, and will definitely splurge on a non-food treat for myself. (maybe a smaller new outfit!) When I get to 200, I'll set another small goal. I've been overweight since I was about 8 or 9, so I really don't know if my final goal of 135 is reasonable or not. I'll just keep setting one small goal after another, and reevalutate at that point.

one day at a time. one pound at a time. weigh 1 month at a time. measure 1 time a month. Buy you some new clothes 1 time a month. EASY DOES IT.
I have lost 84 lbs, i still need about 30 more. Hang in there if i can you can. But do them in ones. You'll have more success.
