Kitty A couple of my Furkids...

Here's a couple of my furkids I thought I'd share. The black kitty is Jules, who's very inquisitive and likes to get into stuff. In other words, she's a real cat. She's very sweet, kinda jumpy, and, I think, definitely psychic. She comes up and "talks" to me whenever I'm having a rough day. You'd think she knew exactly what I was saying, too.

The gray kitty is Vega. Vega knows how to live it up, man. Never seen a more content cat in my life...he's a snuggle monster and likes to sleep. A lot. He also likes to sleep on his back with his paws in the air. You tell me this cat doesn't think he owns the universe, man...

(Yes, they are named for Pulp Fiction. Nope, it wasn't me that named 'em, but it's me that takes care of 'em!)

Absolutely adorable furkids, Dix! How cool that Jules is so in tune with you. Vega sounds like one cool cat.

Modie was so much that way, knew me so well and all my emotions. Would come to me if I was sad, etc. Ozzie never was. Funny thing happened when Modie passed away, Ozzie took on that characteristic. Interesting, eh?

I love this new forum!

Thanks, Sus!

That's funny Ozzie picked up the slack. I really do think those little critters can tune into our emotions to at least some degree.

I credit Jules for being in tune with me because when I'm especially stressed, she'll hop in my lap. She is NOT a lap cap, so it's pretty unusual. Only when she's not feeling good, or when I'm not. Once in a blue moon, she'll get the snugglies, but usually, she's too busy doing "cat stuff".

Gorgeous kitties, Dixie. Bet Vega sleeping on his back is quite a sight--that surely is a sign of a very contented, self-confident cat. Both your furkids look like they have plenty of personality

Thank for sharing that wonderful story of your little ones especially Jules. I used to have a cat but my allergies have gotten worse over the years. Not even shots have helped. Can hear how you are one proud furmama and you should be. They are adorable! Give them a good snuggle for me.

I wonder if your Vega is related to a cat I used to have. He always slept on his back with all four legs sprawled, letting all the white fur on his belly show. One of the few cats I've ever had that loved getting a belly rub.

Gorgeous cats, btw.

thanks nita. vega is one of the few cats i've had that will let me rub his belly, too. maybe they were related! i know the belly thing cats have is defensive, so a cat that will lay on his back feels very safe and comfortable.

sometimes, the silly little critter will hop up in my lap when i'm working and arrange himself on his back nestled in my arm just like you'd hold an infant. we cuss him he's so darned cute sometimes....lol

of course, in such situations, i always have to interrupt my work a few minutes to pet him...

oh no! heather, i'd be heartbroken if i couldn't keep my kitties. i'm so sorry...

i have a couple others, but those were just the first two pix i ran across...i will give them a snuggle, and will tell them it's from a "babybluejay," so they should be nice to birds, too....

Beautiful (and handsome!) cats goddess. I have 3 furkids-all had been abandoned, abused, and starved. And they all have "issues". The old man of the group, Ignatz, is 15 and now having trouble with hypothyroidism. He was an angry cat for many years but has now become a little love monkey. Loves the laptime. He's a tuxedo cat with a big, pink, bazooka nose.
Isis is 8 and has a beautiful plush black coat. She's happy and friendly and hasn't met a food group she doesn't like. I have to watch her weight but that's difficult as she was starved almost to death as a kitten and becomes anxious if the food bowl is taken away.
Nutmeg is a calico with beautiful green eyes-she's 5 years old and was beaten and abandoned. I found her with a broken hip and ribs. It's taken awhile but she's warmed up and loves to cuddle. She's terrified of men though.
Love the kitties.

How sad! I'm so glad they found their way to you, where they can be loved and cared for.

Hasn't met a food group she doesn't like? My kitties are fairly pudgey as well and complain bitterly to me if there is not dry food availble, in BOTH of the two food dishes, at all times. They also get canned food in the morning, and you'd think it had been weeks since they've eaten every morning. I get throughly scolded if I'm inconsiderate enough to sleep in...

Poor thing. It's so gratifying to know she's made such progress, though...

If you get around to it, post us some pix, too. They sound gorgeous...

Thanks! They needed grooming, but I think they're cute even so.

Sus, they both weigh 14ish pounds. Token is taller and lanky, at about 15 inches at the shoulder. Khaki is, em, more compact and about 13.5 inches at the shoulder.

Oh Susie! I can't believe it's been that long! Let's plan a thread in his honor here next month, ok?

Katalina, you've done wonders with your rescue kitties. Thank goodness for people like you!
