she is one of the most photogenic cats i've ever seen, i have to add. and yes, laundry can be a challenge here, too. i have to put an old rag rug on top of the basket when i leave it out between loads so the cats don't manage to re-attach their hair after i've gotten the clothes clean. and i'll even cop to folding some clothes and leaving them next to the basket for a while because the basket had a happy resident napper that i didn't have the heart to remove...

Awww...you're a good furmom to not disturb the napper!

Rob..Yes! Isn't it amazing how intertaining a paper bag can be to cats and toddlers? Kassie had a blast at Christmas when we opened gifts. She didn't know wheather to hop in the boxes, or jump on the paper and make it crackle! She wore herself out, for sure! I can see Splenda totally ignoring the toy and going straight for the wrapper!

Well...I can see that this laundry basket thing may become a problem! I put the basket on top of the dryer to get it out of the way since Kass's food and water bowls are in the laundry room.
Well, the little darlin' jumped up onto the dryer, and obviously into the basket causing the basket to fall off the dryer, then hitting her water bowl, which most of sloshed out onto the floor, under her placemat and then a little puddle on the floor as well. I went running in there when I heard the crash; Kassie was fine, but had wet pussy paws, from landing in the water, I'm guessing. She looked up at me and let out the tiniest little "mew", aka, "oops!...mom caught me!" ha!
Sooooo...she has a thang for the laundry basket right now! It's a cat brain thing...yanno...once a cat has something on their brain, it STAYS on their brain until they get their way! LOL!

Just another furmom day! heheh...and I do love it!

Thankfully that bed does have a bedskirt, but I will know there's a hole in it! hehe! I'm pretty sure it won't bother me that bad....after we get it patched, that is!
so what you're saying is "out of sight out of mind" is a male thing.

I sometimes ask for paper bags at the grocery store just for splenda.

Rob...uhhh....that would be a YES! LOL!

Kassie continues to be VERY spooked and afraid of T-storms, and I don't blame her one little bit, especially after the doozies we had last night! YIKES! HUGE-A-MONGUS light show and LOUD thunder to go with!
We're heating up rapidly today so that may fire off another round this evening. The good thing was, we had an inch of rain in the raingauge this morning. Yay!

Bren...oh yeah...BIG TIME bratty teenager!! LOL!

I must say though, in defense of my little darlin', she has some unique characteristics/habits. The three that are totally hilarious are:
1. Kass RUNS to the fridge door when she hears us getting ice. She pounced on a little chip of ice about a month or so ago, and must've discovered she likes it. Now, she runs to the fridge, and stares us down until we give her ICE!!! She may swat at it once or twice, but she actually CRUNCHES it and eats it!

2. When I get the sf whipped cream aerosol can out of the fridge and pop the lid off, and SHAKE the can, she again shows up, in full run, to get her *lick* of whipped cream. There is usually a little blob in the nozzle, and I squeeze it out on my finger and let her have a *lick*. Then handwashing ensues, the nozzle is washed, and the can goes back in the fridge. Then again, we get *stared down* until our sf jello is finished, and she again can have a *lick* of the cream that's left in the cup.

3. This is probably the most hilarious thing she does. She will watch and wait as I am folding laundry, and when I get to the socks, she jumps up on the sofa(where I usually fold laundry so I can watch TV at the same time), and STEALS a sock, or sometimes DH's bulky, work socks that have been *bundled* together...yanno...folded and turned inside one sock, so they stay together? When she *steals* a big gray sock bundle, she can hardly walk with it, but she gets it in her mouth, and off she goes!
Where, you may ask, does she take the socks? Why, back to the laundry room of course! And, sometimes she puts them in her food bowl, just for good measure. Often times her toys end up in her food bowl. When she is through playing with her little green mousie, she will pick him up and take him to the food bowl!
Now, isn't that every mother's dream, for her furkin to put their toys up when they are finished playing??? LOL!

I am going to try to get pics of her doing all her little tricks. It may take a while, but I'll work on it.

OK...off to see what the above mentioned furkin is doing! Heaven only knows!

OK...today was suture/staple removal day for the Kass.

The vet tech took her back to the exam room, and I had to wait in the lobby. I heard Kassie let out a pretty big *yeow*...poor baby. When the tech brought her back out to me, she said "I guess you heard her? She(Kassie) was "verbal" over one staple that was in pretty deep." Poor baby.

I got her home and we snuggled for a few minutes, then she was off to her favorite spot for a nap. I think all is forgiven!

Today's pics after we got home:
1. on the left...*Looking cute!*

2. on the right...just a pretty girl! LOL!

Poor thing...it might have helped her be a little less mad at Mom that you didn't get to go in there.

I'm definitely glad it's all done for both of you! And Rob's right: being cute is definitely her full time job!

Played around in photoshop a little today; here's the result.

Let's call it "Diva-kitty with a cattitude".

LOL!...yeah, or she'll do just the opposite and won't be still for a pic for nothing! Cat brain thang yanno!

Well, you will not believe what the little darlin' diva kitty has done....again. She has done the same thing to the under liner of our box springs in our bedroom! Yep...made herself a hole and crawled up into the box springs! This is the third time she has done this. AARRGGHHH....this does not make mama (or daddy) happy! We already keep the doors closed to the bedrooms, and only let her in at night. This little girl is making me scratch my head! LOL! We've never had a cat do these type of destructive things. She is persistent, I can tell ya that for sure! Looks like we'll be patching and mending some more of Kassie's handiwork!
Not what I wanted for Mother's day! hehe!

Boy, Dix...you've got that right about the persistent thang! Pretty sure that's a cat brain thang as well!

I think DH is going to flip all the box springs over and we are going to staple gun on some material, probably old sheets/linens I don't use anymore. I don't thinkshe could get through that as easily, and maybe she'd give it up. OTOH, cat brain, so dunno.....

And cute just goes so far, yanno? LOL! If I could actually catch her in the act, then I'd squirt her with the water bottle. She's a sneaky lil dickens I tell ya!

Today's new thang to make mama get after her is twinkle-toeing on the kitchen counters and getting up on the window sill over the kitchen sink! She got herself trapped between the window and the wood shutters! Oye! When I saw her there, and she knew she was busted, I got the famous *Kassie eye blink*...yanno...when a cat looks right at you and blinks their eyes, and you know in their cat brain they are thinking "oh sh*t, she caught me!...now what do I do?" Yep...that was the look I got.(formerely referred to at our house as the *Fu eye blink* after the Fu-kitty, who was Queen of the blink!)
