Default Slower weight loss the second time around

This is my second go around on Low carb and i had a much faster weight loss last time. Of course last time was about 10 years ago. I suppose everyone is right when they say its easier to lose weight when your younger lol. Anyway I have decided that my portion sizes and choice of snacks are the culprit this time. Along with the fact that i was much more active 10 years ago. So its time to tighten the reigns and get myself back in gear and moving. My treadmill is just sitting there in the bedroom all lonely lol so i will start visiting it regularly everyday.

Ah yeah. It is the way of the world, huh? Sounds like you have a good attitude, though. No crying over slower losses. Just making a strategy to keep on moving in the right direction.

And may your treadmill never be lonely again!

I've noticed the same thing too. I have a hunch it has less to do with how many times you've done lc, and more to do with age, metabolism, and ability to do higher levels of exercise. Maybe higher expectaions play a role too.

I tested a theory on this (well, I'm still testing) starting in January. I took a "break" over the holidays. When January came, I thought that since I had been so faithful for the previous year and a half, a short break could be overcome quickly. Wrong! (You were right Goddess). It came off even slower than it had 2 years earlier, which was slower than the other couple of times in the years preceding that. I think that for many folks, this is the rule. But if you're determined, it won't matter that much once the weight starts coming off. One thing I learned at this forum that allowed me to persist is: you WILL have stalls, and they can last for months (that's with an "s"). It doesn't mean the WOE has stopped working for you. It just means you have to be more patient.

And yes, I find that the more I age, the more I need to exercise to augment this WOE. Just out of curiosity...does your treadmil have clothes hanging on the rails? ()

Age, kids, lack of time for self...all that gets factored into the equation!

Fast weight loss feels good but may not be good for maintaining weight 'cause its so easy you do not really learn the steps to making it last forever.

If you lose more slowly this time try to stay aware of the behaviors that get you success. For example, avoiding the cookies you bought for the kids or positive attitude vs. getting upset that you are not losing as fast as you used to....

The goal is not how fast can I lose weight, it should be lifetime loss for whatever I lose!

Keep your PMA (positive mental attitude) and you'll get there.

I think if you stick to it you will achieve anything. I have always had weight problems ever since I was little. the scary thing is, is I am only 24 years old. I have noticed that it is getting harder to loose the weight than anything good luck!!
