Default another newbie to low carb here

Just joined today, but have been low(to me) carbing it for over a month and love it so far. Have some headaches, but know I need to eat more. I find it hard still to eat more meat and cheeses and still will only eat eggwhites, but I feel like I eat all the time, it is just that vegetables and such are so filling!! Any comments or ideas would be greatly appreciated. I am so glad to have found this site, my family and friends think I am obsessing about my new lifestyle.

I love it too...... both this site and low carb eating! I had no trouble switching to more meat as we were eating less meating thinking it was healthy. My husband loves it that I switched to this way of eating and he is not following it. I just add side dishes to whatever I cook. The FitDay journal (Free) is a great tool that I use and between that and this site keeps me highly motivated.

I find that cooking new dishes keeps it interesting. Always trying something new.

Cheryl, don't be afraid to eat egg yolks, they are the most nutritious part of the egg, and the best tasting, too.

Here's a really good blog about eggs:

Dr. Jonny Bowden's Blog: More Good News on Eggs

I could eat just meat and rarely touch veggies, unless they are fresh from the garden - then they are just irresistible! Can't wait for the first crop this year.

Make sure you are getting a variety of meats, too. Beef, pork, fish, poultry, mix it up, and you'll find that you'll enjoy eating your protein a lot more. My favorites are pork, beef and dark meat chicken. And don't forget all the varieties of fish, including tuna, salmon and mackerel, if you like them. Even sardines, if you care for them.

Don't worry about obsessing - we all do it! This is such a great way of eating, how can we help but obsess because it's improving our health so much?

i agree with the yolks!!! and if you're eating a bit more fat, you won't need to be eating all the time, cause you'll be fuller - something i discovered after a week of atkins induction (see my "i am starving post" )

so far on induction (including the week i wasn't doing it properly!! , i have lost 7.5 pounds....how exciting!! so goood to get on the scale and have a lower number. i may conquer that scale-fear yet!

good luck to you, and feel free to be a bit obsessed...better than being obsessed with cake!

take care, tracy
