| So, I got the Land O'Lakes Sweet Cream Salted Whipped Butter because it didn't have "p.h.o." listed. I don't know that I like it, though. "Whipped" is not how I'd describe it! It's actually very firm. I like Blue Bonnet much better - nice and buttery .I've always seen that we are to use butter, not margarine, but I realized I'd never seen what brand most people use. So what do you use?

| I use whatever butter is on sale, usually a house brand. If I should run out before the next sale, I get the Costco brand Kirkland.

| I buy Walmart's store brand, I think it's called Great Value, regular butter. It comes salted or unsalted. I think you can get Land Of Lakes Butter that is in a container and is whipped. If you want it to be soft just leave it out on your counter before you use it for awhile. katlupe |

| All margarine is going to have trans fats in it. Besides, nothing tastes like real butter. I'm not interested in paying for air (the "whipped" part of whipped anything) so I buy my butter in stick form ... usually winds up being Land 'o Lakes because the store brand at my usual supermarket is not as good.

| We use store-brand butter from Publix because it's a lot cheaper than any other we've found, and we can't taste the difference. Also, I found this recipe (by Jennifer Eloff ) recently, and we've been using it on veggies and for spreading. We really like it. Healthy Butter Per serving (1 tsp.): 42.5 calories, 0.0 g protein, 4.8 g fat, 0.0 g carbs This is a clever way to make butter healthier and higher in monounsaturated fats. The taste is just like butter, plus it spreads easily straight from the refrigerator. 1 lb butter, softened 1 1/2 cups light-tasting olive oil In blender, process butter and olive oil until soft, creamy and smooth. Turn out (using a soft spatula) into plastic container with lid and refrigerate until set.

| Thanks, everyone! I'm going back to Blue Bonnet then. Nadine, sounds like a very easy way to get what I've been seeing some on the shelves (butter w/olive oil).

| Eat real butter. Store brands are usually just fine. How much variation can there be in plain old fat? For excellent oil alternatives, use olive oil or coconut oil, which have other health benefits. |
