| One of my major concerns is dry skin. I am right in the middle of my change and it has dried me out. I use a couple different things for that and they work good. But not from the nutrient stand point. I kept thinking my addition of non-lowfat foods would help when I started this way of eating, as Dr. Atkins did mention that in his book. But it did not work for me. So I will see what happens. In the meantime, just wondering how many people use supplements and what kinds? And how did you decide what you needed? And the results? katlupe |

| Kathleen - I take a multivitamin/mineral (Centrum), Vitamin b complex, vitamins c and d, and a fish oil Omega 3 capsule. I just recently started taking a joint support multipack called flax that I bought at vitamin shoppe. It's supposed to help with joint support, joint construction and joint luibrication. after 32 days of taking it my hip pain is less severe and doesn't come calling as often. If it's dry skin relief you're after read this: Skin health using vitamins, minerals, and other nutrients from OnHealth

| Hello Katlupe, Once you recieve your copy of The Stubborn Fat Fix, you will be able to answer this question for yourself. Supplements are suggested based on answers to the "metabolic overdrive" questions so you will see which specifically fit your needs. In general, I suggest: 1. Multivitamin/mineral 2. Calcium/magnesium/Vit D, with boron and other minerals that promote bone growth 3. Essential fat, ie Omega 3 I like Nordic Naturals (no after burp) If you have gas/bloat, headache, stomach issues, acidophilus is good and there are others, like COQ10, Alpha lipoic acid, L-carnitine (I have seen the CoQ10 and carnitine help with weight loss), L glutamine for cravings, if you are eating full meals and snacking on real food/protein healthy fats and still are hungry... I hope this helps for now. |
