Default Soy Is In Everything!

I have been reading labels like crazy. Trying to make sure nothing has sugar or it's relatives in anything I buy. Sometimes, I use something with it in it hoping it's not too much. Now, I am learning that soy is something to get rid of too. I did not know it was very bad for you! My husband loves soy sauce on foods.....not alot but his pork chops when we have them. Is that bad for him? I had bought more than a few packages of salmon and it is in there too. It is in almost everything I checked! The mayonnaise, salad dressings, etc. Even in my new vitamins! I am really bummed over this. I want to eat healthy, but it is in everything.

Yep, soy is the granddaddy of frankenfoods for sure! We can thank it for the proliferation of trans fats in our foods. It comes under a slew of different names so can be hard to spot on labels and is often just listed as artifical flavouring or seasonings. We've been doing our best at our house to avoid soy for a couple of years now and it does get easier. I make our own salad dressings and we use Hellman's original mayonaise which has no soy. Mayonaise isn't hard to make but it's a pain in the butt if you are really busy. Good luck with it!
