| I've been on the atkins diet for 2 days so far, and i'm loving it! I did it before a few years and got really good results, but don't think I was eating enough veg or variety and got bored. Now I am older and have moved out of my parents home, I am planning my meals better. I'd really like to stick to it until I reach goal, then go on the maintainance program. My appetite has gone right down, and i'm really enjoying it so far, and the scales show 3 lbs less already! |

Lauz. There is no reason that low/controlled carb eating has to be boring. There are lots of great recipes available. And yes, you must eat your veggies, if not , you are not following Atkins. Congratulations on your weight loss. Since you don't havea lot to lose, your rate of loss may slow down. Don't be discouraged, that is just the way it works. Remember, this is not a diet, but a healthy way of eating for the rest of your life. Good luck.

| Thank you, i'm really excited about it, even though I only want to lose 24lbs, it makes such a difference, as i'm only 5'2 |

I'm 5'3" and it seems that 10 pounds feels like 20 pounds on my body. I have pants that won't fit if I gain just that much which doesn't take very long for me. C ngrats on the 3 pounds!! You should join in some of the threads for added support. It's a great way to keep focus. |

| Hello Lauz! Glad to have you with us. The first time I did Atkins, I made the same mistake: not enough veggies or variety. I didn't have the book (oops!) and wasn't really doing the plan right. The second time, however, "took," since I did my homework first and I've been happy with this way of eating ever since. Congrats on your good start! Looking forward to getting to know you. ![]() |
