| Welcome back Nitro! Those elephant size carb portions will get you every time. LOL As for the shakes that's usually a YMMV kind of thing. What are the main ingedients? what kind of sweetener do they use. If you're on induction I suggest you wait to include these in your food plan. Good Luck! |

| Good to see you again, Nitro! Myoplex is a good brand, just check to make sure there are no sugar alcohols in the shakes. I personally use Champion brand of whey protein powder and make my own shakes when I want a quick breakfast. I wish you much success on your low carb journey.

| good to see you again, nitro! i agree with the other folks about the shakes...later on, they would probably be fine for occassional use, but especially during induction, i would stick to real food as much as possible. i'm also wondering if you're wanting to use shakes for meal repalcement in order to try and speed up the process? i understand the thinking, but i gotta tell you, that's more or less a "diet" orientation, and it can definitely get lead to regaining lost weight. it's when you shift your focus from "hurry and get done with this diet!" to making habitiual changes to just how you eat everyday that you go from the yo-yo loss/regain cycle to the staying where you wanna be place. give it some thought... glad to have you rejoin us.

| Thanks to all of you ok , heres the label of the myoplex carb control (3g net carbs) Calories : 150 Calories from fat : 30 Total Fat : 3.5 g Trans Fat 0 g Saturated fat : 0 g Cholestrol : 15 g Sodium 430 mg potassium 490 mg total carb - 5 g Dietary fibre : 2 g Sugars 1 g Protein : 25 g - ready to drink pack - Other Ingrediants : Filtered water, protein blend (soy protein isolate, whey protein concentrate and calcium caseinate), Less than 2% of: high oleic sunflower oil, vitamin and mineral blend (magnesium phosphate, potassium citrate, sodium ascorbate, vitamin A palmitate, betacarotene, dl-alpha-tocopheryl acetate, niacinamide, zinc gluconate, calcium pantothenate, pyriidoxine hydrochloride, riboflavin, manganese gluconate, thiamine hydrochloride, folic acid, biotin, chromium chloride, potassium iodide, phytonadione, sodium molybdate, sodium selenite, cyanocobalamin), natural and artificial flavors, cottonseed fiber, sodium hexametaphosphate, sucralose, carrageenan, acesulfame potassium and xanthan gum. Contains milk and soy ingredients oh and by the way , i dont wanna drink shakes to accelerate weight loss , the reason i got just 24 shakes was because in times of emergency when i dont have anythin to eat , or if im at office , i can just drink 1 shake and feel better , rather than starving and slowing down my metabolism.. the taste of these shakes are HORRIBLE though.. i love atkins , ive been doin it on and off since 2000 lol , i just have to make sure i have my induction foods ready at all times.. i love eating egg sunny side up without any bread , its a good and satisfying breakfast! oh by the way.. is this true??? | I think those shakes look fine for the emergency situation. I relied on shakes to some extent when I first started. It was a way to have an appropriate meal when I hadn't planned properly (or found myself somewhere with no appropriate foods to eat - like a seminar where "breakfast" was nothing but rolls, bagels and muffins )As for the bread you linked to, the ingredients look appropriate but I think they're fudging with the carb count. I simply do not accept ZERO as a carb count for any prepared food. I'd be counting it as a few carbs per slice.

| The shakes seem to have no unacceptable ingredients. I agree with Maggie, zero carb seems too good to be true. But if it is a couple carbs per slice then it's certainly low carb enough for me. |

| Nitro, the shake ingredients look ok to me, too. I really prefer to make my own, though, using whey protein powder (I got a Magic Bullet blender just for that reason). But the ready-to-drink are good for the emergency when you can't get to a meal, and you really need some protein in you. The bread does look good, but it has to have carbs, looking at the ingredients, but the count would be very, very low. If you try it, do a review for us.

| Welcome, Nitro!!! It's so nice to "meet" you. And I agree that the shake is okay. But I am with QueenMama, it is better to make your own. That way you know exactly what is in there and you can tailor it to your tastes. I, too, bought a Magic Bullet. I got the deluxe one from HSN. I love that thing!!!
