Hi, John.

You are using the forum correctly. This is a bulletin board, not a chat room. So you leave a message and then, whenever members come on the forum at different times of the day and night, they'll respond. It's not instantaneous like a chat room.

So, which low carb plan are you following?

Welcome John!

My personal opinion is the Atkins rocks! I am doing so well on it that I would not want to try anything else. I am fairly new and two things have helped me tremendously.......this forum and the free fitday food journal. Every night I put all my food in the food journal, and it lets me know if I ate something too high in carbs.

I also find it useful to be informed and read all the low carb books I can find and go to all the low carb sites. Then when someone bad mouths it.....I know the facts about it! It also helps me to know exactly how the LCE plan works.

The cooking section on here is great with all the recipes and the five a day thread has really helped me also. If you have any questions ask them here and someone will know the answer.

Good luck!

Welcome, John!

Atkins is a very good plan, the one most of us here use, and I think the second most popular is Protein Power, and that book really explains the science behind low carb.

Read all you can find, ask questions!

Wishing you much success.

Hi John,

I have been following the Atkins plan for a few years now. It is the best plan for me.

What part of England are you from. My DW (dear wife) is from Leicester in the east midlands.

John, I used to be a big bread eater, in more ways than one. However, I was surprised to find that after following Atkins, I no longer crave or desire bread. However, here is a link to a thread that provides a low carb alternative that many use to replace bread or muffins.
1-minute muffin
