Salad Hello ! :-)

Hi everyone

I've done Atkins before, but never made it past the 7th day.. I knowAtkins work's
for me..I could feel the inche's coming off & I never felt hungry and had lot's
of energy in those 7 day's...I went off b/c I got bored with it..dumb huh..
I think my problem was, I wasn't trying out any recipe's, I was just too lazy I guess..

I really want & need to get rid of this 40lbs that's been hanging on for umpteen
year's!.. So I'm starting tomorrow on the 4th..I won't be lazy this time.. I'm going to try out the recipes .. I may need lot's of support.. I'm also here to offer my
support to all who need it..

I'm looking forward to meeting everyone!

Eileen

Welcome, Eileen.

Taking time going through the recipes sounds like a great idea. It takes a bit of practice, but having plenty of stuff that works for your plan and you like eating is really key.

I'd also suggest you eye some low carb cookbooks. I am not a born cook, so i look for simple recipes and if the ingredients are easy to come by, that's another big plus. Dana Carpeter and George Stella are a couple of my personal favorites.

Eileen, you can go to George Stella's website. His story is interesting, he's lost more than 250 pounds doing low carb, his son lost 160 and his wife lost 75. He's a chef, so his recipes are quite good. I have 2 of his cookbooks. His cheesecake is to die for!

Sheila, I think there is a lot of that. When one member of the family starts LCing and doing well, it is pretty common for the others to end up improving their eating habits sooner or later. Sometiems out of support, sometimes because they want the same benefits as the LCer. But often, I think the see how much of a tremendous difference it makes and that, with some practice, it's so much easier than they thought it would be. It's worth it!
