Hello I am SheilaA and am new here today. I am searching for a way to lose some weight and i know Low carb has worked for many people.. I am 5'5" and now weigh 193.. This is an all time high for me.. I am an out of control eater and seem to have lost my willpower to fight.. I definatley need a lot of support to keep me motivated.. I just turned 50 this past Feb.2... I am longing to get fit again and feel good. That's my story and i hope to change it. Please stop by and say hello..

to LCE Sheila. A good starting point is to understand why and how low carb eating works. I suggest you look at the Atkins approach, Protein Power, Zone, and South Beach and decide what makes the most sense for you. Most posters here, like me, follow Atkins, but others follow other established plans. I believe you will be better off picking and established plan to follow, rather than "winging it". Most find that an established plan gives them a good base to get into a sustainable l/c lifestyle. Later, you may need to tweak the plan to address your individual needs and reaction. Good luck.

Welcome, Sheila!

Atkins & PP are both excellent plans, and you should have success following either.

Wishing you much success!

Hi sheila ..I'm not sure either lol..I guess we can start by logging what we've eaten for the day..Have you started your program yet? I'm starting mine first thing tomorrow..I've had company and couldn't concentrate on my first few day's...So beginning tomorrow I'll log what I've had to eat ..How does that sound?? ..I'm a greenhorn here, so any input from the more 'experienced' would be great!

Eileen that will be a great start.. I did start already but have not writen down anything. I will be glad to start doing so tomorrow , since you are starting tomorrow. My thing will be drinking the water we need.. I drink water in the summer, but it is hard for me to drink it in the cooler weather. But if i have someone reminding me to drink up, Like someone named Eileen, I will do better.. Is there anything you want me to help you remember? This will be so much more fun with a partner.. lol.. I also need to start my walking again.. So that may be something else you remind me to do.. I do not work outside the home so i can do it any time of the day, i just get wrapped up in other things and forget i need to go..

Ok so I will start writeing down my food intake tomorrow.
Ok so i will start writeing down my food intake tomorrow.
Ok so i will start writeing down my food intake tomorrow.

Now that i have said it three times i hope i can remember to do it. lol

Hi Sheila, sound's like you have a memory like me!

Ok, that sound's good...I think it would be a good idea to start our own journaling right away..I've never journaled before..I think that was alot of my failure before too..not keeping myself accountable...
I want to do LCE right this time..NO excuses!!
It sound's like you want the same thing.. sooooo..we can do this, it'll be a piece of cake..oops..I should say a slab of bacon

I sometime's forget to get all my water in too, especially in the afternoon..I'm ok in the morning, I like to have 2 large glasses before my morning coffee, otherwise my stomach start's making these weird noises, not to mention feeling hungery right away...So yeah, we have to drink lot's throughout the day..guzzle, guzzle, guzzle
