| Hi Jo, to LCE!!I would very much recommend that you study a few of the LC plans(Atkins, Protein Power, are 2 very popular plans) and find what's right for you, then get the book and read about your plan. This way, you KNOW how to eat and what to expect. Not to mention, you will have an instant referrence when needed. Education about your plan works far better than *just winging it*, yanno? This is a great place for support and info, 'cause the folks here are just the best! Best wishes on your journey to healthy eating and weight loss! hth s

| Hiyas Jo, Definately pick up Atkin's New Diet Revolution and read it cover to cover. Once you understand the basics, low carbing isn't too hard to do, but you do have to be vigilente, know what to look for, how to read labels (you'll have to get REALLY used to that!), how to shop. Taking a little time to educate yourself will go a long way to helping you low carb in a way that's healthy and effective. As far as "no carbs" - that's just about impossible to do, and not particularly healthy. But the carbs you do have have to be "quality" - from things like fresh veggies, some nuts, some fruits, etc. Hope that helps, Sue |

| Welcome, Jo. ![]() Sound advice above. Picking a plan and then reading up on it is an important first step. Hope you'll make yourself at home here.

| Well, I don't want to sway you, but I certainly love Atkins. Most important is to get the book of the plan you follow and read and reread it constantly. I carry my Atkins book with me when I go anywhere and read it when I have to sit and wait. All I can say is that it works and works very well if you follow it. You might want to check out http://www.fitday.com/ as that also gives you that extra motivation. ![]() katlupe |

Well, I can't pick your plan, but can say that Atkins is probably the most popular here, with Protein Power in second. Ultimately, though, the best plan for you is going to be the one that works best for you and your life...
