Smile Hi Everyone!

My name is Nichole, 24, and have been struggling with my weight for a long time. My mother is a type 1 diabetic, so it runs in the family. I've been reading about low carb dieting and hope to find advice on LCE.

Nicole. There are a number of good established low carb methods. You should start by reading up on various plans, like Atkins, Protein Power, and South Beach to understand the science behind low carb eating and why it works. A good place to start would be Dr. Atkin's New Diet Revolution. Most people have better success working with an established plan, rather than trying to "wing it" based on what they might have heard. Good luck.

I am starting out slow, I have been reading about the south beach diet and also atkins. For right now my boyfriend and I have been cutting out our sugars and carbs we are trying to keep the carbs around 30 grams a day.
