230 on June 1 - 199 on Aug 1

Default 230 on June 1 - 199 on Aug 1

Hello everyone. I started the Atkins' June 1st at 230lbs and today (Aug 7th) I'm 202! Amazing. Actually I weighed in at 199 on Aug 1st but now I am 202 - go figure. The only thing I can think of that would cause some weight gain is I haven't been drinking a gallon of water in the last few days.

I really look forward belonging to this forum to keep me motivated to my goal to 160lbs.

That is a fantastic loss Mistr E! I wouldn't worry about that little fluctuation if I was you. Could be the scale. Could be the water weight thing. Just try to get your water in.....I know that is what I have trouble doing sometimes. Instead take your measurements as that is a much better judge of loss than the scale anyway. Welcome! Ron, on the loss. You are off to a great start!! Don't be discouraged when the losses stall. It happens to us all as your body adjusts. While you should not expect the rate of loss to continue, isn't nice to see those results? Good luck on your weight loss journey.

Wow! You are indeed off to a great start. Now, don't sweat the fluxes-that's WAY normal, as Henry mentioned and Kat mentioned, could be any one of a number of things. Don't live and die by the scale as long as you feel good and it's trending in the right way overall. Think long term, baby!

I'm looking forward to a lot of conversation and stories. Oh, by the way, my goal is to get enough weight off and be fit for skiing this winter.

Thanks Barb, I get on almost everyday. The stories are helpful and encouraging.
I have stalled though and look forward to some weight loss soon. My work out remains the same as well as my diet. I think my body must be adjusting.

Ron, stalls are probably the most frustrating and necessary part of losing weight, as your body adjusts to the new you. Remember, just because you are not losing weight dosen't necessarily mean that you are in a "stall". The way I dealt with stalls, and I had several ranging from 10 days to one that lasted for several months, was to tell myself that each day I did not gain weight was a victory. I also checked to make sure I was continuing on plan and then just kept with it.

I agree with Henry. Stalls are very frustrating, but NOT gaining is also a victory! Just keep on keepin' on!

Hooray for RON!!! I've was dropping pounds like crazy and I kept saying "Please don't let this be the day I hit the plateau", because I have done this before and knew it was coming. For about a week now I have lost no weight. This time I didn't let it bother me too much, just looked at everyday without gain as a huge vicotry. Congratulations and keep it up.
