| I'm trying to see where to begin. I've been asking doctors for the longest about the following:: feeling like eating after eating already, feeling tired, light-headed, fatigued etc until I eat something, feeling like crap after eating and wanting to eat all day even if I'm not hungry. A lot of times, if I start off with a breakfast like an egg sandwich, then the rest of the day is just a wash. When I start off with veggies or a protein other than pork (I'm Jewish) then I tend to do better. I've been battling with voracious eating for a while and the doctors just didn't and still don't get it. My Weight Watchers leader talked about how a high carb diet used to do her in. When she mentioned her symptoms, I was like WHOA that's me! So I came home and looked up Low Carb eating which was REALLY enlightening. Then I found this forum. ![]() I need all the help I can get. I am SO SICK and TIRED of these blasted so-called doctors not knowing how to help people. They kept saying it my symptoms were because I drink too much pop. The problem with that is that I don't drink pop at all! Any how, I'm glad I'm here. |

Jennifer. The most popular programs on this board are Atkins, Protein Power and South Beach. You might want to head off to the library and look over the different plans to see which seems most "doable" to you. Then purchase the book that goes with your chosen plan. It's really helpful to have a road map. Then visit here for tips and encouragement. Hope you'll make yourself at home here.

Jennifer. The best low carb plan is the one you can stay with. Most people here follow Atkins, but other plans like Maggie mentioned also work. Eventually you may need to tweak a plan to meet your individual needs, but it will be easier if you start from the structure of one of the existing plans. Good luck.

| Welcome Jennifer. I too had those same symptoms you described plus a few others. I am free from those symptoms only when I a follow a low carb lifestyle. Back in 1997 I started out with the Carb Addicts diet which I followed well until my son was born in 1999. Everything kind of got away from me and all those wonderful symptoms plus a bunch of extra pounds came roaring back. IN 2004 I found my way back. I have found that I do best following the Atkins nutritional approach to low carbing. Good luck to you in your journey.
