Day one,

I'm tired of passing over my size 6 and 8's in the drawer and reaching for the 12's and hoping THEY still fit. This is ridiculous. I KNOW how to eat low carb, I KNOW how to exercise, I KNOW how to lose this weight, keep it off and feel better. It's darn time I start doing it.

Breakfast:
1 poached egg
sauteed mushrooms
cucumbers
cheese slices
ranch dressing
huge glass of iced tea
hot tea

today was ok, not great. had to drive and eat out. lunch was vegetable lasagne, ate mostly the veggies and a couple bites of pasta. also ate a broccoli salad.

dinner was 2 pieces of fish.

dermatologist put me on a med for rosacea and it's been bothering my stomach. it's hard to eat anything without it getting to me.

I'm not giving up though. Definitely learned the first two days that I need less calories even with the low carb.

NOW it's getting better. I"m switching from SP to paleo and it's so much easier. I feel better with no grains whatsoever and I'm starting to lose. I had wanted to be in the 140's by the end of the year for my birthday but I know that's not going to happen. I want to at least be in the low 150's. Geez, that looks like a lot but that's where I'm at. I know my heavy weight is due to carbs and I'm tired of hurting all over and I'm tired of being fat and self-concious and my clothes not fitting. It's going to be hard at times because my family loves carbs and when we eat out it's often at carby places, however, there are many times we eat out at proteiny places too so I know it will all even out in the long run.

My goals this week are:

1.to make my word true
2.never take anything personally
3.always do my best

lunch worked out better than I thought it would. I normally high carb restaurant had a brunch with lots of bacon (totally porked out ) and eggs. I haven't eaten that much bacon in years. I know it isn't the best thing for me but it sure was good. I also had some broccoli, carrots, mushrooms.

Tonights dinner is home roasted chicken, mushrooms stir-fried in butter and green beans

yeah, another 2 pounds gone! I LOVE this paleo way of eating!

Last night I got hungry so I made a poached egg. I have no idea how many carbs, calories, etc. that I had yesterday but I know I feel wonderful today and I've lost weight. I am eating lots of vegetables, a small amount of fruit and good, lean protein (except for the bacon yesterday morning).

It doesn't get much better than this.

Today's lunch will be a large salad with tuna and dinner is the roasted chicken and vegetables I had planned for yesterday.

I am having a horrible time with this. Not only sticking with low carb but also reading all the information about how whole grains and a vegetarian diet are ultimately the most healthy for us. I'm 41 in a few days and with a strong cancer, heart disease family not to mention diabetes so I'm going in circles with trying to figure out how I should be eating.

today is awful. I made cookies yesterday for dh and ate several. this morning at 7:30 I got a call that my dad was being taken to the hospital. it's hours away from me and I'm waiting to hear any news at all. it's been two hours and still nothing. I really thought about hitting the cookies but I know that would make things worse. I know the sugar would make me sick and less able to handle stress. Instead I'm poaching an egg and sauteeing mushrooms. That will give me the protein and vegetables I need to handle stress better. Waiting is so very hard......

well, I'm back on track again. Today was 70 protein and 41 carbs. Not a bad day. I'm very tired but that's due, I"m sure, to all the traveling and intense stress of the last two weeks. Tomorrow the schedule returns to it's normal frantic self......
