hmm, seems like 'temporary' is going a bit long here. Anyway, welcome back to me, I've missed the journal. I had to pick a day when things were on the good side to get back into it, I always did have a tendancy to post when I was doing good and avoid posting when I wasn't. Human nature I guess.

Yesterday was a good Atkins day, I had been eating too many peanuts and having too many beers and gained 5 lbs according to my (admittedly inaccurate) scales. So yesterday I followed the rules pretty closely and jogged in the eveninng and avoided the peanuts and alcohol last night. Shockingly enough, today I got up and was back down to where I had been, guess not cheating does work after all

I'll try to have a reasonably virtuous weekend, it's the first one in awhile where we don't really have much planned. My son has a couple of soccer games and then a friend's birthday party on Sunday so I guess I'll be doing dad stuff this weekend.

Oh yeah, I sent an article off to a new newspaper that covers the area I live in last night, I'm hoping they like it and want me to do some more work for them. My mom wrote for a small newspaper near her and seemed to enjoy it and I've always looked for a starting point to getting paid to write, maybe this will be an opportunity.

That's it, journal page #1... talk to me soon!

Saturday... 2PM. Daughter is theoretically napping, son and wife are off to find a birthday present for the neighbor kid. I rare interlude of peace in an otherwise hectic life. What better time to get online and do nothing useful?

Took my son to soccer today, took daughter along too. He played well, they put him in as goalie and he really impressed me, he was with it and stopped a few shots. Daughter found a friend and they pulled up grass and flowers and ran in circles giggling.

Yesterday was half way decent, I had a few beers at the race track but they were miller lights, about my only cheat was a decent beer when I got back here home. I didn't have any peanuts and I stayed on plan with my other eating. Tomorrow I'll jog in the morning and I'll try to be good tonight.

The newspaper wrote back, they're going to use my article. I have to go off now and get the digital picture sent in that goes with it. More later!

Monday and I finally have a minute to breath! It's been a hectic start to what promises to be a hectic week. The weekend was hit or miss, I got my jog in on Sunday and kept my consumption of high carby snacks to a minimum even during football. For some reason after posting my good intentions on Saturday, I ended up eating too many peanuts again. Good news is, they're all gone and we aren't getting any more

Monday Night Football tonight, some wings at Hooters with 'the guys.' I may just drink water but I hate to promise myself something and then end up having a beer or two and feeling guilty about it. What's that saying about good intentions?

I did a bit more writing last night and submitted one of my stories to an agent, I'll be curious to see if they email me a 'no thank you' notice today. It's the first time I've sat down to write in weeks so I was happy that I went through the exercise at least. If I can submit things to two or three agents a week, maybe eventually someone will like what they see.

Beautiful day here, hard to believe that a huge hurrican is lurking out there but the fact that my inlaws may be visiting from VA in two days reiterates the point. More soon!

Well, I made it through Monday Night Football with nary a beer, in fact I've gone two nights now without anything alcohol-containing and no peanuts. I did have some sugar free candies last night, so I'm not the poster child for Atkins but the things I wanted to cut out, I've been doing better on.

I did a bit more writing last night, so that was good too. It was a crappy day all the way around so by the time I got home, I could have just vegetated. Instead, I convinced my wife that we should wash the cars (they were so gross) and then did some writing. I intended to go jogging but by the time we got done with the cars it was dark.

Daughter is sick again with an ear infection and my son has been doing crappy at school. Guess it's just how things are going to be for awhile so I might as well relax. After tomorrow things at work should settle down a bit more, it's just a matter of making it through today and tomorrow.

Guess that's it for now, all the whining that fits.

    Dano
Toss the fat clothes if they are more than 2 sizes over what you are now. I personally save my fat clothes for painting. I have enough to paint vermont.

Hey there Dano! Good to see that you are still jogging. I really need to get back to the exercise, but since school has started I haven't got back into yet.

Definitely toss the clothes. Otherwise they are an excuse. You don't want to go back to that size so get rid of them that way you don't have that as an option. I got rid of all of mine, except for the few I use to work in.

    Hey dano!!
You're scarce around here lately, hope all is okay. If you're checking out the boards, invisibly - check out the salt cure thread in everything else.

I hope you've been absent because you have met all your goals and have become so psychologically independent that you no longer need to look outward for support.

Wow, it's been awhile! Like 2 months I guess. In answer to your many inquiries, we did indeed toss the fat clothes, had a yard sale and ditched the rest at Goodwill. Nothing but skinny people clothes in the closet now, can't go back to being fat!

I'm not sure why I stopped journaling, I didn't go off plan or anything like that, I just lost my way I guess. I've still been jogging, did another 5K race in December and had shaved 7 minutes off my time from May. I jogged at lunch time today too making three times this week after a couple weeks of being a slug.

My son has an overnight field trip tonight so we'll be heading out after work. It's at Mammoth Cave here in Kentucky which is a neat place and is conveniently located underground because it's supposed to be yucky weather this weekend.

I'm at my original goal which is kind of neat. I decided at New Years time to try for another 20 lbs which would put my under 200 for the first time since I was about 12. I've lost what I gained over the holidays and am trying to head south of 220 for the first time this week (hence all the jogging

Don't know who's around still that I know, but it's good to be back, I'll check the other forums now.

Good to be back! Haven't journaled in awhile. I was reading through some of my earlier posts and it helped me remember where I was earlier on in my journey. I did jog today, even though it's 24 degrees outside. Took quite awhile to get warmed up but I made my three laps. I'll be heading to Brazil this weekend so I need to get in my jogging early this week. I don't intend to hold back too much food and drink wise there, it's no fun visiting somewhere and feeling like you can't sample the native dishes.

Not much new to report, trying to get the novel finished up so I can start shopping it out some. Have made progress but it's stop and start, as it has been from the beginning. It's my new years resolution though, so this year I'm going to do it! If I can lose 65 lbs, I can finish my 3/4 written book

    Hasta la pasta
