Hi, Sus!

How cool that we have so much in common! I love having a twin! I have to tell you my fun story, I went to Starbucks last week and ordered a breve latte w/SF vanilla. The barista said, "Which LC plan are you on?". I told her Atkins and she said she'd been doing Atkins/Body for Life for like 5 years. She was thin and fit looking. I told her that my goal was to look as good as she does. She said it's easy with Atkins, and a good breve. LOL!! I just love it when people notice that I'm doing LC. It's like a little family or something!

Hey, if you want to be LC buddies, I would! We can comisserate about LC, being tall (I'm 6'), and breve lattes! And we can lament about lack of sleep and wild DD's.

Great to meet you, Sus!!!

Cheers!

Jen, you're on! I welcome the opportunity to get to know you better. My e-mail is susschultz@hotmail.com, in case you need it. I'm on here almost constantly, or so it seems. I can't tell you how much easier my journey has been since finding this site!

Speaking of lattes, I had the worst one of my life today and I am disappointed that I wasted my treat on that crap. It was watery and I'm afraid they used milk although I requested breve. I have a slight headache, darn them! And this was at a Starbucks!

Otherwise, things are going well and I feel great. I'm glad to have you as my LC buddy and my twin. I know what you mean about fellow LCers, I don't run into many, though, so I feel like the posterchild for Atkins in my area. I do run into former LCers frequently and, while they claim they had great results while on, they've since quit. One of the reasons this site is so important to me, I'm sure. I like to hang with those in the game, not on the sidelines. Go Team!

Have a great evening, I hope we get some sleep...

OMG, I didn't realize how much limiting my cheese intake would affect my calories for the day!!! I went from 2046 cal yesterday (pretty normal diet w/4.5 oz cheese) to 1730 cal today (normal diet, 1.5 oz cheese). THAT'S probably what is causing a stall!!

I'm not going to weigh tomorrow, because I'm only 2 days into induction and I don't want to get discouraged. The darn scale does that so easily! I'll wait until next week and hopefully be pleasantly surprised!

I also managed to get 3qt of water in today. I didn't get the whole gallon, but I'm working back up to it!!

Febe, thanks for the idea for going back to induction. I think I was having some issues before I did this. I was starting to have cravings! I don't know if it's really cravings or just 'habit munchies'. I used to routinely snack and fell back into it. Anyway, thanks again for the inspiration!

Sus, hope you get some well-deserved ZZZZZ's tonight! I have my fingers crossed that the Sleep Interference Crew is taking a night off over here, too!

Night, all!

Cheers!

This proves it to me....I have to eat clean. **thumping self on head** I feel so awesome today! It's day 3 of my re-induction and I'm wide awake, not craving and not sluggish. I can't fall into the trap of snacking on too much stuff...even legal stuff! I have to eat clean and put all of my energy into nutritious meals and not into making/eating snacks and treats. Unfortunately, the pumpkin granola and no bake cookies have to go out the door!! I can't handle them, without binging. After this induction...nuts, jerky and cheese are going to be kept to a minimum. I found a new treat, anyway. I can make myself a low-carb iced chai latte. It's a sweet treat, not too many carbs and it's soooo yummy!!!

More later on how the rest of the day goes!

Cheers!

Day 3 of induction down! Feeling groovy!! I really wonder, sometimes, why I insist on doing things that I know will not work for me. Why do I sabotage my weight loss?? It's ridiculous! I know how to eat, how much to eat and what not to eat. I've been down to 155 about 3 times in the past. Every time, I stop doing what was working and ruin everything. This time it's not going to happen. I've decided that I'm going to follow the sage advice that I've seen Maggie give on several occasions. I'm going to reach my goal and if my weight starts to creep up over 5#, I'm heading back to induction or re-evaluating what I've eaten to get me there. Seems like solid advice. I can do this, dammit!!! It feels so good to be on the downhill slide. 170's, here I come!!!

Cheers!

Thank you so much for the sweet words, Febe and Sus! It really means a lot to me to have your encouragement.

I have day 4 under my belt. I want to weigh soooo badly tomorrow! I'm going to try to restrain myself, though. I really want the big WOW to happen on Monday. Teehee!!! I'm loving being on induction again, odd, eh? Well, that'd be me, anyway! LOL!!

Cheers!

Jen,

How do I make a legal chai? That used to be my drink of choice pre-LC.

I'm happy to report I've lost another 3.75 inches this week. I can't believe how good I feel and how much easier this is than any and all low fat diets I've been on. That's why it's my WOL, I can't imagine hating myself enough to go back. I wore this dress the other day that I wasn't able to wear even six weeks ago. I got a lot of attention in that dress, but more for the way I felt than for how I looked, I'm sure. I'm throwing off a serious vibe these days- I hope I don't get too full of myself! And I swear, Jen, I'm getting hit on a lot! I don't know what to do with all this attention. I ate almost half a bag of pork rinds before I realized what I was trying to eat my way out of. I'm grateful that I'm at least trying to seek answers for some of my problems without sabotaging my health and WOE.

How's induction? How's life?

Sus, CYE, I sent you the Chai recipe!

Doing good on day 4 of induction. Still feeling great, drinking all my water and eating my veggies. Just totally pressed for time lately. I'll check in a little more in depth tomorrow, I promise!!

Cheers!

I feel the old motivation coming back!! I spent some time talking to a friend and she gave me an exercise pep talk. I'll let you in on a little secret....before I started Atkins, I worked out 5 days/week. I did this for over a year and lost 2#. I ran/walked on the treadmill 3X/week and worked out with weights twice a week. I was motivated to exercise, but wasn't losing weight. Since starting Atkins, my exercise has been sporadic at best. A little here a little there, but nothing like what I was doing. Well, after the talk I had with my friend....I'm baaaaaack!! I went down tonight and did a 14 min mile. I feel the old motivation coming back, with a new found purpose....to lose weight. I've proven that I can lose weight without exercise....now I need to show myself that I can improve my body, with exercise. It felt so good to run without my legs fatigue-ing and the fat on my body shaking. I am GOING to make it to my goal. Now I know I will.

(BTW, this is day 7 of re-induction for me....still doing great!!!)

Cheers!

I AM determined, dammit! I really want to get the scale moving. I'm so tired of seeing people who started months and months after me, losing weight quickly just because they are motivated and exercise!!

Funny aside, I put on my work out clothes. I'm ready to hit the treadmill, but before I put my shoes on, I stirred up a batch of Chai ice cream and put it in the ice cream maker. I know it's bad, but I can control myself and will only have a taste of it tonight.

Well, I ended up having a bit of the Chai ice cream, it was yummy as expected, but not binge-worthy...thank goodness. I also did my mile on the treadmill. Boy, is walking on the treadmill boring!!! I ended up paging thru house plan books while I was walking. Didn't end up running any tonight, sore shins. But, I did work up a good sweat...just what you wanted to hear, eh?

Cheers!
