I'm going to give this accounability thing a try. Right now I'm accountable only to myself, and I am completely forgiving of me...which is probably why I haven't exercised in 3 weeks. I guess if I'm putting it out there for one and all to see, I'm hoping that the embarassment of NOT exercising or sticking on plan will motivate me to stay on the straight and narrow.

My plan is to post my Fitday food journal percentages and exercise every evening. And so we begin....

Cheers!

Well, here you go:

Total: 1635
Fat: 113 1014 64%
Sat: 54 489 31%
Poly: 7 62 4%
Mono: 41 371 23%
Carbs: 27 84 5%
Fiber: 6 0 0%
Protein: 104 418 26%
Alcohol: 12 81 5%

There's today for ya! Hmmmm...I know I'm not on induction, the carbs are a little low. I like to stay about 35ish. I'm going to run with this, though, since I did indulge in a Mich Ultra with dinner. Hey, what's a ribeye if you don't have a beer to go with it???? C'mon! See, I told you that I forgive myself too easily. Yeeeesss, I did exercise, too! Went on a 45 minute, hilly bike ride with my 32lb son in tow. Felt go-od! I may try for some crunches before bed...I'll let you know tomorrow if that comes to fruition.

Man, I'm so glad that I posted this now. I haven't had a snack yet tonight, and this'll keep me from diving into the turkey jerky or string cheese. Not that those are bad, but I'm trying to get off the after-the-kids-go-to-bed snacking routine that I've gotten myself into.

I know it's goofy, but I still giggle when I look at my fat intake percentage. It just floors me to think that I eat that much fat and still lose weight. For decades, I ate low fat...probably didn't consume that much fat in a month and had a Dickens of a time losing anything. Just goes to show what 'right' eating can do for you!

Veering completely off topic here: Have I told you how much I love VH1 Classic??? You know you're old when they're calling your music classic. I don't feel my age when I watch that music, I feel like I'm back in high school, plugged into the good ol' MTV. I go totally nutso for Tuesday Twoplay. Man, this week I saw 2 videos by The Cure, two by The Clash and two by Blondie. Felt like a youth again. I almost pee my pants when they play a run of The Clash, The Ramones and The Sex Pistols! I know, TMI....DEAL, ok? You're the one who chose to read my stream-of-consciousness ramblings!! My ultimate goal is to fit into my size 11 red plaid bondage trousers. I'd look like a total freak clubbing it in them, considering my advanced age, but trust me, I'll be bouncing around the house to Rancid in them. Be thankful that you won't see that!

OK, you've peeked into my world. Feel free to run away, screaming and hitting yourself in the head. OTOH, if any of this appealed to you, stay tuned. I can get pretty 'freaky in the cheeky', as my 3yo says.

OK, I had to edit this to say, XTC is on now...let me reiterate...I LOVE VH1 Classic!!!

Hi, Febe!! Thanks for visiting! I'm so glad that you started the Christmas Challenge. I totally have new-found motivation. Even my DH noticed my new commitment...along with the fact that I actually wanted to exercise. We can do this!!!

Alright, I didn't do the crunches last night. Get me on the computer, and life as we know it comes to a screeching halt. Maybe I'll do the crunches tonight before computer time. Yeah, good idea!

I just noticed that I need to readjust my sig weight....depressing. Maybe I'll just leave it at 182.5 and consider that a mini-goal for now. After all, it was a low that I hit, but didn't maintain for more than just 1 day.

Cheers!

Jen - I admire your drive to exercise. I really need to learn by your example. Keep it up!!!!

Have you watched "I Love the 70s" on VH-1? My DH and I love that show and the kids think we are nuts because we can't stop laughing!!!

Glo-

The I Love the 70's and 80's series have been sooo entertaining. I actually hooted out loud during the 70's one. Almost woke the kids! I'm looking forward to the 80's Strikes Back one that's coming in Oct!! I've forsaken network tv for the music networks. LOL!

I'm doing good today on my water intake. I'm down 1/2 gallon with 1/2 to go. I'm sooooo cold, tho! Maybe I should cut out the ice or turn off the AC.

Cheers!

Febe, it's only 88 here, but the back of our house faces West and it will easily reach 100 in here if we're not AC'd. Although I didn't need it at 74 while drinking ice water. LOL!

Well, I did it! I went to Super Target today and avoided going into Starbucks and ordering my grande iced Americano with SF vanilla and cream. Not that it's a bad drink, but it probably shouldn't comprise 30% of your carbs for the day....well, several of them do!! I think joining the Christmas challenge, and journaling have kicked me in the butt as far as being accountable. See, I told you, I don't want to embarass myself! I can be good when everyone is watching, it's when I'm left up to my own devices, that I go astray!

Cheers!

Stats for today:

Total: 1903
Fat: 144 1294 69%
Sat: 37 337 18%
Poly: 29 262 14%
Mono: 44 398 21%
Carbs: 47 96 5%
Fiber: 23 0 0%
Protein: 120 479 26%
Alcohol: 0 0 0%

Well, my percentages are almost the same as yesterday. Went a little nutso with the mayo today, though. That would account for the jump in calories. That's whatcha get for having tuna salad and coleslaw all in one day. Ah well, what can you do? I did get my gallon of water in today. The elusive crunches were attacked this evening while watching Baba Wawa interview Macaulay Culkin. Sehr interessant. Never saw any of the Home Alone movies, but enjoyed his work on "The Good Son". He plays a good demon-child. I'll have to catch his new movie, looks like demon-child has grown up.

So, what does Jen do on a Friday night at 9:40? Well, set up the laptop in front of the tv, click on VH1 Classic and surf and bounce, of course! The kids are in bed and it's all about MEEEE now. I've put up with Bob the Builder and Mary Poppins all day. Now it's time to buckle down for some serious music watching. I would never expose my sweet, smart children to music videos, this s*** will rot your brains, I otta know!!!

Here's a slice of entertainment in a rural community for ya: Tonight we put the kiddos in their jammas, went to Culver's and picked up vanilla frozen custard for them and went chasing irrigation rigs. My 3yo DD thinks it's hysterical when we go out to the potato fields and drive under the giant irrigation sprinklers and let them sprinkle our car over and over again. So, we indulge her. It's a cheap carwash for me, too. My friends laugh at me, needless to say, having kids has changed me. Wasn't too long ago that Friday night was all about getting out and hitting the clubs...seeing and being seen...overindulging in spirits and pouring yourself into bed at 3am. Nowadays it's about chasing irrigation rigs, picking up the toys on the steps, so you don't kill yourself on the way down them and chasing away scary monsters at 3am.

OK, back on task here...after all, you're reading this to see if you can catch me cheating or if I have any Atkins tips, right? Who gives two bits about what I do with my time! Well, unfortunately for you, I haven't cheated today, nor do I have any handy-dandy Atkins tips. Although in the Atkins vein, I was talking to the DH tonight and we were musing about how great this WOL is. Like he said, you feel like walking up to people eating Krispy Kreme and swatting them on the head with a copy of DANDR. Now that we've been living this way for 4 mos or so, it just seems soooo wrong to eat that way! It's like, I see people gorging themselves on carbs and I half expect the police to show up and give them a citation for breaking 'the law'. Of course, the only police that would do so are the LC cops. You've seen them...they wear really cool clothes, are an appropriate weight for their height and sport a badge with their before and after pics on it. Below the pics it states...."This is what LC did for me, ask me how!!" They don't carry guns, but have a copy of DANDR under their arm and a baggie of LC snacks in their pocket.

OK, enough creative writing for you!! I gotta pee!!!! Hope you're having a great kick-off to the weekend!

Cheers!

What a fun Saturday! I got up early and went shopping with my son who is 19 mos old. He's such a joy to be with. He constantly makes me smile. Anyway, we went to TJ Maxx and I found French Vanilla and German Chocolate Cake SF Davinci Syrups! The GCC will be perfect for my Almond Joy ice cream. Beats the pants off coconut extract for sure! Then we came home and picked up DH and DD, then went to McD's for lunch. Had the Grilled Chicken Bacon Ranch salad....ate about 3/4 of it. It was good, but it's just too hot out. Then we went to the apple orchard and picked apples. We picked a peck of Paula Red apples. VERY small apples, deep wine red skins, beautiful, crisp white flesh and sweet flavor. We also picked a pint of raspberries. The kids were so sweet, picking raspberries. I'm kicking myself for not bringing the camera! Would have been so many great shots. We were all happy to get home and out of the heat and humidity, though. The kids faces were just beet red.

Cheers!

UGH, I didn't think I ate that much today! I really didn't eat a lot, but the McD's salad and coleslaw and 1/2 an apple jacked up the carbs. It was all soooooo gooooood! I just had to post my stats ASAP, though. It'll keep me from eating any more tonight. Now my only option is water and more water. That works for me.

Cheers!

UFF, I was a slacker today. I didn't exercise, per se. I wanted to get downstairs and walk on the treadmill. Instead, I chased the kids around...indoors. But I did do 100 crunches. I'm hoping for a good weigh-in tomorrow. Considering that I ate dinner at 9pm tonight, I'm a little worried. I guess we'll see what tomorrow holds! Night y'all!!

Cheers!

Sheesh! OK, question here....should they really put Ranch dressing in a squeeze bottle?? I made a huge grilled chicken salad, it was yummy. I went off the hook with Ranch though. Just started squeezing it on my salad. Made the 3yo laugh, so I did it again. I logged it on Fitday as 6T. I don't know if it was that much, but it seemed like it was a LOT. And yes, I used pretty much all of it. Soooo, that's where the bulk of the calories came from today. I don't know what gets into me! I hear that laugh (from my DD) and I have to see if I can get her to laugh again. Next time I have to figure out a different way to get her to laugh.

But, I did get my gallon in today and I did some housework done. I still have to get on that darn treadmill. I guess it'd help if I could get the kids to bed before 9:30. I'd get up early to exercise, but we're still not sleeping thru the night....not me...the kids. Excuses, excuses. I know. Herein lies my problem. Ah, well, I'll fry that fish tomorrow. I think I'm heading for bed. NIGHTY-NIGHT!

Cheers!
