Since I don't do so well writing things down in a regular journal, I'm going to try it this way! I'm starting my journal today, 2/17/04, and not looking back! I started out well today, eggs, cheese and bacon for breakfast, decaf coffee with splenda. I've just started my 1st 1 liter bottle of H2O.

I started the St. Patty's challenge today at 190 lbs. and a size 16 misses. This is such an accomplishment for me considering I started Adkins in August at 213 lbs. and in a size 20 Womens. I lost my first 20 lbs. between August and October. In October, I fell off the wagon until January 2004 - that's when I climbed back up! I was lucky to gain only 2 lbs. during Thanksgiving and Christmas but, since I have been back on the program I have only lost 5 lbs. The way I feel is that, this weight came on slowly and it will be better if it comes off slowly! I am at a weight that I spent a long, long time at so I figure that is another reason why it's coming off more slowly.

Lunch time rolled around and I ate 1 hamburger patty and a salad (drank water). Working on my 2nd liter of water now. Had a few peanuts for a snack today. Supper is going to be the kicker!

mmmm bacon for breakfast, burgers for lunch! Sounds like my kind of meal, Rhonda.

Don't give up and stay on the wagon this time! The "new you" will thank yourself in a few months time!

I skipped breakfast today, which is not good. But I ate an early lunch so I wouldn't "be bad". I had a cup of chicken salad and some fruit. I've got to play catchup on the water today - only 1 bottle so far!

Last night I fixed hotdogs for the kids so I ate one without the bun and with chili (1 carb). Weighed this morning and I was down 1 lb.! I finally broke that 190 lbs. that I have been at for 3 weeks! This morning I had bacon for breakfast with decaf coffee. I have GOT to start walking!

Started walking yesterday! I walked 2 miles - could have gone further but my son called needing me - I'll try for more tonight! Sadly, I didn't do well on eating yesterday. Ate mexican for lunch (chips, salsa, the whole enchilada!) and ate hamburger helper for supper (had hashbrowns in it). No weight gain - it's a good thing I walked!

Did pretty good over the weekend. Walked on Friday 2 1/2 miles. Weighed in Saturday at 187. TOM visited Sunday so the cravings have begun! I'll be strong though!

One more pound gone! Still on TOM but doing good! Need to walk some more this week. Was home with a sinus headache yesterday and I barely got out of the bed. Feel much better today!

Down one more pound to 185! This is an all time low since 1994!!! Didn't get to walk due to snow and traveling but I'm going to get going again tonight!

Walked 2 1/2 miles last night and did very well on eating yesterday. I need to work on water intake and continue walking and eating right.

Yesterday was a bad, bad day for eating! Ate mexican for lunch and homemade pizza for supper. I have got to have more self control!! Also, I didn't get to walk yesterday because of rain. I was so disappointed! Tonight is church night so walking doesn't look like it's going to be in the plan for today either.

However, I have done much better today with my eating. I had bacon and coffee this morning and a hamburger patty and salad for lunch.

I have decided to set some "mini" goals for myself. Here are my goals:

St. Patty's day - loose 10 lbs. - 180
Easter - loose 5 more lbs. - 175
Memorial Day - loose 10 more lbs. - 165
Family Reunion in Fl. - loose 5 more lbs. - 160

Considering the time frames I think this is realistic. I will adjust my goals as I go along if I need to!

Rhonda where is Winder GA? I am in Warner Robins and really wanting to have a low carb get together at a restaurant. We are at about the same weight. I am actually at 186 now and trying to get to the same goals as you. The only difference is I don't have Memorial Day goal yet. I am trying to be 160 by 21 Jun with a final of 155 whenever. Mayber we could cheer each other on. I was looking at your meals and don't remember seeing many veggies. Remember to get most of your carbs from veggies.

Did pretty good on eating last night - had beef and broccoli (lots of broccoli). Going on a womens retreat with the ladies from church this weekend so, hopefully, there will be lots low carb foods to eat.
