I used to love to ride a bike. The last time I did, however, the seat was so small and it hurt my behind. I'd love to find a seat that is comfy and wide. I guess I'd have to find a bike, first. I don't own one.

Sounds like you're doing great, Mary Kay.

I'm trying - messed up a little over the weekend, but as usual, not much happening in the weight dept. But clothes are continually getting looser. I'm not staying on the second week of phase I of Curves (seems pretty silly with that I've been lowcarbing since January). and the mgr agrees - I'm moving to phase II - which introduces some higher carb fruits and food. Phase II has you moving to 40-60 carbs daily - way more than I am used to!! and I probably need to now. between Curves and bike, I am more active (actually thinking about trying golf again) - and probably been staying too low for my body to handle. I spike once in a while (small cheats), but I still have a problem really bringing in the foods I should.
I'm not a yogurt fan, but found I really like the cottage cheese/1 spenda, and a couple spoonfuls of frozen berries. Yum. Now I could have it on the same day I have my favorite breakfast (maggies cereal) -
And I keep forgetting some of my old favorites (from jan/feb) - like the broc salad and stuff. I really need to note this stuff in my book so I remember what I like. there is a page for 'my favorites' in the curves challenge book -

Daughter is taking a couple old bikes out of our garage down to KY, or I'd get one to you. I love this new bike. Don't have to think too much with gears, hand brakes. just a good old bike, with wide handlebars so I can sit up straight. And a little metal bell ringer on the handlebars

hope you are doing well April. I miss talking to you

MK, wanted to tell you had i had a great weekend down in your neck of the world! such gorgeous weather!
churchill downs was fun - a little dumpy, if you don't mind me saying. :o compared to keeneland and arlington ... but churchill had a lot of history and character.
the reds game was a blast, loved the new stadium! went jogging throughout downtown cinci on sat morning - lovely.
also went to a minor leauge game in louisville on sunday. good times.

sounds like your new plan is working well for you! keep up the great work.

cal = 1408 carb = 17 prot= 99

b - 2 egg/ 3 bacon
s - curves shake
l - turkey and lettuce/ranch
s - cottage cheese/berries
d - small steak, salad, 1 oz cheese
s - strawberries/cream

well, only lost 1 lb this week, but didn't expect to lose like
on induction - I've just kept the carbs and cals too low the whole
time I have been doing this. Moving into Phase II (Curves) - need
to up carbs to 40-60 - can't remember being that high since January.

so, going to do it - unless I gain about 4 lbs I will do this. Maybe
it will start me again. and my activity has picked up with the bike.

my BF did go down though. i didn't write it down, but she said it went down.

so, going to work on a plan I can live with for next week. OMG - adding carbs,
how will I ever manage?!?!?!

Thanks April and Carrie for stopping by.
I think this is definitely helping me in my 'slump'. Holds me accountable. and I am anxious to see what happens when I get the higher carbs added in. Hopefully, it will help my metabolism.

well, next 2 days should be a little harder. Got a breakfast meeting this morning - but they usually have lots of bacon/ eggs / etc. Just have to stay away from the waffles/pancakes. Its like a big catered breakfast.
then at a client for 2 days. Always hard on me - can't get in the 'snacks' between meals like I should. Will be going out for lunch, but I already told the person I am visiting that I need to stick to this. She usually hauls me to a mexican place - rice is a staple. I'd rather just go to wendys or something.

so probably won't be on line except in the evening. Have to drive down to KY for both days. Got a little notebook so I can write down what I eat to journal when I get back. and will miss Curves tomorrow. darnit. I hate to. If I don't end up there again on Friday, I'll have to do T-F-Sat this week.

cal = 1040 carb = 47 prot = 76

b - 2 eggs scrambled w/cheese, 2 large strawberries, 5 grapes
s -
l - spinach/mushroom salad, cottage cheese with berry yogurt
s -
d - curves shake, apple crisp bar, creamed chipped beef
s - (so stuffed from dinner - forget it.

today was harder than usual. Had a professional breakfast meeting - usually eggs, meats, waffles, & pastries.
today they had eggs and fruit and waffles/pastries. No meats. so, stuck with eggs and fruit.
then at a client all day. break for lunch ended up at the salad bar. stocked up on some cottage cheese for some
protein.
had my shake and bar - was starving when I got home. Supposed to be at 40-60 carbs starting today - managed it (47),
but the adkins bar contributed to that, and I shouldn't have had it.

client was nice enough to give me an internet connection today - and I am playing at our lunch break.
just looking forward to the drive home (1-1/2 hour) - we finally got home last night at 2am. up at 5:15 to get here by 8... Just a lil tired today.

cal = 676 carb = 33 prot = 62

b - maggies cereal/ sf syrup
l - dixies plain chili
d - grilled chicken caesar salad - BK (ate the croutons)
s - small packet of cheese/breadstick

what a DAY!!! worked at client all day, back home to frantic message from my mother (88yo)
thought she had a blood clot in her foot. My mother is a rock, if she was panicky -
I better be there. so I did - we spent 5 hrs in the ER with her - and an hour drive each way.

obviously, was not a good eating day. Didn't go overboard, but sure didn't eat.
Mother is fine, turned out to be gout and an infection combined, but her foot did look like
a stuffed sausage!!

back to client again today....

can I say I planned today as a spike day? - no, just a moment of weakness and peer pressure at the client.

cal = 1281 carb = 107 prot = 68

b - m.cereal/sf syrup Curves shake
s - BIG bran muffin (yeah, this was the killer - client brought in specifically for me)
l - tuna salad/lettuce (had this instead of the pizza they ordered)
s - curves shake/ apple crisp bar
d - dozen shrimp/ curry dip

I think this is my WORST day since starting in January - but this is what
happens on 3 hrs of sleep, barely anything to eat the day before,
and the first day of TOM.

Claiming temporary insanity and moving on.
Tomorrow WILL BE BETTER!!!!! and next week I will be back in my little office.

Mom is fine. I talked to her yesterday and it is feeling much better. And she is her usual perky self.
I'm heading over there this afternoon. mixed day - we always like to watch the Triple Crown races together, but it is also the anniversary of my dad's passing (9 years ) and I know she has problems on that day. Trying to convince DH that he doesn't need to go today. He is trying to be supportive, but I think this needs to be a mom-daughter day.

How are things going for you?

cal = 1259 carb = 46 prot = 113

b - m. cereal/sf syrup
s - curves shake, 3 triscit/1 slice cheese
l - cottage cheese w/berries
s - adkins shake
d - 2 country ribs/LC bbq - cucumber/ranch salad
s - 2 slices turkey breast

much better day. I need to get the calories up some, but it was a full food day.
definitely hit my water, quit counting at 4-25 oz bottles.
Did my off-day Curves #1.

feeling pretty good. went out and bought some new work/workout clothes.
nice working from home now - I can get away with wearing the same thing.
this weekend I got a couple pair of the drawstring, stretch capris - LOVE THEM.
got a variety tonight - hot pink, neon green, bright blue - FUN COLORS.

had to get them, fitting in L-large now, not XL, or even XXL. so needed some
new clothes - and since they are drawstring - it should last me through the summer.
Need to find some cheap t-shirts. for now, I'll just wear the old ones.

I was weighed today at Curves - down 3 lbs this week (per their scale). and TOM is still here.
maybe it took raising the carbs. I am really trying to stay in the 40-60 carb/day range like the Curves plan says. I don't think I spent much time at the 'higher' range before, since I started Atkins in January. It is very hard for me to bring in higher carbs. I just feel so good at the lower level. Not that I'm feeling bad, it was just fear.
But I'm trying!

did #2 workout for this week.
Bought some new workout clothes last night - old stuff not fitting anymore. YEAH!!!
