    Hi Ann and welcome

    I wanted to let you know that I also like the fruit and had a hard time giving it up...so I didn't . I love bannanas wayyyyy to much! Bannanas and peanut butter and apples and peanut butter!! YUM! (I found a great low carb peanut butter made with splenda that I really enjoy) I do wonder sometimes how fast I would be losing if I cut out the fruits and my weekly (or sometimes twice weekly!) bowl of oatmeal with strawberries. I am losing weight on a steady, regular basis and I incorporated daily excercise into my routine, and I think the excercise gives me a little more leeway in my food chocies. Like you said, you have to incorporate a way of eating that you can stick to and not feel deprived, thats how I feel too. So with the oatmeal, I found a brand that is lower on the glycemic index and I kept it in my diet. You do what you feel is right and healthy for you!!

    HeyKim, you are so pretty! I'm looking forward to pictures again. Right now I hate having mine taken and I"m too embarrassed to look at them.

    I did good today. I made ham tostados tonight. I had about 3 pecans for a snack.

    I ordered some news clothes today and bought the pants in one size smaller so I MUST lose this weight

    ANN.. thanks for the complement... very very sweet of you to say... but hey.. take a look at my BEFORE picture.. it aint pretty..
    i started this journey in january (the 12th to be exact..) of this year... i know i have lost 50 lbs.. maybe more.. i havent been weighed since june (i only weigh at doctors appts.. i have no scale)
    i STILL hate having my picture taken.. the pictures i post here (new ones anywho) are ones i take MYSELF on my cell phone... i am the HIDE BEHIND THE PILLOW queen.. (or whatever object or person i can grab to throw in front of me...) i am getting better at looking at pictures of me.. but i throw out HORRIBLE ones.. and i delete off the computer ones my husband seems to love to send out to all the relatives..(always nasty shots of me.*ick*...)
    so i take ones i can stand looking at.. then i email em to honeymoons computer so he will mail THOSE to friends and family instead of the crappy ones he has taken..
    its all about the lighting and angle....*L*
    keep hangin in girl.. you'll do just fine..
    i LOVE bananas.. but i dont eat them anymore..if honeymoon or grandkiddo has one .. if i want one.. i take a BITE of theirs and thats all i need... maybe once in a MONTH...
    but during induction of atkins i didnt have fruit.. then i had strawberries... raspberries...
    now i dont have very much if ANY during the month.. unless i go to a buffet and get cantalope..and berries..

    Today has been really good.

    yesterday was Thanksgiving with the in-laws at my home so today is leftover turkey and some cheese along with broccoli, cauliflower, pepper strips

    I bought a size 10 pant, I usually wear a 10 or 12, and I couldn't get them past my thighs! I am hoping it's the pants being small and me not getting bigger

    Lots of weightlifting lately, that feels great.

    brrrrrrrr..It is SO cold here tonight! We are forecast to get 8 inches of snow over the next 24 hours.

    Thanksgiving went pretty well. I think I need more protein though. My teeth are getting kind of translucent and I think I'm eating too much fruit.

    Will start keeping a better journal tomorrow morning.

    so far today:

    2 eggs scrambled in butter with cheese
    1 toast
    lc cocoa.

    I'm at 170.5 pounds this morning.

    After typing this, I will do a full body weight workout.

    I just want a salad for lunch, breakfast was high protein enough that I am not hungry.

    I'm aiming for 60 grams of carbs per day. That keeps me steady and energetic. Right now I need that.

    I'm really wanting to get a yoga workout in as well. That calms me. My life is so busy, I need a good diet and exercise program. I tried eating raw and I felt pretty good but my teeth were showing that it was a bad diet. Also I seemed to gain weight! I know I need more protein than I can get with a raw diet.


    UPDATE: 2:00pm
    just finished a huge salad with lettuce, cucumber, red pepper, onion, cheese, carrots, turkey sausage, ranch dressing
