Crystal, tks so much for the kind words, some time I need to hear that even tho I still feel like I have such a long way to go....everyone here inspires me, rob and his walking, the people that come up with food ideas to share, the encouraging words we all give newbies....
I have however, kept to my resolve and am looking forward to seeing the
scale go in a downward motion....
my appetite isn't as it was - of course it is so hot out that one doesn't want to do much eating that isn't quick, cool, etc... so dh and i have been doing a lot of salads with left over meats on top....
i am going to try a new "cookie" i saw on paula deans show over the weekend
all it has is peanut butter, splenda, vanilla and egg....mmmmm I will let you know how it turns out and what the carb count will be....

I do too! I just watched her wedding show on the Food Network over the weekend. I love to listen to her! She cooks whole-hog: I told my m-i-l that she uses alot of butter and sugar in her cooking. Then the show came on and she said "First, you put in a pound of butter and 2 cups of sugar...." I just had to laugh! My m-i-l said "You're right!"

I'm doing okay on food choices, just not getting the exercise I need! Hugs to you, C.

Friday - day 12 in my 100 day cheat free, no sugar....
day 5 on my second week of eating clean....
feeling good. Made those cookies the other night had one that night, and only one per day since... Put some in the freezer, so after today I won't see them or have another one for about a week.
Been getting in some extra work outs....
sunday did a spinning class, monday two water aerobics classes,
tomorrow I believe I will go to the gym for the 9amwater aerobics, then do the 10 am class and 11 am water volley ball
Also going to do watervolley ball tonite.

Eating good, lots of veggies, lots of salads.
Already seeing the scale moving... still trying to get rid of last christmas's gain, so i am on my way to that goal... hopefully by the end of the month.

Because of the heat, appetite, isn't as stong as usual, and eating much lighter (less) then I would normally eat.... which I guess is good.

C-sounds like you're doing pretty good! I joined the Labor Day Challenge and that means not weighing until Labor Day. I don't know if I can do it!

Now that my schedule is 8-4:30, I can start getting up and exercising before work. How's the weather in Austin?

Today is day 23/2 on my 100 day and eating clean aweek challenges... I am on my 4th week eating clean.... no white sugar, no white flour... been really good about passing on food I don't want to eat any longer.
It has been a hard week, dh is having a hard time with some of his meds and had a manic episode last week.... we are working with dr. and health professionals to see what we can do to help him better.... might have some relief this weekend.... might get out of dodge...and see what the beach looks like....
still have a couple of those peanut butter cookies I made over two weeks ago..I put most of them in the freezer and only take one out at a time when I feel I need something sweet and fruit won't do it...yesterday I had a mini peach, 1/2 banana and some pineapple...
today 1/2 peach, som e pineapple and I have strawberries writing for my
afternoon snack....
Thats it for now...

:great:

29/1 (29 days on 100 day challenge and 1 on weekeating clean - 5th week starting)
yahoo... doing great, almost no sugar cravings... went to beach, wanted a real coke, but resisted... people I was with brought ice cream and fudge for sat nite desert,... and brought me some atkins indulge ice cream and i just had one portion... no fudge.... oh what a treat that was....
not sure I like the mouth feel of atkins indulge, but you know, I don't have to have it and I don't have to have the real thing (Actually I am going to have some when I complete this 100 day challenge)...

life is good, dh is has gotten new meds for his bipolar/manic stuff....been on them a week now and seems to be a little less edgy....

he is also going to start an adult intensive outpatient psychiatric program
to help him understand and live with his bipolarness... hopefully it will help him I know I can't ....

weelkend at the beach was just what my batteries needed,,...recharge for me... walked on the beach every morning for my exercise, then played in the waves an hour or two each day... little redness on my body... little too much sun without enough sun screen....
oh well, it will feel better tomorrow.

that is all for now.

Hey, C! Sounds like you're doing good on plan....even when you're tempted. I know a couple of people who are bipolar and it can be managed....but it can be a rough situation when it's not. I hope the combination of the meds and outpatient program will be just the thing for your DH.

I am so envious of your walks on the beach! I grew up on the water (dad in Coast Guard) so I really miss the ocean. I was born in Galveston.

My DH's cousin has a daughter who will soon become a neighbor of yours....she will begin culinary school in Austin the first week in August. I told her if she needs any Avon, I can hook her up! Her Mom is really anxious about her going away to school, but she seems like a responsible kid, so we'll see.

I have been eating right, EXERCISING (!), taking my supplements, drinking my water and getting a little more sleep lately, so hopefully I will see some loss when I weigh on Labor Day.

Hang in there and try to stay cool! We're sweating here!

LOL maxi, I just left you a message on your journal, and come to mine and see that you were here...

We were at port aransas, and it was a wonderful weekend. I have really learned something from being good about not eating sugar.... I don't have to have it to enjoy my food life....

I have really gotten into my fruits again, been a long time...I will count out my fruit - grapes, and cherries... 1/2 the larger fruits- peaches, apples, and bananas, and chunk up melons - water and cantelopes and just have a small amount.... Keeping them at work makes it easier to not eat those things people drop off in the kitchen....cookies, cakes, etc. al.

Wish I liked diet sodas, I miss my cokes, but Ido have the crystal light tea in the fridge, I just don't want to drink the caffeen in the evening when I am winding down ffrom the day.

water, I have been averaving 3 quarts per day.... needing to get in the 4th quart, but it seems hard.... been trying and hopefully by the end of the week will have had a couple of days with 4 quarts in,... yesterday 3+, tuesday 3+..

DH has been going to his groups 3 hours per day tuesday thru today so far... didn't go monday cause he had dr apt for upper respitorary gunk....got some antibiotics, decongest, and cough syrup, and seems to be getting that under control also.... he is taking his new meds, maybe they seem to be working...
I am keeping my fingers crossed....

we have a friend in tonite from tennessee and not sure how long he will be staying probably thru the weekend.... not sure if we have to cook for him but we have tons of left overs tonite... pork loin, meat loaf, home made soup....
coleslaw, veggies.... etc. al...
I am planning on doing some massive cooking this weekend, and trying to clean out the freezer so we can defrost it... not sure it will get done, but I can "plan"....

thats it for now....
onward thru the fog....
