Hey Febe and shelley! thanks for the encouragement.

rainy dreary depressing wednesday. makes me want ice cream or a fudge brownie and i don't normally have a sweet tooth. But ice cream I can deal with any time it;s put in front of me.
wish i had some fruit in the house, a half an apple would satisfy this craving I think.
have eaten 1725 calories today and net carbs were 30. I'm at 40-50 carbs now so i am allowed a carb snack but there isn't anything in the house. I have green tangerines that look just like limes. I thought they were just large round limes but the cashier set me straight.
well enough rambling.

Thanks for the encouragement Donna!
Febe - I know what you mean about fresh baked bread. I would make 2 loaves and they'd both be gone by the next morning.

well I'm doing the house sitting job with the 7 cats and a dog. It began today - so far stress free except Sebastian (their dog) keeps mounting my Sophie and she is getting P.O.'d.
I've had cravings all day and I'll probably end up eating dinner at 5:00. I did indulge in 2 tbs of peanut butter (not the natural) and 2 ounces sunflower seeds for a snack.
It;s nice to have HBO again (at their house).
My cable company said you had to upgrade to digitalcable ($63 a month) in order to keep a premium channel so I told them I'd go back down to the $7.00 a month package-screw you.
The only difference i see between having 200 channels to choose from and having 12 is that it takes less time now to find out nothings on.

Rob!!
How funny with the cable people! Ours keeps hiking the price and we pay over $35.00 just for basic cable...no premium channels...can you say RIP-OFF???...LOL!
Tell Sophie to bite a hunk out of ole Sebastian's ear if he keeps bothering her...hehe
My Fu Kitty is very sick again I posted in my journal<sigh>
I love the avatar you are using now...it's just soooooo you!...hehe
Bye!

The dog sitting was uneventful. Which is good.
I've been eating more than usual the past week.
average calories were 2173 which is 200 calories more than usual. net carbs were good though at 44.5 avg for the week. I only lost a pounf last weigh-in but that's good considering I had lost 3 pounds the weigh-in before. I often experience no loss the week after a loss of 3 pounds or more. Am about on target with my walking. so far in October - 49 miles. I am aiming for 90. Have decided to cut back the number of times I walk a week from 6 to 5. Maybe have a couple of longer walks during the week. Yesterday I did 7 miles. skipped tuesday and did 5.5 monday.

Glad you like my avatar-looks like matt lauer

HEY! all - how's it going?

I lost 2 1/2 pounds this week according to my weigh-in this morning. Lazy me didn't get out of bed until 6:30 this morning. I'm used to being up by 5:00. It felt good to sleep in.
My food counts for the past 7 days (sunday thru saturday) are as follow:
Average calories: 1930
average Fat : 100 g
Average ECC : 41.5 g

I didn't go to football sunday last week so I'll go today. But notice the trend - the week after I went last time i only lost 1 pound. This week i lost 2 1/2 pounds and didn't go last sunday. I will not complain about a 6 1/2 pound loss in 3 weeks though. I'll take that any time. I only lost 5 1/2 for the entire month of September. The only glitch in my weight loss plan is I stepped in a hole my sister's dogs dug out in their yard and turned my ankle slightly. My walking will be on hold for probably 5 days. maybe i can do 1 or 2 miles but it'll probbaly be a couple of weeks until I'm able to do 5 miles or more.

Hi Rob,
Sorry to hear about your ankle...sprains are the pits! When did it happen? If it has been within the last 24-48 hrs it might respond to
RICE...meaning, Rest, Ice, Compression(with an ace wrap) and Elevation. Also some OTC anti-inflamatory like Ibuprofen, Advil, etc might help. Hope it's better soon!
Good going on the weight loss...you're doin'
GGGRRREEEAATTTT!!!!!!!

Shelley and Febe;
Thanks for the aww too bads.
But it's 90% better and i walked 5 amd 1/2 miles yesterday. So it's okay, except today it was lightly tender so i skipped walking.

I noticed the other day that I am on the downward side of my weight loss journey. Meaning I had 130 pounds to lose and have lost 66.5. so i have less left to lose than i have lost.
63.5 pounds seems way more do-able than 130 pounds did. My sister weighs 115 pounds.
Went to a state park this week about 35 miles away and me and the sophie did about an hour and 20 minutes of trail walking. Due to my then still sore ankle and the steepness of the trails I went pretty slowly, maybe 2 1/2 mph.
We saw a big snake on on eof the trails. It ws 3 1/2 feet long and there was no way to get around it. sophie didn't even know it was there and just stepped over it. When I called her back over she did one of her all four feet in the air at once backward retreats. she doesn't like snakes and neither do I. If I knew that it was a non-poisonous variety I'd have stepped over it. But I would rather live cautiously than die a fool. so I turned tail and found a new trail.
I've cheated a bit this week and with the decrease in exercise I wonder what my weight loss (if any) will be. well I vow to do better the rest of the week.

Well i weighed in this morning and was down 1/2 a pound. I feel bloated today. Yesterday i went to a Church crafts fair and a friend had made the clam chowder (new england) so she brought me a bowl without my asking. It was really good and i picked out the potatoes as much as i could, but some potato is used to thicken the soup. So i think that might explain my bloated feeling. I'll lower my carbs for a few days and increase my walking and see if I can do better next week.
