Yes Febe we CAN do it.... just maybe not this month Hugs Back

Shelley - you're right about it being hard this time of year.

As if it isn't hard enough having to sit down to feasts and be good, now i go to the store and there are goodies everywhere. Saw a huge candy display at Target today and actually went over and fondled it. Not touched, fondled. lol. So now I'm thinking about sweets the rest of the day. Normally i don't have much of a sweet tooth but this time of year I sure do. Must be all the Christmas cookies my mother always made. anyway i'm sitting there thinking about what i could have as a choclatey treat and I remambered I had some jello sugar free fudge pudding. Also had some carb countdown milk. so I figured I would make a a package and eat a serving and have the rest over the next couple days. NOT! I knew damned well if I made the package I would eat a package. The good news is that it's only 34 carb grams and less than 400 calories for the whole box, prepared, so it's not much worse carb wise than le carb ice cream if I ate the whole pint. and a few less calories. But I had done so well in cutting back carbs yesterday and through most of today and this just blew the numbers out of the water. Yesterday I had 28 net carbs, today 59. should have been 24.
so ticked off. But total calories were under 1700. so not so bad there. And I did walk for 40 minutes despite the cold. But I'm retaining water like a dam and my knees are so stiff it takes ten minutes to walk up to a decent speed. But I will keep plugging away. And I will get back on track or my name aint sam.

Sam here!
My walking has decreased markedly with the snow and rain and cold we've had for the past 3 days. only walked 25 minutes today because i was about to freeze to death. it was 32 and rainy. even sophie was glad to see the car.
I definitely need to get an indoor routine going for the winter months. Maybe I'll join the december exercise challenge if they'll have me. I need to do something to get through the winter months.

I weighed myself this morning and I was only half pound up from my signature weight. So I lost 1 1/2 pounds of my thanksgiving weight. But I felt less bloated today and I think if i can debloat I might lose below signature by sunday weigh-in.

Weather warmed back up so I have been walking 3 to 4 miles a day for past 3 days.Damned g h on my keyboard do not work so I ave to copy/paste tem if I want to put tem in.
Lost te 2 pound T-day gain plus one more.
71.5 pounds down. will need to hustle if I want to make 25 pound challenge, but no bi deal if I fall short. a Challene is supposed to be difficult, not easy to achieve.

Today is supposed to be 58 degrees, wahoo!
Definitely a marathon walking day.

Can't get motivated to start an indoor exercise program. It's been fair weather the past few days so I've been walking. Today I did 3.6 miles. But this weather won't stick around forever. In fact tomorrow isn't supposed to crawl out of the 30's. Possible sleet or ice storm or some such. Can't wait until spring. In fact I can't wait until january. at least The holidays would be over.

Hiya Rob....
I know what you mean about the motivation for exercise; and then when I am motivated, the place was closed this morning due to our sleet and snow we got last night.....aarrgghh!!!!
...and I really was in the mood to exercise today too, darn it! Did you guys get the ice and snow yet? Take care if you go out in it...I don't know about you, but my butt doesn't bounce off the ice as good as it did when I was young

Shelley, at least when I was 310 pounds my butt was padding, still is to a much lesser degree. I don't want to find outhow effective it still is. I refuse to take sophe for a walk any place else but the yard, the way she pulls at the leash I'd be Robsledding on my face.
The ice storm wasn't too bad here. But I'll stay in until the ice melts. which will probably be tomorrow or tuesday. In the past being stuck indoors due to winter weather meant making semolina or french bread and drinking a bottle of wine or a lot of beer (or my favorite - hot spiced cider with calvados and rum - or bourbon). Since thise options are no longer viable I feel bored. I do have some Christmas tea. MAybe that will help?
Lost nothing this week despite being good as gold, well silver anyway. It's looking more and more like I'm gonna stall in my old familiar 230's. Don't ever tell me that set points are a myth. Cause I won't Myth.

Thanks Febe; Thankfully the ice has mostly melted. and today is supposed to reach 60.

Definitely a day for waking. Did 3 miles yesterday but my monthly total is down a lot from the previous several months. I'll be happy if I reach 50 miles in December.

I ate pork roast by the pound yesterday and today I feel bloated. Does pork bloat you?
Don't know how much I really ate because sophie got some of the meat and all of the fat. Still have a lot left. But I really need to start my Christmas shopping. Well all I'm doing this year is money for the neices/nephews and gifts of food for my immediate family and a few friends. Last year I made 5 pans of lasagna for them. Everyone says my lasagna is the best they've ever eaten. It should be for what it costs me to make it. This year I'm making low carb cheesecakes and cookies and put them on decorative plates that the recipient gets to keep. Last year I bought everyone a lasagna pan to keep.

Yes Febe I will start on monday when a lot of people are back to work. Glad it worked, I was beginning to feel dumb with the temporary still in the title after 3 1/2 months. LOL

Well If I didn't know i was obsessive I would after this morning. Spent 3 or 4 hours making sure all my fitday entries were correct (from my handwritten food journal i kept until the end of june). HAd to reenter or correct 45 days from feb 15 to june 30. AUGGGGHHH!
I did this so I could see if there was a pattern in my weight loss. Here's what I found.
BY going tot he end of each month and hitting reports And then clicking "where are my calories coming from. Then seeing what the past month totals were, I made a list of the calories, fat, carb, fiber, protein I ate for each month from March to November. Here are the results:

CALORIES
MArch.......1725....So as far as calories are
April...... 2077....concerned they have creeped
May.........1952...up a couple hundred over the
Jun.........2005...past few months.
Jul.........2032
Aug.........2001
Sept........2072
October.....2136
November....2273

FAT

March.......99..Fat also creeped up ever so
April.......97..slowly, month by month.
May.........92
Jun........105
Jul........109
Aug........109
Sept.......112
October....114
November...122

Net Carbs

March......31..Consistent for the most part
April......43..except March because I was still
May........42..increasing carbs 5 per week.
Jun........42..and October, I don't know what
July.......41..happened but I lost 6 pounds
August.....45..in october at 34 carbs but lost
Septmeber..43.. 7.5 in september at 43 carbs.
October....34
November...45

PROTEIN

MArch......126...This pinpointed a problem
April......141...My protein has been creeping up
May........139...in october/november, but I was
Jun........132...not aware because the high
Jul........134...total was more because of
Aug........135...protein binges, for instance
Sept.......132...Turkey in November by the
October....154...pound. I alloted myself 135 g
November...165...of protein per day. This was based on Protein Power's formula based on muscle mass. But instead of reducing my protein allowance as i lost weight, in October and November I increased it substantially. I lost one pound in November thanks to T-Day. So far in December I'm down 3.5 pounds but 2 of that was Thanksgiving gain in November.

Conclusion: Refigure my protein requirement based on protein power's guidelines. Stick close to that number. Reduce my carb level by about 5 per day. so 35-45 as my aim.
