My goodness I am appaled at how long it has been since I checked in!

Well I'm still weighing rarely (once a month) and still working the plan. Results are a tad slow but still results. I'm not 30 anymore so I expect it to be different!

Against my dr's wishes weaned myself off of my diabetes medication and am using a natural product. I have had 99% excellent blood sugars doing this. It forces me too keep a stricty reign on my diet. On the medication I could get away with more if that makes sense.

I decided to do this because I was sick of tests constantly for my liver. The tests kept coming back slightly elevated and she wanted to keep watch on it. I asked why is it elevated? It is a side effect of the medication I've been on forever. Ummmm I kind of need my liver!!!

I can't wait to have my next A1C to prove my point!

It is so much better to control your blood sugar with diet, and get off that medication. I'm appalled at how many people just eat what they want, because they are on medication that is supposed to keep it under control. Most of them don't consider the side effects. Good for you!

BTW, have you read Dr. Bernstein's book? I'm not diabetic, but I am absolutely amazed at his story, and found the book to be fascinating, and extremely helpful in my lc plan. I actually have the book, but you can read it online at his website.

Hope you have a wonderful week!

Thank you Nita. Yep I read that book. It was very interesting!!! I can't control my bg generally with just low carb but the glucobalance is giving the same results without the risks. I also don't dare take a taste here and there.

I also know diabetics who eat nothing but garbage. My fav was a friend who "needed" a half a pound of m&m's cuz she was crashing. Sheesh a few tiny m&m's would have sufficed followed by real food.
You have a great week too!
