I have a suggestion for you that seems to help me when I actually do it:

Make up some HB eggs and keep them around. That way I at least have something besides just almonds in my tummy. Then it is eggs and almonds

Have fun at the parties. Are you going to make yourself something LC? I have a delicious carrot cake recipe that folks tell me is better than the high carb version. It is in ELCC. If you don't have it, send me an email

Sharron, I'll tell you how lazy I am................I have hard boiled eggs in the fridge!!!! I need to make eggs salad.
One of the pizza places does and excellent lc pizza. The crust is tortilla like this with a n/s sauce and tons of cheese and goodys. My son loves it so we will be serving it.
I had a seafood lunch today and a sf icecream. I keep getting ill when I eat it so no more I guess.

lunch was a lulu! We stopped at red lobster. I had some fried seafood , a bun and a 1/2 c icecream. I got sick and vomited. I'm wondering if dairy can do that. I got sick the last time I had icecream too.
Oh well on to a new start.

Oh no!

(((hugs)))

I went off dairy for about 2 months recently. The thread is still moderately active -- it is called "off your moo!" in the challenge clubs. What it did for me was help me trace down 2 allergies I didn't know I had: xanthan gum and annato (yellow food dye.) You could certainly try going off dairy -- or just avoid ice cream for a while...

I'm sorry you didn't have a better day, but one thing I've observed in myself (and we seem to function similarly from what I'm reading) is that if I don't give myself a good breakfast -- and believe me it does happen occasionally -- I end up blowing it at lunch! Actually, for the rest of the day!!

Another thing I've found is that when I've had a reaction like that, a good protein and veggie meal will often get me right back on track with feeling better and having control again.

Life is such a learning process...

(((more hugs)))

Sharon, I'll have to check that thread out. Thanks! I'm having bacon and eggs as I type! I'm fine to eat a dinky breakfast if I'm home and have ready access to food but not when on the go. I need to make sure I have a good breakfast if I'm going to be out running.
I have to work today so I have a salad(3, eggs, lots of mayo, pickles) ready to go. We will be going to McDonalds 4 supper as thats where Ds chose for his bday dinner. I'm going to have one of those yummy salads. I'm bringing cupcakes but not 1 for me!

Well I had about half of the egg salad. A handful of almonds, a salad at mcdonalds with a few tbs french and mayo. I made it through with out the cupcakes or licking the spoons or beaters while decorating the cake for the party 2morrow. I did have a bite of coolwhip.

I messed up a bit yesterday with a bit of cake. I forced myself to have bacon this morning while the 6 boys had gooey cinnamon buns. I more hour until all these boys go home! My DS turned 11 and had a sleep over. The last time I reminded rather loudly all the kids to go to sleep it was 1 in the morning. They were all up screaming and running by 6 this morning! Boy am I tired. The kids are still running like crazy though!
No more bdays, no more holidays so no more excuses.

What's terrible about that?

Seriously, it is how I've actually traced down some food allergies! Sometimes, especially if I'm having a hard time of it, I don't notice how I'm feeling right away. But, I do notice when I'm inexplicably up 2 pounds!

Here's to a great LC day!

I was sitting thinking about when I originally lost weight. I started the end of march 2000. By Dec I was in a 6 or 7. From 207 to 134.
I was just stunned how amazinly fast that was. I really analized what was different between then and now.
1. I ate healthy nut, seed, veggie carbs. It wasn't until towards the end of the loss that they got the atkins bars in our area. Even if I ate a bar it was the Atkins high protein bar as a meal replacement and not usually a snack. There were no delicious pure delight chocolate bars.
2. I had 1 non lowcarb treat on the same day ever week(wed). The rest of the day was LC. It was usually a big DQ royal treat but I could never finish it all because it was after a big lc meal. It wasn't like now eat good a few days and then cheat. It was very regimented and planned.
3. I very rarely missed a day of the mon-fri exercise. (I'm doing much better on this now agaijn finally!) That also cut down my chiropracter bills!
4. I didn't own a scale!!!!!!!
5. I drank all my water.
6. I didn't try to severely limit any good carb besides nuts to 1/3 cup.

Sorry to blather on but I'm just trying to figure out why it's not working. I have my answer!!!!!!!!!! Now I just need to follow through. I am quite unhappy with all those 6's not fitting!

B
2 eggs
salsa
venison sausage
cheese

L
can tuna
1/2 cucumber
gob of mayo
2 pickles
On my second bottle of water

s
almonds

d
1/2 burger
2 pc lc bread
ham
mayo
cheese
cauliflower

s
6 oz burger
mayo
catsup

exercise yes!

personally have sort of a wierd motivation. I'm escorting my teen nephews to Ozzfest in augusta. I have so many hip, cute but to LITTLE CLOTHES. I want to be in those cute clothes again by then! I can be older and that doesn't bother me a bit but not looking fit does.

Ya know that fear thing is valid. Not having a scale to weigh on daily also gave me the fear of going overboard.
Gaining really has effected me in a few negative ways. I used to be raring to go out to the clubs dancing etc. Now I never want to go because of the way I look and my clothes not fitting.
I tend to be uncomfotable seeing people who only knew me thin now that I regained. I used to be told "with all those ribs and fat you eat you should be 400 lb and not a tiny thing" " I can't believe your a mother."
I guess having people making such a big deal over having a good shape makes it uncomfotable now that it's temporarily gone.
Emotional baggage blah!!!!!!!! You know though just seeing it in print helps.
In fact I think I'll copy it to my journal.

Mick, your motivation is not weird. I have a closet full of clothes I can't wear either. It is very frustrating.

It does sound like you've analyzed it pretty well, though!

Good job on the exercise
