| yes, I know - it's a week early. But I got myself an Atkins 'calendar' and it starts today, and so am I !!! This week, focusing on regaining good food habits :fork: , water , green tea. Not promising anything on the exercising, but may give it a try. Next week, focus will be on adding the exercise :jumpgreen . yeah, it'll be tapes, but that is a start. changed siggie to match my numbers, cause 'who am I kidding?'. I went back up (at least not over the 200 again!!!). Even if it IS just water weight from the holiday splurges, I'd like to start with a good number for this year. Will be doing Monday morning weighins - cause that is the top of each page of my calendar. had eggs, bacon, cup of green tea for breakfast. Brought over a bag of sliced cucumbers for nibbling. Real test is usually evening anymore. Got to concentrate on when I go home and REALLY STICKING IT!!!

| mary kay... you are starting out 42 lbs LESS THAN what your STARTING weight was.. sounds not too shabby to me... let THAT be the thing you stand proud of ... and head on into the new year with a POSITIVE note... okay? |

| day 1 - yesterday. good day. got in all my water (around 100 oz) - several cups/glasses of green tea. b - 2 eggs, 3 bacon s - 1 cp cucumber (didn't even have dressing) l - burger w/cheese s - olives (had a relish tray leftover), some cheese d - ham (ok, a little honey ham), little beef - (leftovers again), 2 cup salad w/lc french all told, fitday says around 1500 cal, 18-3=15 carbs (maybe a little more with a honey ham, didn't find numbers on it - but didn't have a lot. so, yesterday was good. got my little notebook for tracking. Today will be good too. I just know it. my mind is in the right place. And I can get through this week, then next week start on an exercise program - I'll be back in the LC groove.

| today was pretty good too. Not enough water - got to get on that tomorrow. Just had an eye appt, and then some emergency work hit. When I get into something I have to do quick and test really hard, I lose track of time. But todays food - b - eggs/bacon l - mcd grilled chicken salad s - atkins shake d - hotdogs (been wanting it, now I'm done) cucumber salad/sour cream numbers - 1800 cal, 25-7 = 18 carbs ok. a couple cubes of cheese too. but they are little cubes.

| actually managed to do a little exercising last night. Just a little arm/weight work, and some leg lifts, but just felt a burst of energy before I went to bed. TOM has started, early again. Seems to be about 3 weeks apart now for some reason. DH and DD did grocery shopping last night (I hate it, and they both aren't doing anything this week anyhow). Hubby bought chipped beef and cream cheese and horseradish for beef rollups - I already had some, so think I'll just make myself some for lunch today. Yum. Had my tea, working on my water. Haven't been in ketosis, haven't even bothered checking for a very long time. Got my little strips ready, but not worth checking until tomorrow or Friday anyhow. howver, the chocolate candy on the kitchen table (family treats) that has been calling my name doesn't seem so interesting anymore. Yeah, I gave in a lot over the xmas days. That and DH cookies. I earned anything I put back on, and can't blame anyone but myself. But I'm taking credit for being good this week.

| sounds like you ARE doing good this week,,, i found my hand weights the other day..(baby seems to hide em) so i got to do a bit of the arm work too... mine are 3.5 pounds... what do you use? i wanted some of those HAND grip ones.. they may weigh less but i wanted them for walking with... |

| Thanks for the cheerleading Kim. You're doing so well. Today - good - although I ended up taking an afternoon nap. Don't do that often, but found myself falling asleep in front of my computer. I felt like I slept good last night too, but guess sometimes I need to just catch up. food - water - GOOD!! tea - GOOD b - 2 egg cheese omelet, bacon s - atkins shake (needed something) l - beef rollup (chipped beef, cream cheese) d - salad/blue cheese, turkey slices, broc/cheese numbers 1500 cal, 27-9=18 carbs I feel like I am doing SO MUCH BETTER. Been on a very relaxed plan for about 3-4 months. and a carb fest for about 2 weeks. I;ve got some low carb baking stuff for later in January - I'm all for easy cooking - heck, if I could get away with it - I'm all for no cooking. been having my tea with the liquid splenda, so that helps. YEAH FOR ME!!! I broke out a WATP tape - 1 mile evening walk with leg work - and I did it!!! I do better when I don't commit and just do it. Now, off to take a shower and get a little less sweaty. I plan to sleep well tonight.

| Today , doing well on plan, but I got a nasty headache. But this coming year I am sticking with Atkins. No experimenting with other plans, just Atkins (and maybe a couple tweaks later on this year). Got the Atkins 2005 planner, and the Atkins 2005 day-at-a-glance calendar. The planner is cool, I can use it for a food/exercise journal. And that is all it is for, not trying to make it something it isn't - I have a business planner for that. The day at a glance - I'm hoping that will be a daily motivational thing. Just a reminder there that I am doing something for ME!

| food good - but need some more carbs and calories- b - egg omelet/cheese, bacons - atkins shake l - beef rollups d - turkey slices, big salad s - deviled eggs, yellow pepper (added the yellow pepper to up the carbs.) number = 1175 cal (too low), 25-7 = 18 carb oh, stick was a wee bit pink today. trace, but better than nuttin did get to grocery and stocked up on veggies. DH and DD didn't get me veggies.

| well - feeling fat and bloated this morning - also crampy and headachey - so know it isn't my fault, just that time of month. Meanwhile, will just continue on my plan. New years eve plans are a bbq rib lunch today (will only have a 1/2 slab, and veggies with it) - snacks are set with beef rollups, shrimp cocktails (got my curry dip), and deviled eggs. nothing I will feel off-plan having (well, maybe the bbq, but that's not enough to bother me). we're going to see a movie - most likely Finding Neverland. I've been wanting to see that.

| Its me. I'm back. Weekend was rough - enough said. Today I start the 50 day challenge. 50 days for me cause I divided my 100 day chart in half. Exercise is the one I really, really need to get back into. So I have 50 days cheat-free (does the Kahlua coffee at lunch really mess me up?) - and 50 days to do some kind of exercise every day - did the 1 mile WATP tape this morning). I felt bad (fat, bloated) last week, but it was TOM. Yes, I'm up 5 lbs over the last 2 months, but once TOM started - clothes are back to fitting fine. Got a new shirt at the Harley-Davidson place yesterday. A MEDIUM - At a Harley place? Fits wonderful. lavender with a front graphic and split bell sleeves. really, just t-shirt material, but I love it. Love all my new VS panties and bras. Normal Large from Victorias Secret - another feel-good accomplishment. Back was awful yesterday, so went out and bought a BIG bottle of Aleve. Take 2 before bed and I can get up nearly pain free in the morning. then take one in the morning. I see the dr for a consult 1/25/2005, but that is just the beginning - who knows how long it will take to determine if it is something to worry about, or just old age. I'm afraid to do too much until that is resolved, cause I don't want to aggravate something serious. But I can do the walking tapes. As long as I can walk in the morning. Yesterday morning, not a chance - spent most of the day with a heating pad on the couch. I'm hoping the walking will actually help it some. I won't push on going to Ballys and doing weights/machines until I know better. well, can still do small hand weight work. O magazine had 8-minute hand weight exercises to do each day. Thats about it for now. just have to get through today, then through another day.
