| Oh my goodness Rob...your "babies" are so cute all curled up on the bed like that! Our new kitten, Agnes (well not so new anymore, had her for a few weeks now) has taken to sleeping with us. Vern is a very sound sleeper and rolls over on her...I am constantly elbowing him and telling him, "roll over your squishing your kitty"...he has no recollection of it in the morning...poor lil kitten would get smothered if I was a sound sleeper as well! vickie |

| Katie - I couldn't be a little tiny ball if i tried, LOL. Carolyn Thank you for the Kind words! Merry Christmas to you and yours! Berta - I think they're trying to evict me. I think they took and vote and said "okay the fat guy has to go". LOL Rhonda - yes most of the time I've only gotten up for a minute and they're in my seat. Sophie is the worst. at least sandy will get up when she sees me coming near. Sophie just gives me a look that says " find another spot, I'm comfy". LOL No miles yesterday - will explain below. Thinking of you too!~ Queenmama - That must have made one outrageously cute picture. Heather - NOG to you Then ! lol Gee Gee - thanks for stopping by, Been pretty busy getting ready for this Sunday and haven't had much time to visit other journals. Vickie - Good job keeping your Kitty safe! I haven't had a kitten in 20 years. I got my current cat when she was already grown. I'm estimating she's about 3 years old now. Beach - yes spoiled for sure! Sophie has a very playful disposition. and a great sense of humor. I remember once we were by Tanglewood's stables and they had shoveled the horse manure into a huge pile. Must have been 30 pounds in a foot and a half high mound. Sophie looked at it and backed up to it behind in the air and pretended like she had just made the mess herself. I swear she chuckled and had a big silly grin on her face. Sandy is just a puppy still so her personality hasn't developed as much as sophie's. Franny - HAppy Winter solstice to you too! How'd you know I was a pagan? lol I'll hoist a mug of coffee too but mine will be laced! lol Didn't walk yesterday because I decided to go tot he Tanglewood festival of lights last evening. I figured I'd get to Tanglewood at 5:00 and walk for an hour and go to the light show at 6:00 when it starts. BUt I got there and there were already a dozen people waiting in line so I figured by 6:00 the line would be a mile long. And it was when I left. But it was really beautiful. It wasn't just ststic Christmas light but moving scenes. When I walk there I see the light stands unlit. By the stables there are about a dozen light stands in the shape of horses. Always thought that they would just all be lit at the same time. Not so. The horses are lit in sequence giving the appearance of a single horse galloping across a field. As teh horse nears the roadway it appears to jump over the trees frightening a "CAT" that also jumps over a tree. Took about 35 minutes to get through it all at an everage speed of about 10 mph. | O Rob - I'm sooo glad you saw the light show - wish I could have seen it - sounds wonderful and inspiring! Yes, I suspect dogs have more intelligence than we know. I remember the breeder telling me our blue heeler had the intelligence of an 18 month old. I thought - o yeah - and the other legs plays a tune when you pull it! BUT - when Zaccie was grown - he would pick up his dish and put it into the dishwasher (in the bowl rack) and his toy plastic spoon into the spoon rack - sooooo - dogs 1 - human sceptic - nil! |

| Beach - Love the picture I got in my head of your dog loading the dishwasher. My dogs will clean my plates until they're spotless but that's not the same thing. Mary Kay - Thanks for the Christmas smilie wishes! Merry Christmas to you and Yours! Took the pups on a 5 mile hike yesterday and did most of my Christmas shopping before and after the walk. The pups couldn't figure out why I was leving them in the car so many times while i went to half a dozen stores. |

| Rob...every time I read your journal I know I need to walk more! One of the things I am going to do while I am off work is to explore a new walking route from the trolley station to work so I can walk farther on the days I don't work out at curves. It was too hot here yesterday to be able to leave pups in the car! It was 80 in Santee where I work! By the way, I love the name Splenda for a cat! vickie |

| Hi, Rob. When you talked about dogs licking their bowls clean, it reminded me of a magazine article I read recently about a town that found that the elderly who were getting Meals On Wheels were sharing their lunch with their pets because they couldn't afford pet food. They kept finding trays on the porch completely licked clean, and that was when they suspected that the people were sharing. Someone came up with the idea to find a source for pet food and to take a bag of kibble with the lunch each day, so Fido would have his lunch, too, the person could eat all his own lunch and get all his nourishment. One golden retriever actually gained 10 pounds in just a few weeks, because he had been so undernourished. People need their pets as much as they need the food, and this was such a tremendous help that a dog food company donated enough dog food to help out the program in 3 counties. Thought you as a dog lover might like this story. Have a great day, Rob.
