Ahhh...fur-babies!! So MUCH love!! Don't know what I'd do without my little 'boy', who is always there to provide a gentle nuzzle when I'm feeling blue. And he's always good for a few belly laughs with his crazy antics. He REALLY loved Christmas...he practically climbed into the big shopping bag that contained his new fuzzy squeaky toys. Then he kept walking amongst us, tossing his new pink bunny into the air to entertain everyone...quite a little juggling jester!

Rob, just stopping by to wish you a good week! I think I need to go back to work so I can rest up. I am exhausted, but it was a good Christmas.

So what do you and the furkin (LOVE the new term Stephen - very clever!) have planned for New Year's Rob? Will you all stay up for it?

They are pretty special Katie.

Rhonda - Good job on the long walk! BAck to work to rest up? LOL Well whatever works for you.

Stephen - Glad you have the opportunity to enjoy other people's furkids!

Franny - Sounds cute. I wish i could have been with my "kids" Christmas Day as well as night. Poor sandy made a mess in her cage, right on the blanket. But she was smart and turned the blanket upside down to hide it. Of course I smelled it immediately when I got home.

Carolyn - I enjoyed the Ham at Christmas immensely. It cost my Dad about $70 but it was probably the best one I've ever eaten. But I'm hammed out after one dinner and one sandwich. Just too much sodium for my blood pressure. I love Rib-eye roasts. And I'm with you on the holiday weight gain. I'm too ashamed to admit how much I've gained since Thanksgiving. I will admit it come New years. well maybe Jan 3 since I'll be in the throes of Champagne bloat New years day and the day after.

Beach - I'm thinking New Years Eve I'll be in bed by 11:00 which for me is staying up late. LOL Unless my sister invites me over to their house then I'll see the New year in (if I can stay awake).

I'm doing well on my walking lately. monday - 5.25 miles (8.5 km) and yesterday 7.0 miles (11.25 km). So far I've logged in 106.25 miles (171 km) for December. That's already 30 mles more than I did all last December. Hoping to reach 120 miles at least this month.

At least I've eaten all the Christmas goodies except for one item. I'll make that tonight. a sugar free chocolate mousse mix called san sucre that my sister gave me. I hate to get on the scale aftr all the holiday indulging I've done the past few weeks. Just in the past 3 days I've eaten about 3 cups of nuts.

Rob, the nuts are my worst enemy as well. Glad they are all out of the house. Packaged up the rest that were left in care packages for the family.

Not sure I will be drinking this New Year's Eve. Probably have to be the designated driver for the kiddos.... and think I had enough wine to float a ship over the Christmas season.... I just cannot handle my alcohol anymore..... but that is a good thing

Have a great day my friend!

I love nuts too, Rob. I have to only roast enough for a particular snack and not make them in quantity at all.

Hi, Rob. Just stopped by to say hi. Nuts are my weakness, too, but I usually don't think to eat them until evening, and by then my bottom denture is loose enough that I can't handle nuts, so I have an automatic limiting system.

I envy you the ability to walk so much. Keep it up.

O yep Rob -staying awake on New Years is the worst thing! We always go down to the beach about 11.45 with our sparklers and run about on the sand with them at midnight. Last night DS came for seafood and brought his video - Gettysburg - its a good movie - I've seen it - but DH hadn't - just as well I had - I went to sleep in the first 5 minutes! They are planning to watch the rest on New Years - I've told them to wake me up to go to the beach!

Rhonda - I know what you mean about alcohol tolerance decreasing with low carb. I used to be able to handle huge amounts of wine without feeling it. Of course I was 310 pounds then. I actually slept until 6:45 this morning. I must be coming down with something. lol

Katie, Nita, Tina - I think we need a new challenge - Banishing nuts from our larders in 2006. The only way I can handle them is to buy the 1.5 - 2 ounce bags and have that as lunch. Way too many calories for a snack.

Rafaella - Thanks. I do the same with apples. I can make an apple last several days sometimes. LOve them but a whole apple is too many carbs for eating in one sitting on my Woe. I Like to put a few slices in my salads (along with some walnuts - ouch).

Beach - I don't think I've ever seen teh Movie Gettysburg? Don't know why?
I think we need to turn the clocks ahead 2 hours and pretend it's midnight.

Walked 6.25 miles yesterday at Tanglewood Park. It was kind of funny. When i left my house the day was dreary. Not a hint of sun. by the time I got to Tanglewood, though, the sun was shining and it seemed 10 degrees warmer. I'm thinking I'm truly blessed to have the weather accomodate me like this. The lesson here is never get too confident or cocky. About 15 minutes before I got back to my car the skies opened and it poured. I got soaked. And the pups were none too pleased. Not to mention the smell of wet dog in a closed car. mileage: 112.50 miles (181 km)

LOL Rob! We own Gettysburg and Gods and Generals, which are both part of the same series of movies. There will be a 3rd one coming out sometime in the future. I personally prefer Gods and Generals since it is about the beginning of the war when the South was still winning (Gettysburg was the turning point for the final outcome). My DH is a civil war re-enactor and my 4 year-old thinks he's a Rebel and wants to "shoot Yankees". Oh my... that did make us sound backward, didn't it?

Rob - at the time I need to go to sleep I reckon 4 hours forward would be fine! I enjoyed Gettysburg - its true as Felonee says though - national movies do tend to reflect historical attitudes - some of Aus's ones make me cringe! Nuts - yep - disastrous for me too. I just realised sunflower kernals are nuts! I thought they were seeds! Oops!!
