| Beach - I thought sunflower seeds were seeds too. 4 hours sounds about right for me too. lol Katie - LOL@backward comment. I'll have to start looking for Gettysburg and Gods and Generals at my library. Walked 4.5 miles at Tanglewood yesterday. I may skip today as I need to get too much done between today and tomorrow. We'll see. |

Rob--I popped in to catch up...then something about banishing nuts caught my eye and I decided to leave a note. I stopped eating cashews after Katrina. I snacked on them during the storm...and quite frankly, I couldnt stand to look at them after that. I started losing again. I miss them though. |

| Yeah, Rob... I have to watch what I post or I have a tendency to make my DH cringe... things like "the washer and dryer are outside", "the clothesline is back by the chicken house", "the tractor's broke and I can't fix it", "I ain't"... Great walk yesterday! I'm thinking about buying a pedometer so that I can start tracking my "steps" see how much exercise I really get. I swear I make 100 trips between the living room and the kitchen every night, with someone wanting something every 30 seconds (usually right after I sit down), and me being the only one who is willing to go looking for whatever it is. All that back and forth must add up to something! I hope you have a wonderful day!

| Hi, Rob. Just popped in to say Hi. And sunflower seeds are seeds, but you should probably treat them the same as nuts. One year we grew a row of sunflowers, and the birds just loved the seeds. Hope you have a wonderful day.

| Rhonda - I missed your post this morning. I sort of started my post and then went off and read my emails and came back to finish. So we were posting at the same time even though the times are 23 minutes apart. TGIF!!! hope you can get monday off. GeeGee - I do the same thing, i get so sick of a nut I've pigged out on that i can't bear to look at them. But I get over it in a couple months. Glad that you've started losing again. Katie - YOUR laundry facilities are outside too? So are mine. weird but better than no washer/dryer. The good part is I don;t have to hear them. A pedometer is a good motivator, Get one! Nita - I thought they were seeds but you;re right they are just as dangerous as nuts, addictive and very dense with calories. Walked 6 miles at tanglewood today. Lovely day, sunny and 60 degrees (15.5C). The puppy was a pain in the ***. Would not come to me when called and kept going into the horse corrals and trying to make friends with those really big dogs. Then when I finally got her on the leash she started wrestling with sophie and tangling us all up in leashes. Finally i just let go of sophie's leash since we were still in a field. So what does Sandy do? She grabs sophie's leash in her teeth and drags her back to fight some more. LOL Today's walk makes a total of 123 miles (198km) for December. Wanted to skip tomorrow but all i need to walk is a miel and a quarter to reach 200 km. Sounds like so much more than 198. |

| Rob - re sunflowers - yep - its the calories that classify them as nuts I think. I was sure they were seeds - I mean one can SEE them as seeds - but its also something about 'kernals' associations and that seems to be where the calories are coming from - in any case - bad assumption they are OK! In fact - probably safer to assume ANYTHING we really enjoy is bad for us!!!! |

| Beach - Yes, I always assume if I like something a lot then it's very dense calorically. I mean I never eat several heads of lettuce in one sitting, do I? Thanks for the New years Wishes everyone! I felt like Solomon this morning. While shopping at the supermarket yesterday I spied a packet labelled 'Dog Bones' in the meat section. So I bought it. They were inch thick sections of marrow bones. The pups loved them but there were 5 of them in the packet and that doesn' t divide evenly. The bones are so hard that even a half hour of dog chewing didn't put a scratch in them so I figured I certainly couldn't hope to divide it in half. I was ready to trash it before I would play favorites. But I decided to try and split it. Ruined my ginzu knife doing it but using a mallet and the aformentioned knife I managed a pretty even split. Must get in at least a mile and a half today. Though I will aim for 2 or more. Going to my sister's house for New Years Eve celebrating tonight. My great niece will be there since her parents are out celebrating somewhere else and her grandmother (my sister) is babysitting. Should be fun. I'm bringing 2 pounds of oxymoronic shrimp (Jumbo shrimp) and some homemade low carb cocktail and remoulade sauce for dipping. |

| Thanks Everyone! Did my last walk for the year which brought my December total to 125 miles (201 km). And my 2005 total miles walked to 1146 (1845 KM). Got the scare of my life when I was taking the dogs out of the car to go to the pet shop for pet supplies. Sophie loves the place since it has so much dog food and dog treats and must smell of the hundreds of dogs that go in there every week. Anyway I take sandy and sophie out of teh car and sophie makes a break for it, yanking hard on the leash. The leash broke and she ran right in front of an SUV. Thank goodness the guywas driving slow (ever see an SUV driving fast?). Anyway Sophie ran into the store and it took some time to get her back on the leash I purchased while was there. |
