Rob...... I had to stop in tonight and visit my favorite herb/walker man Hope you are doing well....... been a beautiful day here in KC, only wish I would have seen more of it besides the 21st floor. Did water all my new members to the household.... and planted my herbs in the shallow dish (even a little water bowl in the center as you suggested) so can hardly wait until the herbs are ripe for picking and even more beautiful birds come to visit....

Kim - I miss the chinese buffets. And guess which part I miss most. The soup bowl of wasabi I used to finish with the non raw sushi they have at my favorite one. Don't do raw seafood.

Rhonda - You're doing better than me. I still haven't worked up the ambition to transplant my hebs to the terra cotta pots. Sometime this week for sure. I still need a few more herbs from my nursery.

I'm so happy! I just a few minutes ago located my neices dog that ran away on saturday. My sister lives in a different county from me but the dog appeared on the lost and found list for my county. Well I sdon;t know for sure if it's Julie this woman found but it was found fairly close to where my sister lives. Today for sure a nice long walk. It's gonna be 82! and SUNNY!!

Rob I miss Chinese food too. Cashew chicken is still an option with out the rice along with a few other things like egg foo young...just a matter of sticking to the meat and veggies.
I'm sure Spring is in full bloom in NC, should be a great day for a walk, I'll be out there too.
Hope the dog turns out to be Julie!

Gregg - I have been to my favorite chinese buffet since I've been low carbing but I always give in to the General Tso's chicken and that is a no-no. Ah well twice in 2 years won't kill me. Yes it turned out to be Julie. I figured it was since how many Huskie's were lost this past weekend in one location?

Walked yesterday 4.5 miles. Then went to 5 or 6 different stores for various reasons. 3 were those really big store like walmart adn home depot where I probably walked 1/2 mile each place. So total walking yesterday according to my pedometer was 8 miles. The temp yesterday (and today) was 85 degrees. Too hot for April! But by the weekend the highs go back where they belong, in teh 60s and low 70s.

I can understand not wanting to go to chinese buffetts... oh how I love them also.... but do you make chinese at home... to give you some of those
flavors you are missing.... I will do beef/broccoli stir fry, or a chicken curry stir fry, etc... even make my own hot and sour soup....
We have one chinese/american/japaneese buffet here that has boiled shrimp, oysters (cold), crab legs, and craw fish on their buffett... there is also
about 3 other dishes with shirmp in them.... I have been known to go in there
and sit down and eat lots of crab legs and shrimp and almost nothing else....
hope you have a good weekend....
went to walmart to get some more of my favorite chips for campout this weekend, and they only had CarbFocus air poped potato chips,... not sure how they taste, but they are similar in carb count to the flax seed tortilla chips.
Since they only had small bags, that should keep me on track this weekend.

Rhonda - Bah Tornados scare the heck out of me. I was once driving to South CArolina and spotted this huge black twister in the not so far distance (probably 5 or 10 miles) I was 100 miles from home and I just turned around and drove all the way home as fast as avoiding a speeding ticket would allow.

Carolyn - I do stir fries in my wok but never quite duplicate that authentic chinese taste even with ingredients like fresh ginger and soy sauce. I've done that all you can eat crab leg buffet before and they keep trying to foist the bread on me. LOL. Low carb made this restaurant stop the buffet last year.

A good weekend to you all!

I walked 5.5 miles yesterday and completed day 2 of the EAt clean for a week challenge. Have eaten less than 2800 calories total in those 2 days so I think this challenge has been a help.

I am with you Rob on tornadoes scaring the you know what out of me! Guess that is why all the homes here in MO have basements.... They do have a great warning system in my area and can hear the sirens for miles.... Grew up in tornado alley, so know and appreciate the dangers of them. Fortunately, most of them have skipped over my houses ..... there is a God! Growing up tho, my parents lost their house due to one.... fortunately, we were in the storm cellar. I can still remember the devasation of that one... still have nightmares about it from time to time. My father lost a lot of cattle that day....

Hope you are enjoying your morning.... know you are an early bird just like me

Rhonda - That sounds absolutely frightening.

I am an early bird! But there's sometimes too much of one. Witness that I'm typing this at :3:37 a.m. But the night before i woke up at 2:30 and never got back to sleep. So last night I conked out at 7:00. woke at midnight and have been up since. I'm praying that I get a nap before I have to go to my sister's house.

I am so lazy. I'm sitting at my computer on the second story of my condo and am dying of thirst. But am too lazy to walk downstairs and refill my water pitcher. I could use bathroom water but I've gotten spoiled by the taste of Pur Ultra filtered water. No excuses. I'm going now! Be right back.

I walked 5.5 miles yesterday at the lake and when I still had 2.5 miles left to get to my car, it started to rain. Not hard but enough to make me cold. But I had a good walking week. 27.5 miles!!

Rob, sounds like you're getting your days & nights mixed up! My DS does the same thing a lot.

I have to so admire your dedication to walking. I bet that added years to your life on the longevity survey.

Susie - Yes I gained more than 3 decades according to that longevity calculator.

Update - I went for a nap at around 5:00 a.m. and didn't expect to sleep (I never do). But I figured at least I'd be resting. Well lo and behold I slept 3 hours. I feel great!
