Gregg - They are only as spicy as the hot sauce you use. I use Texas Pete because it's not horribly hot and it's reasonably priced since it's made here in my town. Franks hot sauce is similar and doesn't burn your tongue off either.
I understand the shower comment, have had to wear a snorkel from eating really hot foods as the sweat pooled around my chin. lol Yes dipping is fine but I'm lazy and just pour the sauce over them in a bowl and toss by hand and then into the baking pan to cook. You can shake the pan a time or two while they cook but I've been known not to (more often than not - see I'm lazy comment above).

Kim - If you really like really hot stuff use one of those rocket fuel hot seasoning sauces.

This diverticulitis remedy is almost as bad as the disease. NAh not even close. day 4 today of 2 very powerful antibiotics and they are kicking my Bu**. Couldn't walk yesterday and may not be able to until next thursday or friday unless I feel better sooner. The following sentence is for people with strong stomaches so stop reading here is that is you. Finally had a BM this morning. Thank the Lord. First one since Monday really early morning. I was worried until I realized I had no solid foods on sunday and monday.

Ok resume!

SEE KIM? Na na na na nana! Sometimes really spicy stuff makes me sweat lik a ..... well let's just say sweaty person.
Yeah Rob, those antibiotics WILL kick yer butt. It can be hard to know what's making you feel poorly now the diverticulitis or the meds. IMHO BM's are highly under rated. I can appreciate your relief.
Well it's definitely ROB'S WINGS this weekend for me. I'll have a couple for YOU too Rob. Get better soon will ya bud?

Yes Gregg I agree - underrated fer sher. Enjoy dem wings! I'll definitely be making them for superbowl!

Kim - you got that right on the side effects, both my meds have long long lists of side effects including such hair raisers as ruptured tendons. I'm even supposed to watch for vaginal discharge???? Ah well it'll cure ya if it don't kill ya.

Still fell beat. But sophie was looking so miserable after not walking yesterday that I drove her to the park and did a mile. We ran across 4 deer standing side by side and they took off when they saw us. Sophie tore off after them and came back 10 minutes later panting for her life. She loved it!

Had poached chicken breast with leeks and mushrooms for dinner. Kind of came out like a soup. Have decided to eat bland food for a few days and maybe that will help. It was kinda tasty but my calories will be pretty low if i continue to eat this way. Here it is after dinner and i've only had 1200 calories. I WILL NEED A SNACK LATER!!

KIm - Green beans with bacon grease does sound "dang good". I rarely even put butter on my veggies. But my favorite veggie recipe is to clean up some raw broccoli and divide it into small pieces. Peel and slice the stems about 1/2 inch thick. Put a couple tbs olive oil in a medium hot pan and add a few cloves of sliced garlic and add broccoli. stir to coat and cover pan, turn heat DOWN to medium to medium low, stir every 2 minutes or so. Takes about 12 mins to cook this way and comes out a little crisp but good. If you like your broccoli more "well" done add a few tbs chicken broth or water the last few mins of cooking and shorten time to 10 minutes.

Sorry no over night delivery but I can send em 3rd class mail! lol - don't worry about the green color - that's the sauce. Yes the sauce.

I just wanted to cut and paste in a few items from my old journal just to have them handy.

I was reading a book about dogs a month or so ago and they explained something i had always wondered about. When I walk sophie she sniffs at any vertical object like a lamppost or a fence. And as she sniffs she starts at the bottom and sniffs up. mostly she sniffs a foot or less. But every once in a while she'll sniff higher and higher and if she goes about1 1/2 feet her floppy ears will shoot straight up like a fun house door. It always puzzled me. But this book (How Dogs Think) explained that dogs leave each other messages in urine. That much I sorta knew. And big dogs can pee higher up the pole. Generally big dogs are considered leaders to smaller dogs. Or at least smaller dogs will think so. Cocker spaniel owners will rightly dipsute this theory. LOl. When sophie meets a really big dog like a great Dane she bows down and keeps perfectly still. So sniffing up a foot and a half is the equivalent in a dogs mind of meeting a big dog. This also explains why when I do my long walks in the woods and I have my own nature call far from any rest room she always comes over tot he tree and sniffs and as she sniffs up and looks at me with a look that says "showoff". Kids never respect their parents, do they?

Just listening to an old Joan Baez album that I have on my computer (yes I'm that old). One song that I never paid very much attention to that J.B. was singing prompted me to do more research. it was written by Donovan, supposedly inspired by his wife Linda. I thought the lyrics were charming (a word I've never used in print before).

Legend of a girl child Linda

I will bring you gold apples and grapes made of rubies
That have shone in the eyes of a prince of the breeze.

Bright cascading crystals, they danced in the sand dunes
On the beach of no footprints to harpsichord tunes.

A throne of white ivory, a gown of white lace
Lies still in the magic of a timeless place.

One hundred small children, they laugh at the white doves
That rest on their hands with the touch of love.

On a hillside of velvet the children they lay down
And make fun of the grown-ups with their silly frown.

And the sound of their laughter is the sound of the green sea
As it washed around the foot of the seashell tree.

The doves circle over and land in the trees
Where parrots are talking their words with such ease.

Thus spoke three wizards to the young ones that day:
"There's sadness in the kingdom, make it go far away."

If you follow the sunbeams through the valley of flowers
To the palace of the White Queen with its white jade towers.

The youngest, she sighed then the clouds drew away
And a hundred small fingers scratched their heads in dismay.

From out of the sun a giant gull came flying
And the children got ready to sit on its wings.
They waved to the raindrops as they soared over the trees
The wind tossed their hair high, flashing gold on the sea.

They came to the castle and there they did fall,
And they saw all the sadness, through the crystal wall.

A princess lay a-sleeping so gentle and kind
Whilst her prince took to battle with his confused mind.

The clash of bright metal brought the children fear,
But their cloaks of blue satin dried up all of these tears.

Thus children held hands and they spelled out their name
All the golden children became a golden chain.

It lies on a white throne in a magic place
With a tunic of velvet and a gown of white lace.

My sword, it lies broken and cast in a lake
In a dream I was told that my princess would wake.

Okay I couldn't print Donovan Lyrics without including Bob Dylan

How many roads must a man walk down
Before you call him a man?
Yes, ?n? how many seas must a white dove sail
Before she sleeps in the sand?
Yes, ?n? how many times must the cannon balls fly
Before they?re forever banned?
The answer, my friend, is blowin? in the wind,
The answer is blowin? in the wind.

How many times must a man look up
Before he can see the sky?
Yes, ?n? how many ears must one man have
Before he can hear people cry?
Yes, ?n? how many deaths will it take till he knows
That too many people have died?
The answer, my friend, is blowin? in the wind,
The answer is blowin? in the wind.

How many years can a mountain exist
Before it?s washed to the sea?
Yes, ?n? how many years can some people exist
Before they?re allowed to be free?
Yes, ?n? how many times can a man turn his head,
Pretending he just doesn?t see?
The answer, my friend, is blowin? in the wind,
The answer is blowin? in the wind.

QUIZ-Who wrote this verse? In what song?

Now the only thing a gambler needs
Is a suitcase and a trunk
And the only time he?s satisfied
Is when he?s on a drunk

Kenny Rogers in the Gambler?

A wild, wild guess. Country music? is not my forte.
