Most people say it's too hot to eat when the thermometer hits the 90's. I say what's for second dinner? Just take some mayo and add wasabi powder and crushed garlic and voila-wasbi aioli.

I made the mistake of thinking that if i prepared a lot of quick snack foods i wouldn't be so tempted to eat the things i know give me problems (like pecans-don't ask). so i made a dozen h.b. eggs and a mess o' chicken legs. well had 2 chicken legs for dinner and 5 eggs have disappeared along with a third chicken leg sometime between dinner and this morning. Has anyone seen them (besides my colon)?
Going to try that wasabi, mayo and crushed garlic thingie Rob.... Always use wasabi and mayo, but never thought about adding garlic....... thanks!

And Rob....... you are truly a RIOT!

5 eggs and a few chicken legs sounds okay for INDUCTION... but if you are adding ANYTHING but fresh veggies to THAT.. i can see where you AND your colon could be in deep ca ca ...so to speak...

Rhonda - The wasabi aioli would be even better made from scratch. Then wait a day or a few hours for flavors to meld.

Kim - @ the deep ca ca crack.

If i could eat like yesterday every day I'd be back on track. 1400 calories and 26 net carbs. excellent. HAd some trout grilled with the roasted garlic aioli on one side and the wasabi aioli on the other. well when i say grilled - i mean i used my grill pan. came out very tasty. although the sauce burned pretty much and pulled the skin off the fish. Still excellent with a side dish of yellow squash and broccoli sauteed in olive oil and garlic. And quick to make which is the most important thing on a 94 degree day.

Glad you have such an active life style Rob, but still it seems to me 6 miles in that kind of heat sounds kind of nutty, like OCD.

Stephen - I do tend to get compulsive about certain things. Walking seems to be one of them.

I've missed walking my long, 5 miles or more, walks for the past week. So yesterday I went out early and did 6 miles at Tanglewood park. It wasn't as humid and i drank a half gallon of water as I walked. I wore a backpack to keep the water in. Sophie was so thrilled to be there after a week of being house bound.

Tody and tomorrow are going to be dangerously hot. today 98 degrees and tomorrow close to that. But the good news is by friday the highs will only be in the low 80s. That will seem frigid.

I did better than usual with my Sunday at my sister's house. yes i drank miller lite beers and yes the goldfish crackers called my name and i answered. But I finally read the nutrition label on those goldfish crackers and there's 60 of those little dolphin shaped cheese crackers per serving and only 18 carbs. can't remember the fiber count if any. Still not what i call an on plan day but I had been estimating a lot more carbs than I should have. Today I am going to get myself back on track. I'm toying with the idea of doing a semi-induction for about 5 or 6 days. maybe limit carbs to under 30. I know my weight is up but haven't weighed in a month. actually here's a secret, don't tell. The reason i haven't weighed is because I had to put my bathroom scale under the bathroom sink to make room for the cat litter box. I moved it from next to my computer to next to the tub.

Shelley - Nice to see you! seems like more than half the country is in that heat zone. I'm just glad that it starts to cool down bythe end of the week here and I hope there.

Kim - Good luck! So dos that mean you gave in to the call of the WCs or not?

Only thing i did all day was go shopping. The cat had destroyed the mini blinds in the living room and the kitchen so I was making do in the kitchen with just light cafe curtains. The living room blinds i left even though they looked like crap. but I also have heavy lined drapes there. But when i heard it wa going up to 99 I ran out and bought new blinds for both the kitchen and living room windows. I paid $48 for one living room blind last time i bougt them because Home depot said they had to be custom made. BIG lots had a blind size that fit perfectly for $2.99. where is my I am a Dork t-shirt. Okay this new blind isn't as nice as the Bali i had before.

Made a really good dinner tonight. Lord knows why I choose to make something this elaborate on such a hot day. Anyway I was going to male Rachel's Pecan chicken that she posted in the cooking forum over a week ago. So i bought the pecans while i was out shopping today. So then i get to thinking what if i made the pecan coating on the chicken breasts after I stuffed them with prociutto and cheese and rolled them. You know like chicken cordon bleu. Followed Rachel's recipe exactly for the ground pecan parmesan basil coating mixture. excellent! This is a keeper. Sophie and Splenda couldn't get enough. I also made a low carb pasta with a tiny bit of chopped pepperoni and mushrooms, a little tomato sauce (1 tbs) and some brandy (Yes I flamed it but only because I'm a pyromaniac). a last minute sprinking of parmesan cheese made it go great with the Rachel's Pecan chicken cordon bleu, Italian style.

Yes, it was Franny!

another day in HE double L. It's 98 right now and I can even feel it through the a/c. There wasa report on the news that stated that most air conditioning has trouble dealing with more tahn 20 degrees difference between outside and inside temperatures So I turned my thermostat to 79 to avoid problems. No walks but i did go to Walmart twice. Bought a new printer and when i went to install it I couldn't find the usb cable. Read the instructions and there was a little box that said "this device may or may not come with a USB cable" so had to go back and spend another $10. I prolly walked over a mile at walmart since i needed stuff on both sides of the store BOTH times i was there.

Tonight's dinner will be very simple. Boil some hot dogs and eat with sauerkraut on low carb bread. It just sounded easy and not heat making.

I think I am in LOVE Rob! What a fabulous meal! Glad Sophie and Splenda got to partake even though I could not :( Hey, hot dogs and sauerkraut on l/c bread sounds wonderful too..... not as exotic, but cannot do that every day What kind of l/c bread do you buy and how many carbs per slice? The ones I see here have like 9 net carbs per slice and just too much for me to want to do with bread.

My air-con blinks and carries on at me if there is that much variation Rob - and the installer said to turn it down a bit. So yep - I do that too. Printers apparently do NOT come with USB cables nowdays - really annoying! O hey - yep - hardware stores eh! Huge - and ours here are NEVER air-cond. I buy all my hardware supplies in the winter - its like getting in firewood in the summer!
