Kim -Beach - Thanks for commiserating! Mad keen is a ctach phrase. Could that be where they got the term catch phrase? Nah.

Funny story about Line C KIm. Reminds me of an old cartoon. The Big Owl is sitting in a tree doing his taxes and he's reading out loud. "Add line 3 and lines 4 and write the answer here. So he writes the words line 7 (ya get it line 3 +line 4) never mind.

Started feeling a little better and got out there for a quick walk. So 2 miles is better than nothing. had bacon wrapped trout for dinner, pretty good, maybe a trifle overcooked because i wanted the bacon cooked. fussy me.

Kim - me neither! I never had it either I just wanted an excuse to use up the last 2 slices of bacon that have been in my freezer since march. I'm not a big bacon eater.

I did eat all day yesterday. Maybe it was that slim Jim giving me cravings? maybe I'm just a pig. BUt here's all i had:

1 H.b. egg, 1 haas avocado (yes the whole thing but half at a time), 1tbs aioli, 2 ounces 1/2 and 1/2 (with coffee), 1.75 ounces sunflower seeds, 4 sugar free pudding cups (yes 4 spread throughout the day), 1/2 pound of trout fillets, 1 cup chopped broccoli, 1.25 ounces swiss cheese, i ounce sliced turkey breast, 1/2 apple, 2 ounces roquefort cheese. a slim jim and cheddar combo pack. romaine lettuce and tomato and cucumber salad.

I only got ina 2 mile walk today. It was 92 degrees and sophie was looking exhausted. Me to i guess. Better n' nuttin!

Rob, sorry about your DL thingie. It's going to be a REAL pain in the butt to get mine renewed in MO. They just passed this statute or law or whatever in MO that you have to have your birth certificate in order to obtain or renew a license. Haven't seen my birth certificate in YEARS. I think it's crazy, especially when renewals have their pictures already on the license. Sure no one in the world looks like me! Anyway, have to order my birth certificate soon as my license expires on my bday.... which unfortunately.... seems is never far enough away! Hope you are feeling better.

i had the same problem rhonda... hadnt seen a birth certificate in YEARS and years...
mom always had my BAPTISMAL certificate.. (which for you youngins USED to be used almost as GOOD as a birth certificate)
when i started having problems with using THAT ... i finally found a birth certificate that my mom had buried somewhere... (i hope i can find it in a few years when MINE expires...

i also have my SS# in my MAIDEN name.. which never caused a problem until LAST YEAR believe it or not..

the IRS gave me trouble over it LAST YEAR..*L*..
i still havent changed it.. it is in my 16 year old kid handwriting (does anyone beside me remember PRACTICING writing your SIGNATURE..) that looks NOTHING like my handwriting now.. infact the blippin SLANT goes the OPPOSITE direction even..

    where was i?
oh.. so anyway... they just told me i had to sign my name as the socialsecurity card says.. and then end it with my MARRIED name ...

which is kinda cool... because when i divorced my ex.. the court wouldnt LET me have my MAIDEN name back because the lawyer didnt file a paper in time to ask for it *L*

now they are BEGGING me to use my maiden *L*

god the world can be wierd sometimes..

    aint it great? :-)

Tina - 98 ugh, we had that last week. horrible. makes my 92 degrees today seem cool.

Rhonda - That's weird. If you had a license already they saw your proof before. ah well! Order a copy now so you'll have it in plenty of time.

Kim - Journal jackin' fer sure. calories were somewhere in the neighborhood of 3200 for the day. carbs I think were close to 70.

Decided to treat myself to a Big ol angus beef ribeye steak for dinner tonight. Man was that good. and since sophie got the fat and the bone there were only about 500 calories I ate. Fried onions and creamed spinach with parmesan and nutmeg made it an outstanding meal.

hmmmmm so i guess 3200 for the day is BAD ? ya know.. i have never really COUNTED carbs since induction... might check the count for a certain THING from time to time... or if its something i dont KNOW the count for .. but i really dont KNOW what i EAT on a normal day in the way of carbs..

i had read once.. i SHOOT for 0 and i usually end up with 20 or so..*L*

Kim - nah, I never expect anyone else to be as OCD about food tracking as I am. so cancel them paramedicos right now. 3200 is bad because i won't lose weight and may even gain an ounce or two at that many calories. according to fitday i burn 2600 calories a day if i don't exercise (walk). so 600 extra calories could mean about 2 and 3/4 ounces (600/3500 *16).

Got through yesteday. It woulda been my mom's 79th birthday if she were alive. But it was 20 years ago, on her birthday, that I found out she had been diagnosed with a very fast spreading lung cancer. She was gone less than 7 weeks later. like i said i got through it with help from my friend Jim (Beam).

Rob, sorry about the sad memories on your mother's bday.... I have those too. In fact, my father's bday was a couple of weeks ago and it is ALWAYS difficult because I miss him every day....... I can relate to finding comfort with Jim Beam during those difficult times..... I have been known to do the same, however, it is usually a little "Southern Comfort" that I go for. At least, we have those precious memories that make us smile from time to time of our parents....

Rhonda - The memories are the best part but also the part that can hurt. But I'm fine after 20 years as far as msot days of the year. It's just her Birthday and Christmas when it affects me.

I made a really delicious dinner tonight. Cuuried chicken and cabbage. I'll write the recipe here so I'll know where to find it when i forget how i made it.

Lessee - i took 1 1/2 cups of cubed chicken breast and cooked it in a tiny bit of butter. removed it from pan and added a tbs of butter. Then 1/4 cup chopped red onion and cooked it about 3 minutes. Then added 3 cups shredded cabbage and cooked about 10 minutes more stirring a lot. add a teaspoon or more of curry powder and salt and pepper to taste. I used a lot of pepper. add 3/4 cup of chicken broth and 1/3 cup half and half (or heavy cream). add back cooked chicken. cook covered 5 or 6 minutes then thicken with xanthan gum (a tiny bit dissolved in water). Would be a good way to use up leftover chicken or even beef pork or turkey. Serves 2 (unless I'm one of the 2 then serves 1).

If i eat nothing else tonight my calories/carbs will be 1115/31. Even if i do eat something else my numbers should be pretty good.

Rob, the chicken receipe sounds great. I'll hafta try that one out.

As for the memories of loved ones gone, I hear ya', brother. Tuesday was my youngest son's birthday. He is now 14 years old. The last time I saw him he was 9. I wonder daily what he looks like. I miss his laugh and smile.

    Anyway.......change of subject here.......

I was looking into your photo album and, even though I'm not a cat person, I must say that Splenda is gorgeous. We've got two cats -- kittens -- felines -- whatever -- but I still much prefer our chocolate Lab, Hershey. She allows Chubbs (one of the cats) to lay up against her. I'm so proud of her for not wanting to bite the crap outta them.

Do Splenda and Sophie get along well?
