Default Rob's 2005 Journal

I figure it's time I started a new journal as the old one has over 600 entries.
But also because I want to renew my dedication to low carb and losing more weight. In fact re-losing the weight I gained from the holidays. I'm not going to weigh-in for this week and maybe not until next month.

Here's some stats for 2004 (because Kim likes statistics so much. ;-)

Last year I walked 1079 miles, that's an average of 90 miles a month (app).

Last year my average daily calories were a little over 2250.

last year my average daily net carbs were 50 g.

last year my average daily fiber intake was 23 g.

My lowest weight for this year was 202.5 (signature weight).

My highest weight this year was 237.5 (at start of year). so only 35 pounds lost in 2004. But hey that was eating 2250 calories a day. I'm not a big guy. Only 5'9" so 2250 calories is quite a lot to eat while losing weight.

You go Rob! My favorite number is one you didn't even mention 107.5 lost! And only 22.5 to go! Obviously your dedication is superb! Great going!

Thanks Greg! I think you've done fantastic too even with a little weight gained back you are back on track already.

Hey back at ya shelley.

I'm, copying over the comments from my old journal so I will have it all in one place for 2005.

Kim - No ya got it wrong, really!!! At night I turn the heat off and gather the animals in my bedroom and put on an electric heater. Why should i heat my whole drafty old condo when I can just heat 160 sq feet of it. Okay there have been times on really cold nights when I woke up in the morning to 50 degrees in the living room. But I'm tough.

Melissa - Soft touch must be stamped on my forhead. I have never gone looking for an animal. Every animal i ever had was either headed for the animal shelter, a stray, or just neglected by the old owner

i probably should start a new journal for this year... but hey.. i figure people can go to the "LAST ENTRY" and not go through all the crap... unless they go from the link in my SIGGY which will take em all the way back to my FIRST journal entry...

Shelley - Thanks for the suggestion. It's locked. And if anyone is offended by that then I will just say Shelley made me do it. LOL

Kim - <cheesy grin> back at ya!

Carolyn - Thank you for the kind words! You've stuck to this wol almost as long as I have, so you get to b an inspiration too! Good luck on the challenge, I wouldn't have the courage to commit to 100 days. MAybe 4?

I finally did my ab exercise for the first time in like a week. Okay 8 days. I need to start doing them weekdays, every weekday! I did walk 4 miles today but it was 73 degrees outside! How could I not? Did my weekly shopping and butchered a pork roast into meat for grinding (the fattiest parts) meat for stir fry (leanest) and then roasted the last quarter of it still on the bone. I should be able to make a nice stir fry tomorrow in my new wok. Bought peppers and onions and :? what else goes in stir fry? NO not rice...

Rob - what does this mean (...really...)? Are you actually grinding meat yourself?

You have to forgive me for asking, I have never been closer than the supermarket refridgerated meat case to butchering anything

Hmm broccoli - good, mushrooms -have them, zucchini and yeller squarsh- too expensive right now. But I'll sub the green peppers.

LOL @ TINA - I have a meat grinding attachment for my Kitchenaid mixer. I'd liek to say I grind my own meat all the time but that would be a huge fib. LOL. I do grind my own pork a lot though because the supermarket ground pork is so fatty/watery tasteless.

"I wouldn't have the courage to commit to 100 days. MAybe 4?"

lol, only 4, I had a good chuckle on that one, But I know what you mean, it seems like it has been that way with me for a while, I can keep it together for 3-5 days, then lose it on the weekends... guess thats my reasoning for starting this challenge.

Made it thru day one, 50 net carbs over 1900 cal, but thats ok, I didn't eat
any sugar, flour, pasta, rice, or potatoes....
so I am happy,

I'm the same way Kim. Something always goes wrong when I make any kind of eating challenge agreement.

Good luck meeting the challenge Carolyn. I think you can be proud of any number of days you can go even if it isn't 100.

Am so relieved it's raining today. With the beautiful weather we've had so far this year I felt obligated to get out and walk every day. But thank goodness I can realx today. I logged in 22.5 miles in 5 days.
