Oh, I am so sick of this snow. Blizzard out there today *sigh*..................Today is my Mom's birthday, luckily we have a 4WD so we will be heading to her house to at least watch the Philadelphia game and head home in time to see the Patriots. No cheating today either,,,, I am going prepared! Chef salad for me. (okay, and MAYBE 1 or 2 vodka and diets)..........

Oh, yes....I had 1 or 5 too many.... But the Patriots trounced so it's all good hahahd. We knew it would happen,,,,Pats and Eagles.....It's going to be a great game.

I bought some of that southwest chicken strips that you buy in the deli case and added that to a big fat green salad with some provolone cheese.......mmmmmmmmm...it was so good. I have a little trouble using too much dressing though,, I will have to keep my eye on that.

Friday is just around the corner, keeping on the straight and narrow.

I made a decision today. I need to excercise. I mean, I knew THAT already but was doing nothing about it. I'm going to buy an Eclipse 1100 HR Elliptical Trainer! I am going to pick it up on Saturday. It's on sale for 228, down from 349. I am excited. I used to have a big ol' weight bench in my dining room and it ended up becoming a very nice coatrack. But that was years ago. I hope that if I spend this $ that I will like it and use it! I was going to join Curves again, but it is alot of wear and tear on my car to keep going back and forth (20 miles) each way to go to the gym. Not counting the 3 nights going to work and back,,,,plus fun running around! I bought my little car 10 months ago ( the cutest PT Cruiser tee hee.........), it only had 16k miles on it. Now it has 31k. See what I mean?

Having a big fat chef salad for lunch,,,,chicken breast for dinner.

The elliptical trainer sounds great! Exercise is going to make you feel better, just wait!

Keep us posted about your progress, and no using the trainer as another coat hanger

225 today again.

Well, I did it. I got the elliptical thing. It's a Proform 650 Cardio crosstrainer. I thought to myself that the first time I use it I should only do 30 min. OMG!!!! I was dead by the time I hit 3 min hahahahhahahahahhaha!!!! Seriously, that thing is a killer!!! So this morning reality set in and I set a new goal of 4 big minutes. I did it but barely! Honestly, I laughed at myself all day long thinking I was going to do it for 30 minutes. I am SO OUT OF SHAPE PEOPLE!!!! But I'm cute and funny..............

I will get on it again this evening. Twice a day and I will eventually work my way up~up~up. Yeah, I can see 30 min by next Christmas.

Doing great on the food, I just have to get this metabolism going!

Hi Kristen,

This is the first time I've posted in your journal, but I caught your post in Tina's and I was curious to see what happened with you on your ellipitcal crosstrainer. You've got the right mindset. Don't try to force yourself to do too much. Work your way up until you get to your goal. Don't forget to incorporate strength training as well. A mixture of cardio (elliptical cross trainer) and strength training will help you reach your goal.

Force myself? THAT is funny,,,,I almost fell off the thing dead! Thank you, though for the support. I do appreciate it. I'm working 1 extra night this week, taking over for my sister who has gone to Florida for a week or so. I hate giving up my Saturday night but the money is good! (I stay overnights with a wonderful lady who has Parkinsons). .....until tomorrow then!

Start small...I'm lucky if I get in 5 minutes on the elliptical trainer on the average day. I usually set it for thirty, and never get there.

My advice??? Start with a small number, and commit to it every day (or every/other day) and just do that until it's doable.

You can add on a minute/ or a couple of minutes/ a week. It might take a while, but don't get discouraged. You'll get to thirty in good time!!! :great:

Well, as if things werent bad enough, my 41 year old husband came home and got to 5 min,,,,he wanted to keep going but I told him to get off before he had a stroke on me. Then my son~14, cruised on it for 10 Min like it was nothing. (which really made me happy, because truth be known,,,,he could stand to lose 20 or so). As a matter of fact, I've gotten so carried away that I went and got my Lifestyler Cardiofit bike out of storage, so now my dining room looks like a gym. Please Lord, let it last!!

Today I slept thru breakfast, so a southwest chicken salad and cottage cheese for lunch, and then I dont know what for dinner. I'm not the greatest at planning ahead. Oh, yeah.............lots of water today!

AMEN!...........

This is my new updated plan: 1 min on the elliptical....*step~step~step in place for 30 sec......then a set of 15 up and downs on that chair thingy, and start over again...until I work up to 30 min or so? How do you guys think that will work? Well, I think mixing it up a little will help out. Maybe stepping in place between one machine and the other will keep the heart rate up and give me a resty poo at the same time. I know I sound like a complete kook, but I am so serious about this!!!!

Cottage cheese with a little ranch and vienna sausage for breakfast, salad for lunch (watch that dressing),,, and chicken for dinner. I hate vegetables. Veggie hater here. I mean, I love onions, lettuce, cukes........but I hate peas, green beans, cauliflower, spinach ect......all the GOOD ones. They make me physically gag. I cant do it.

Heykim,,,,,I think it's wonderful that your kids are at your house daily! Sounds like you REALLY like it too! I have told my children that we have acres on both sides of our house for each of them and they are staying right here!! (If they know what's good for them!)

Anyhoo.........I'm off to start my day. I hope you all have a great Monday.
