Hi Kim I did make an appointment with my doctor for next week.... I think it's important that I confront this issue head on.... Thanks for your advice and concern. I know the way the anti-depressants make me feel isn't as bad as being totally depressed as I have been before. During my father's illness, and ultimate death, I experienced the first of my deep dark depressions which lasted years... even with therapy. Since that time, it has surfaced periodically, but usually under most stressful situations, which is where I am at today. I have to be a responsible adult and parent, if not for myself.... for my children. My life is a pattern to what they will grow up to perceive as "normal".....

Doing well on this WOE. I am tempted sometimes, like last night with the mash potatoes and biscuits I made for the family to go along with the oven fried chicken, but I was strong and restrained. It is difficult making meals I used to enjoy for the family but "choose" not to eat, but that is part of being an "unselfish" person..... Gold star for me today

Breakfast was Maggie's cereal with two strawberries. Lunch will be a salad (romaine Kim ) with no dressing and no cheese and dinner will be ....... well..... haven't gotten that far!

Thanks to each of you who stop by and give me support during this time in my life... Some days I know I couldn't make it without you guys!

Have a great work day everyone!

Oh Gregg........ I absolutely LOVED the thunderstorm last night! I sat on my screened in porch and watched it for at least 30 minutes... spectacular! Supposed to be more storms this week here in KC, but no more so far today..... Hopefully, tornados won't be following too closely. So glad I had the insight to stake my precious little magnolia tree when I planted it..... Afraid it would not have made it otherwise. Strange how something so simple can be a source of so much pleasure.... Always wanted a tulip magnolia, but DH always said NO! Too messy! Well, since he is moving back to TX, figured I could have whatever I wanted in MY yard now, so I did He can plant or mowed down whatever he wishes in our house in Austin.... probably will since I planted most of it

Anyway, I hope you enjoy the thunderstorms headed your way as much as I did these. Guess we left a few spectacular lightening bolts for you there cute mailman

Have a great evening everyone. Off for my walk with my beloved Bassett Hounds!

I love Thunderstorms when that is all they are...the lightening shows are often spectacular...I grew up in Northcentral Kansas and southcentral Nebraska so I have seen some real doozies! Nothing shows the power of nature better than a good lightening show accompanied by the sound of thunder in the not so distant areas! Glad your little tree survived it...have a good Thursday!

Rhonda....hope those thunderstorms have passed....I don't want to be flying into the heart of them tomorrow!! As for watching them....seeing I live in the lightening capital of the U.S...I have seen some spectacular light shows. I've always lived near water here so the flatness offers a great mirror. Scariest thing tho was waterspouts in the bay in my backyard!

BTW....my basset says hi to your twins

Rhonda - Basset hounds are adorable dogs. I know from walking with my dog how much more fun they make walking. I doubt I'd walk half as much if it weren't for sophie needing the exercise and teh fun i get from watching her.

Knowles - Yes Florida is the number one state for lightning strikes. North Carolina is #2.

Soon as the leashes come out Rob, they are whinning and ready to go! Amazing how they love to walk with such short legs I do love my twins tho.... adopted them from a humaine shelter in Austin when they were a year old. The were litter mates from a puppy mill :( Sad story... the more aggressive one, Bear, had heart worms... and I really only wanted one dog since I work.... so I adopted his brother, Beau. Couldn't bear to bring Bear home and then have him die from heart worms :( Well..... they had never been separated since birth, and Bear did not do well the day I took his brother away. The humaine shelter called me for two days saying Bear would not make it without his brother and heart worm treatments sooooo I went back and adopted him. Best thing I ever did. He had to have two rounds of heart worm therapy... first when we adopted him, and then a year later. Apparently, all the larva was not killed in the first go around. Since that time, he has done well... and they are inseparable. I know when one of them goes.... the other will follow closely behind. So glad I have them both..... they are just like my children..... well, they ARE my children! Pampered, and only see outside long enough to do their business.

Today was Maggie's cereal with two strawberries again for breakfast. Lunch is a salad with some chicken, no cheese or dressing again today. Last night's dinner was a little too carb/calorie laddened for me. Had some cajan sausages with a total carb count of 10! What possessed me to eat them I do not know.... but still made it under 30 carbs for the day. Had green beans to go with them instead of the mac and cheese I made for the kids... Have a pot roast in the crockpot for tonight so won't have to do much cooking when I get home. Staying off the scales for several days since TOM is approaching..... don't want to go into shell shock from the weight gain I am sure is there already.

Drinking my third glass of water after my four cups of coffee and going to go and brew some green tea for my next round....... Also, staying off the splenda packets today. Had three of them yesterday with my tea and that was far too many.

What a frustrating evening! Stopped to get milk on the way home for the kiddos and.... promptly locked my keys in the car! Got my exercise the wrong way tonight, walking 2 miles to home and then 2 miles back.... upset with myself the ENTIRE time. Had a few offers for rides along the way, but haven't accepted a ride from a stranger since about the age of 18.... young and foolish then.... old and wise now.... except when it comes to leaving the keys in the ignition! Oh well..... home again safe and sound and worn out, but at least tomorrow is Friday and I did prepare enough to have a roast in the cockpot, so making the side dishes for the family was much easier. Bought a crate of strawberries from the Farmers' Market on the way walking back to the car, so at least something good came of it..... Can't wait to have a few of them tonight

Flower if you have a habit of locking yourself out you can opt to get a magnetic key box. You put a door & or ignition key in it and stash it behind a fender or bumper. If you have comprehensive insurance the car is likely insured against theft. Not many people use them so crooks don't bother looking for such keys. A screwdriver and a hammer is so much faster for them.

Hope you sleep well. A long unexpected 4 mile walk could fatique a persons legs.

Thanks Stephen for the hiding the key idea! Will go to the hardware store today and locate one of those babies! Yeah..... got my exercise in that day, but somehow walking with high heels in a business suit isn't the most wonderful way to get it.... But grateful it was only locking my keys into the car.... not something more dreadful!

Kim, I remember growing up my parents never locked their house or cars.... Living in the big city, that just isn't an option for me... its nice to know there are still places in the world where you can feel safe .....

Doing great on my eating. Bought some cottage cheese at the grocery store last night and figure I will have a little of it with my fresh strawberries. Going to freeze part of them as I don't think I should eat an entire flat in a couple of days..... I could tho.... Up before the sun this morning and enjoying the quietness of the morning with my beloved coffee and twins. Tons of housework to do today, in addition to the yard work, but will get it all done so I can relax tomorrow. Going to go through my closets again and get rid of the stuff that is too large. I had bought a pair of jeans when I first started this WOL.... a size 11 Calvin Klein.... tried them on yesterday and now they are too big! Guess I should have tried them on a month or so ago, but figured I would never get my fat butt in them *L* Will wear them with a belt for a while..... just so I can enjoy the fact I finally made it into them! Have a great day to everyone who takes the time to read my Journal
