Thank you Noel for your kind words. You, too, are a wonderful person and a great mother. The way we live our lives today, will be what our children pattern theirs after tomorrow.

Rob, Good Morning to you! It is early, isn't it? Time to head out to the great unknown called the office. I hope you have a great week too my friend!

Can I say........ I LOVE MY BOSS AGAIN????? He gave me $1,000.00 bonus check today for no known reason..... he isn't even going to send me a W-2 on it.... he calls it "charity" since I have taken on my DEXH plight, with all the expenses of flying him home. There is a God and he looks out for me.

Lost another 5 pounds over the last few weeks, so that places me right at 130 again. I am eating, just not enough at this point. Never thought two years ago I would be struggling to stay at my ideal weight.

Having a "few" Southern Comforts tonight with a diet coke, but I think I deserve that for at least one night.

Chili is cooking on the stove and l/c cornbread in the oven.... life is good!

Thank you Tina. When I think of all the dark clouds that over-shadow my life, I still have to think about the ones that over-power those..... the good things..... Some days it is more difficult than others, but still in all, we are all blessed. No dinner for me tonight........ I think I am coming down with a virus or something as I just feel less than my own self. DEXH is being wonderful, and gracious and very appreciative.... yet, it makes me very sad to see him this way. I keep looking at him and thinking this is not the man I onced loved, but yet I still do. Heart-wrenching to say the least. However, I must remember the condition that he is in today was predisposed on his own part, but yet I will attempt to help him recover.

Have beanless chili on the stove if I ever get the urge to eat tonight. I think, in most part, I am just dealing with life and all of its issues and trying to figure out where it has placed me.

Love to all my l/c friends!

Rob....... I LOVE my new boss, and he has been consistent throughout the last few months of my not so organized life. As to the l/c cornbread..... bought the Atkins stuff off of Ebay a year ago and placed it in my freezer..... still is yummy, but one box (12 or so) has lasted me a year. I think the life expectancy has surpassed it, but I am willing to keep the other 4 or 5 boxes in my freezer for another month or so, because the winter chill is already setting in here in the great Midwest.

Saw some birds flying south this morning and my heart sank for a moment.... winter is surely on its way, but with winter passing comes the rebirth of a new year.

Green beans and fish for lunch today...... only because it is FRIDAY! Would have loved to have had red meat, but must stay true to my beliefs.

You cannot believe how happy I am to actually realize it is FRIDAY!!!!!!!!!!! I will be my own boss and dictator of fate for the next TWO days!

Happy weekend to all my l/c friends!

Rhonda - I'm sure if you had the stuff in your freezer it will still be good.
I saw a flock of geese flying in formation the other day but I'm not sure if they were coming or going. At this latitude we get some birds (like canadian geese) who winter over and some who head for Florida (the Jewish birds LOL).
    Have a great weekend!

    Thanks for stopping by!

Rob, it probably is good and I am certain I will finish it up in no time with the fall chill in the air. I have lots of geese around my house as well, especially with the creek in the back yard. They gather here on their flights to and from. Had literally a couple hundred birds outside my bedroom window this morning... I keep birdfood out there during the fall and winter for them and they seem to always remember to fly by and say hello each year.

Going to get busy and get my laundry started and plan my weekend. I hope to have all my chores finished by today so I can just relax tomorrow. Going to look up some l/c recipes for the week and then head off to grocery shopping.

I hope each of you have a wonderful day!

Vickie, as always, thank you so much for having your morning coffee with me!

Back from the grocery store..... had roast beef on sale that was cheaper than hamburger, so bought a couple of packs of that and going to make kabobs tomorrow and a pot roast probably on Monday.

Tuna and chicken salad with fresh veggies will be my mainstay for lunches this week. The last of the fresh veggies that are afordable where I live for a while I am certain, so took advantage of the sales today.

Going to smoke some ribs tonight in my garage sale smoker....... love it...... does take lots of charcoal, but the flavor is unbelievable. Planning a great l/c weekend and week.

DEXH cried last night and told me how sorry he was that he has placed this burden upon me and the children throughout his last few months in life, and sorry he was not a more supportive husband. He has always been a great father to the children, so that is why he is here...... I am certain after what he did a few months ago, he has many regrets.... I will see him through this and I hope he becomes a better person knowing he has a second chance in life..... few people get those.

Well, here the dryer buzzing at me, so off to go and fold laundry and put another load in

Mmmm...never used a smoker, but it certainly sounds intriguing. I'm sticking to pork chops today.

Glad to hear that DexH recognizes just how lucky he is to have the support of his family in his hour of need. As you said, not everyone gets that chance.

Have a relaxing Sunday with your family!

Rhonda - very touching story about Dexh.

Did you find instructions for your smoker? I ask because a friend gave me her old smoker a couple years ago and I've always meant to look up some instructions on how to use it. I'd probably start with a pork shoulder myself. That way if i screwed up it would opnly be 99 cents a pound i ruined. Though Ribs sound way better.
