Hang in there Rhonda! You've been there for many of us. We are here for you too. Even if you take a short 15-20 "time-out" to rest your mind it will help. It sure helps me.
I wish you only the best!

Hi Rhonda,

I hope you get some much needed rest soon. I'm glad there are dedicated people like you in the world but sure wish you could have more time for yourself. I just have to have alone time once in awhile. Right now I feel like I'm really needing some. ha.

Trying to catch up on some journals today.

Hey Gang! Thank you so much for keeping me in your heart and thoughts.

After a two week trial..... and many many hours of preparation prior to that, we lost. It was a tough case and we knew that going in. Mr. Boss Man decided no appeals so we close the book on that chapter and that case. Products liability cases are very hard to prosecute and the jury that we had was far too conservative to truly understand the concept. Suffice it to say, we tried our best. Taking this weekend and Monday and Tuesday off as well. It is far past time to rest my mind and my body. Mr. Boss Man had over $300,000.00 in expenses pursuing this case, so he is jeting off to Florida to lick his wounds. As for me..... just staying home and enjoying some R&R.

Susie, I think I will take the chair next to the bar AND the fireplace!

Hope to catch up with each of you soon on my days off. Thank you all for being such wonderful and caring friends. You all are the best!

Love to each of you.

Rob, Heather and Goddess..... thank you all so much for stopping by. I did enjoy my R&R, but painfully, it seemed far too short. I had planned on not showing up at the office on Saturday as I had asked for comp time for the two days I took off after a 24 day stretch without a day off, but the office manager said she talked with Mr. Boss Man, and decided that since I was salaried, it afforded me the opportunity to leave early throughout the year for doctor's appointments, meetings, etc. Well, don't you know I fired off an email to both Mr. Boss Man and the office manager reminding them that I work EVERY Saturday and expend more than 40 hour Monday through Friday. By the tone of my email, I am quite certain they knew I was very displeased with their decision to charge my vacation time. Mr. Boss Man had previously sent an email to me requesting my attendance on Saturday for a meeting to go over cases that need to be worked up for trial. Therefore, I will attend the meeting, but as soon as it is over, I am out the door. My new resolution is to stop putting in all these crazy hours when I do not get even the slighest recognition for doing so. I will put in my 40 hours and no more since I am not only not compensated monetarily, but also not appreciated for doing so. That being said, off to the slave factory for me.

Have a great day everyone and thanks for allowing me to blow off some steam.

That is unfair that they even suggest you come in without pay! Good for you for sticking up for yourself. If they need your help then you could use the extra $$ right?

Rhonda _ that's a bummer! I hope your email clues them in to your value to the firm. Have a great day anyway! Hope you have a 3 day weekend coming up.

Thanks for stopping by Heather and Rob. Heather, you are right, could use the extra dollars, but being salaried, it is not an option. Figured I could at least get a couple of days off without charging my vacation time, but no such luck. I have to remember this is just a job and not my life. So new me, new attitude.

Rob, unfortunately I do not get Monday off. Lawyers are cheap! While everything else will be closed, including the courts, they figure we can at least work up cases, even though the mail will not go anywhere. Go figure.

Anyway, not working today. Staying at home and enjoying my home and family.

Hope everyone has a great weekend.

Don't let them take advantage of you, Rhonda! If they can, they will. They'll protect their pocketbooks before adding any to yours.

Enjoy your time off, enjoy your family.
