That Victrola will fit in nicely around your other antiques.
Southern hospitality demands you bring tons of food to a neighbor who has had a death in the family. When my mom died we had about 40 pounds of baked hams in the fridge. And my parents had only lived there 7 months and only knew one of their neighbors. Safe trip home Friend!

Rob, Kim and Stephen, thanks so VERY much for your posts. I have missed you all incredibly! Finally home....... waited for an hour for a taxi back here, but what is the phrase....... "there is NO place like HOME!" Oh yeah........ my favorite childhood movie, and still today

I wish I had the energy to post in all of your journals tonight, but tomorrow is a new day. Just know that you all are my very valued friends and I will catch up, promise.

Kim, read about those two poor souls in Alaska that were killed by the Bear....... had to set back and think a moment and say to myself, NOOOOOOOO Kim and Moon weren't going camping!

Anyway....... so glad to be home and back to the comforts of my friends and my own DSL, as it is........ still a heck of a lot better than DIAL UP!

Love and hugs to each of you,
    Rhonda

    rhonda!! yeeeeehaw! shes HOME! :-)

yeppers.. there IS no place like home... i had a full scale melt down about missing my baby boy yesterday (okay.. hes TECHNICALLY my daughters son.. but hes MY baby boy *L*)... i guess moon must be feeling the same way... cause he didnt try to console me or make me feel like i was SILLY for thinking that way....

i cant WAIT to get back to my tv.. my memory foam bed ... my FRIDGE... and my HOTTUB..

i read about those killed by bears... (up where my SISTER is..not me) scary stuff..
when we got here a few weeks ago.. grandson here told me that they had to leave where they had a birthday party party for their friend.. because bears were there...HORRORS!!! that is just CRAZY!!! i know.. i know... cougars and bears come to MY home area... but that doesnt sound as scary as a birthday party for some reason...

    *sigh*...
nature... and that in it... can be brutal sometimes....

welcome home kiddo! youve been missed!

Rob, just renewed another year contract with SBC DSL. Not the best, but already bought the equipment for it last year so I could have two computers linked together in the house. The equipment was something like $200, but figured it was better than "renting it" from Roadrunner. SBC promised that on July 6th, they will have upgraded their connections and should move a lot faster on the internet. It's something like $29.99 per month, plus taxes so averages around $35.00 or so, but at least I can have both computers online and not sacrifice my phone line while doing so. We'll see how much more improved it becomes on July 6th. If not, guess I am still stuck with it for another year, but wanted to get my money's worth of the equipment I had to buy to have it all hooked up. Yes, call me CHEAP!

    Good morning Flower.

I have to pay $68 dollars for my broadband, but it is very quick. Most helpful for researching most everything. I hope the rest of the work week isn't a big push and that you won't have to play catch up. I am sure it is nice to be back with your own style of cooking and to have your children close at hand. Have a great day.

    P.S. I missed ya.

Thinkin of ya. Hope you and the kids are doing great. I spent the afternoon in my Donnas garden yesterday. Amazing what one little gal can do. Her oriental lillies haven't bloomed yet but most everything else has. There were buds on the lillies even though their not supposed to bloom until August.

Hey Kelly! Missed you GF! Stephen, sounds like your Donna loves her garden as much as I do. Was out early this morning watering my moonflowers..... well, no flowers yet, but the vines are taking off!

Rob, once you get away from dial-up, you'll never go there again. Even with DSL, I found it hard while away to get used to webpages loading so slowly, yet I was with AOL for ten years!

Kim, thinking about you this morning..... you've got one month down, and only one more to go until you are home with your baby

Rob, will be thinking of you on your bday when I get this "super sonic" <grin> high speed they promised me on the 6th!

Take care my friends....... more later....... have to dash out and race people across the Missouri River........ sure miss my bridge :(

Rhonda - That's why I haven't gotten high speed internet service. It's like $40 a month here plus and I know once I get it I can't ever go back. So I've put off getting it until I pay off the Dept of revenue some back taxes I owe. Should be in a couple more payments. I think i've already pais them over $4000 in the past year.

I hear you on the IRS crap..... they get more money from me than I will EVER be able to save.

Drinking the devil coffee again this afternoon..... work up at 4:00 a.m. stressing over my life (you can guess which part) and just couldn't go back to sleep. That hour sure makes a difference.

Rob, thanks for sending the rain, even if it has LIGHTENING with it! I saw a couple of strikes hit the Missouri River from my 21st floor office....... that was close enough. My office windows face the river..... usually very beautiful most days that I can see through the smog!
