Man that's a raw deal. It's why my motto is (sadly) no good deed goes unpunished. Sorry this happened to you. Not everyone is crud.

Rhonda - I roll up a couple/few leaves and stick them in ice cube trays then cover in filtered water and freeze. then when frozen you can put them in a freezer bag.

Rhonda-so sorry to hear that happened to you. Some days it really feels like "nice guys finish last" doesn't it? Hope you get it all straightened out without too much hassle. Thinking of you.

Let me say first of all, thank you all for you kind support........ this is why I love each of you and this board.

Now to the gory details....... Bank of America was wonderful..... reinstated all the money they had stolen with the check fraud..... but then again, all the checks they wrote were cashed at their own banks. Now ....... more drama....... called my credit card companies this morning and apparently whomever has racked up like over $10,000 in charges. You ask.... how can that happen????? American Express said they tried to call me yesterday when charges were "abnormal", but guess what...... they called my house at like 2:00 p.m. Now let me ask you this...... how in the heck did they think I did NOT work and would be home at that hour??? Or, on the brigher side, if I were rich and could afford NOT to work....... there is still a WORK number on the list, as she read it off to me. Credit card fraud is going to be a B*(&^! They won't remove any of the charges without me first filing a fraud claim and then them "analyzing" it. Gawd only knows how long that will take. In the meantime, I have no credit cards, no cash, no checking account (unless you want to count the NO PRINT, BLANK TEMPORARY CHECKS that no one will let you cash or write) and NO MONEY..... Dang, I can remember being this poor, but it was for a far better reason.

In any event, my children are safe..... I am good, and just unlocked the gun safe and sleeping with "Sara"

Yes indeed there is a very rapid cash market for credit cards. As I understand it it goes something like this. This gives a druggie dope money quick these card then are in the hands of people that will either sell the numbers to a secondary market online or reap the max out of them in large retail and whosale markets asap themselves.

All the fine print you signed for each credit card protects you in the end but you may very well be without a vast majority of that cash and or cash flow for several - 3-18 months Good thing most of the checks were cashed at the bank. That is why it is very important to cancel them the minute we do not know where they are. Ironiccaly you are the third lawyer I have heard of that has personnally spoken about this kind of crime on themselves. The first case was back about 1990. I am sure the laws have changed a great deal but not neccasarily in the favor of the consumer. That would be most unlikely. Kind of like saying the healthcare industry would roll over and allow universal healthcare, rediculas. Enormous money has control of the legislature and always has. Short of a revilutionary mob - the money has the power. The people are the pawns.

There are few Americanizims that ring more true than, "Credit cards are evil."

I am glad you have found some piece of mind tonight.

You are right Stephen, it is amazing how fast they could rack up charges on my cards without the creditors even really questioning them. I still believe merchants should require a driver's license as proof of ID when you are using a credit card........ I will survive this episode in my life but not without much grief. Hopefully, I will use it as a reference in the future when dealing with people whom I truly do not know....... I guess I just work hard for my money and would NEVER think of stealing some one elses. Heck, if a cashier gives me too much money I even give it back. I figure she is going to lose her job over it and it isn't rightfully mine..... Morals are everything in a person...... I could see taking food if my children were starving, but beyond that..... I just cannot justify.

My morning glories are finally blooming Rob! Moonflower vines are there, but no blooms yet. I will attempt to take some pictures this weekend and post them for you guys to see....... My garden is a labor of love, especially after this horrible heat and drought.

Junie, finally got the blueberry coffee! It is WONDERFUL! Having my second cup of it now..... so smooth.....

Rhonda - you have my sympathy about having to deal with a credit card disputed charge. I have had to do that a couple times and it took a couple of monhs to finally get them reversed. Glad the morning glries have bloomed for you! They seem to thrive in the heat.

Kim, the "brighter" side of my day was the postcards from you........... even thinking of me and sending one with the wild rose seeds! I can hardly wait to plant them! When they mature, I will always think of you and Alaska, which I have yet to see. Again my friend, thank you so very much for thinking of me and all the inspiration to this WOL I owe to you! You are indeed, my mentor!

I see Rob is awake at this ungodly hour along with me posting..... Woke up at 3:30 and just could not go back to sleep. Maybe a nap later today, maybe not. We'll see how much housework I can get done as it all must be finished today. No time for heavy cleaning during the week.

Junie, I LOVE this blueberry coffee. I ordered two and going to order two more before they stop selling it for the year. Thanks again for introducing me to this new and wonderful coffee adventure!
