Sharron and PAmom's old journal

Alright, enough messing around. I'm ready to get down to business. I'm "all done" with having a closet full of clothes I can't wear and I don't want to have migraines like I've been for the past year. I need to get into ketosis and stay there! I know how to do CAD RMs should I "need" that, but otherwise I need to be more strict AND STAY THAT WAY!!!

Let's Rock!!!! :hot:

Good luck, Sharron!! You can do it!! I'm barely holding onto the "wagon." Feeling the same way about my clothes.

A new thread for us and lots of visitors!! What fun!!

Susie..."Things at my house" are doing well. My little guy's platelet count seems to truly be into low normal range (we think that 1 great count in Nov. was an error)...it's been 14 months of this now! His next followup will be in 3 months. The rest of my crew is doing just fine. Other than regaining most of my weight...grrrrr...from a year of off-and-on emotional eating, and a month of jury duty right now, I'm fine too. How have you been??? I know you're enjoying the same beautiful Spring weather I am here in WV!!

FYI, I restarted with true induction 2 weeks ago today and have lost 11 pounds!!

I gave myself a few rules to follow, first and foremost NO SUGAR!!!!!!!!!

I had company over the weekend and stayed true to my plan...the closest I came to a "cheat" was 1 piece of LC toast with Sharron's sausage gravy on Sunday.

I'm on jury duty and it's making my week kinda crazy...I was at the courthouse all day today, followed by a crazy evening of baseball, etc. Hence a strange day of eating.

Menu:
Br---the usual (veggie and cheese omelette and coffee with cream)
snack---string cheese
lunch---hot crab dip and celery
snack---few almonds and later string cheese
suppper---umm...several chunks (lol) of leftover pork tenderloin on my way to baseball (lucky I got that)
snack---fried bologna sandwich (1 slice LC bread)

Not an ideal day of eating because of busy-ness, but stayed on track.

Have a good night everyone!
Lori

Just thought I'd restate my initial goals from 2 weeks ago:

My goals are this:
1. NO SUGAR for any reason.
2. Strict induction for 14 days (NO breads, LC pasta, choc. etc...just proteins, fats and veggies...will add nuts and fruit day 15 unless I get desperate before then)
3. Some green tea each day.
4. Exercise every other day even if it's only 15 min walk, but aiming for every day.
5. Pray daily for control over my eating and for weight loss.
6. Check in here regularly to keep myself accountable, with written food log here or on paper.
7. Get more sleep!!! At least 6 hours/night.

Even though I've slipped on some of the minor points once or twice (like forgot my green tea or got 5.5 hours sleep) I'm very pleased with my adherence so far.

Later gals!

Wow! What fun... getting up in the morning to a whole pile of greetings in our journal

Lori, you are doing fab -- you rock!

My food yesterday:
snack - scrambled eggs
bfast - "pounded patty" and salad with "sweet and tangy dressing"
snack - cashews (I'm allowing nuts -- did on my original induction, too)
lunch - "nightshade-free taco salad"
snack - 2 choc covered macs and some pistachios (doc actually told me to drink coffee or eat s/f choc for migraine, and it does help)
dinner - "bbq chicken with herb smoke" and a new one called "missionary salad" -- it is sorta like "potluck broc salad" or "yummy coleslaw" but with a twist. Also, i did indulge in a piece of some s/f strawberry cream pie DD1 made. Still got ketosis
snack - a small piece of the chicken and a slice of apple

Here are my results in one day:

I'm down 1 pound and 10 3/4 inches

I've never lost that much inch-wise in one day before!!!

Let's shed those pounds, batgirl!!!!

What a yummy looking day Sharron with excellent results!! :great:

I have a correction to make:

I've lost 12.5 pounds since restarting!!

Today so far:
Br---cheese omelette/coffee/2 bacon
lunch---string cheese/hb egg/pepper strips and dip/ half a grapefruit (unplanned...ds wanted it and then didn't want it...lol )

Heading out to cut grass soon. Lots more gardening to do...what my dad and I started this weekend needs lots of finishing!

Keep flapping those wings!
Lori

Edit:
Snack was a bunch of nuts...almonds and cashews
Supper---cubed steak with LC BBQ sauce/broccoli...need a salad but I'm full
snack---maybe pepperoni "chips" and marinara

BTW, dodged the bullet again today at jury duty! Had to return this morning to finish jury selection on the same case as yesterday (first degree murder charges ) but my number never got called (to the jury box)!! Pheww!

Woo Hoo on that correction!!!

my day wasn't perfect -- had a migraine and blood work done, but got through it...

snack - hb egg
bfast - pounded patty and missionary salad
snack - pork rinds w/cream cheese dip
lunch - CAD RM burger with a salad
snack - 2 chicken strips
dinner - chicken leg and salad

I don't know how I'll do tomorrow with the tape and scale, but I really did my best today........

Lori, so glad your little man is better. He's really been through a lot and so have his mom & dad. I'm sure he's a real helper with your gardening. I have good days and bad with the RA, it's just like that. I'm still working and DHs plant will most likely close in June or July. :( Such is life. Hey, Sharron I'm wondering how you take the inches off? You guys are doing great, congrats on being losers! Stop by and see me, I have started a new journal.

Down .5 pound and 2.5 inches this morning...

Susie, I was extremely bloated, so that is a big part of it :o

However, what I'm doing is back on track with my water/sea salt and KT plus just eating better in general.

Kim, a CAD RM is a Carbohydrate Addicts Reward Meal. If your carbs are low all day (under 20) and you start a meal with a salad, then you can have equal portions of meat (another veggie, if desired and avaialble) and some carby thing. For me, yesterday it was a ceasar salad at Wendy's and a double burger. Still in ketosis

I can do a CAD RM occassionally -- more than about 1x a week and I start to get cravings and blow it.

Lori, thanks for the encouragement. I was a bit concerned about how my day went, but it worked out ok
